CRACKER TOFFEE
48 saltine crackers
2 sticks (1 cup) unsalted butter
1 cup brown sugar
1 12-oz bag milk chocolate chips
Toppings of choice: sprinkles, toffee bits, chopped pecans, crushed candy canes, etc.
Preheat oven to 375*. Line a rimmed baking sheet with foil and spray thoroughly with baking spray. Place the saltine crackers on the baking sheet in a single layer. Place the 2 sticks of butter into a saucepan and melt over medium heat. Add 1 cup of brown sugar and stir with a rubber spatula. Bring this mixture to a boil and cook for 3 minutes, stirring frequently. Immediately pour over the crackers and spread it out evenly over top with a rubber spatula. Bake at 375* for 7-8 minutes. Sprinkle the chocolate chips over top. Place back into the oven for one minute. Use a rubber spatula to spread the melted chocolate chips evenly over top of all the crackers. Sprinkle your toppings all over the melted chocolate. Refrigerate for 2 hours then peel away from the foil and break into pieces. Store in the refrigerator. ENJOY!

Thank you
Looks good and easy. Please use a silicone spatula or wooden spoon. A rubber spat will melt in such hot sugar syrup.
This looks so good and easy! I might make this to give as coworker gifts! 🎄
I’ve never made these before but I just might have to this year!
I hadn't intended to bake this year, but these would be such an easy give-away gift that I'll have to change my plans.
They’d be perfect for dominoes too 😊
Oh Anne these look so good! I've seen these for years, but I've never made them. Thanks to your video they're now on my list! I love versatile recipes. Tfs
I will be making this one. Hope you feel better soon! 💞
Yummy
I think the toffee bits and sprinkles on top is the perfect topping. Looks so delicious! Thank you!😋
Thanks for the recipe!

Thank you.. very easy and so delicious… it tastes like gourmet toffee and chocolate. Merry Christmas and thank you so very much. Blessings to you and your family.

❤😂
This is one of my favorite holiday recipes!! It is so delicious and impossible to not keep eating! Last year I made it using Graham crackers and I really liked that too. This year I was thinking of trying the pretzel slims as a base, that might be good too! I like your idea of adding toffee chips to the top, love those!! Happy December!🌲
Chocolate covered pretzels might be my favorite treat-love that sweet & salty combination. Graham crackers sound delicious too!
I agree - so good!!! I use Keebler Club crackers and stop after the brown sugar and butter mixture. But I am going to try topping with chocolate like you do!
Oh we love butter crackers-that’s a great idea!
I love this candy. It is so so good. Thanks Anne 🎄🎄
Me too! I love when other people make it… But I rarely make it myself. It’s nice to know it’s so easy! Although kind of dangerous too haha
Hi Anne ✌️. I cut it down to half but I never got toffee and went way past 3 minutes and turned dark brown. So, is it sugary at all when you stick to 3 minutes on the dot? Under all that bubbling I can't tell 🤷
Hi! I’ve only ever made this exact recipe, I’m sorry! I know the boiling is somewhat of a science as far as getting the right consistency for the caramel..
What size sheet pan do you use i use a jelky roll pan but think its too small thank you
Hi! All my sheet pans are 17.25 x 11.5 inches.
Help! I'm trying to make this recipe and my butter/brown sugar seemed to burn. It didn't get "thick" and creamy like the video. I forgot and did use dark brown sugar which may be the problem? I also used the butter I had, which is salted. I want to try it again, but not sure exactly what to change. Maybe i had the stove temperature to high? I had the burner on #3- 1/2 out of 6. I did boil for the 3 min as instructed. Luckily, I stopped and tossed before I added the chocolate.
Hi! If you want to try again I would say lower temp! I’m still figuring that out myself at my new home with an electric stove (I’ve always had gas). They take a while to heat up, but then get incredibly hot and stay that way!
Also keep stirring! Good luck!
YES! I did it! Used a smaller, much lower burner and it worked out just like it should! Again, Thank You!
Woohoo! 🙌🏻
