Nintendo has really messed up and refused to add any Sonic character to Super Smash Bros Ultimate. Which I think is crazy since there is 8 FIRE EMBLEM characters in smash and only ONE SONIC character. Shadow could've been great. Or Knuckles is practically made for smash. He's in Project Plus or Project +, so why can't he be in an official smash game like Super Smash Bros Ultimate.

@@germm8706 Sakurai usually Chooses characters that are the easiest transfer rather than just popularity. When it comes to egg man, there’s a problem, his mechs are usually too big. Unlike Ridley having egg man fight in a small mech while keeping him balanced, would be a tricky task.

We're not in the early 90's anymore. Sega releases their games on Nintendo consoles,and some them of are Nintendo exclusives, They even Crossovered with Nintendo other times than Smash. Castlevania, Final Fantasy, and even Street fighter to some extend are not really associated with Nintendo anymore, Both Castlevania and Final Fantasy had their most iconic and impactful game on the PS1, and Street fighter stop releasing the mainline games on Nintendo since Sf4

Smash will never be a 10 out of 10 until Eggman joins the battle. He is one of the most iconic villains in all of gaming and yet the f****** zombie from Minecraft made it in before him.
Ikr, in fact, Dr. Eggman is said to be the 2nd most iconic video game villain of all time, the only video game villain more iconic than Eggman is Bowser, also Ganondorf is the 3rd most iconic and Sephiroth is the 4th most iconic, Dr. Eggman’s inclusion would make the big 4 complete, and Shadow would make alot of sense as well because he’s the ultimate life form, which is of course within the title of the game itself, so it’d very fitting, and he’d be a good semi clone of Sonic, all of this could be true especially if the next smash game will be a rerelease of Smash Ultimate for the Switch 2, which I can see a high probability of that happening in the future. Also Dr. Eggman and Shadow are the two most highly requested Sonic characters as of currently for when a new Smash game comes out, so it definitely makes the most sense to add those two characters, btw Tails comes in at 3rd most requested and Knuckles comes in at 4th, so if Sega was generous enough, Tails and Knuckles could be included as well, other Sonic characters are much less requested.

This is needed to make sure Sakurai can maintain game balance.

He had a long range of tools he used in Tails Adventure and he could have used a ring similar to the one used in Tails Skypatrol. He also could have used his ring bomb and his grab drop from Sonic the Fighters. He has also used the tail swipe that has appeared in multiple games and he still has moves that Sonic can do as well, like the spindash and spring jump, which could have used the spring that was used in Sonic Triple Trouble.

Ikr, Sonic is literally more iconic than Castlevania, Starfox, Kid Icarus, and Megaman, the only one of these franchises mentioned in this comment section that comes close to Sonic is PAC-MAN, but even then, I’d say Sonic may be more iconic than PAC-MAN or equivalent to it. Shadow, Dr. Eggman, Tails and Knuckles should all be added to the next smash game they deserve it, and because of how iconic PAC-MAN is, we at least deserve to get something new from that franchise as well, but if we could only have two characters, I’d go with Shadow and Dr. Eggman.

Calling Roy "Ginger Marth" is an insult since Roy is basically *_the whole reason_* the Fire Emblem series has had worldwide releases since Blazing Blade in the first place (also, I recommend playing the Fire Emblem series if you want to learn more about the characters - they're not all just Marth clones).
That aside, yeah, I do feel like more Sonic characters should be added as well, particularly Shadow - if you haven't played Super Smash Bros. Crusade yet, I recommend doing so because Shadow is a blast to play.

Theres a perfect explanation.. Sonic isnt a Nintendo character/franchise so any characters would have to be agreed on by both companies.. They probably couldnt come to an agreement for anyone other than Sonic to make room for newcomers

@@lordenma4449 The reason Sephiroth is the exception to the rule of having two characters from a third party franchise is because both Cloud and Sephiroth come from FF Dissidia, which is an amazing fishing game. It makes it so easy to transfer both of them.
Sonic Battle isn't on the same level as Dissidia in terms of gameplay.

Characters like Mega man, K rool, and the Belemonts are some of the best represented characters. Sadly Olimar and Monster Hunter being deconfirmed prove that characters from 3d games are usually harder to design.
Since Pokemon and Fire Emblem started out in 2d, it's clear why Nintendo favors them.

There was SO MUCH potential bro, Shadow as an echo fighter, Tails, Knuckles, and/or Eggman. And Sonic is one of those franchises that legitimately feels weird that theres only one rep, not even having Eggman as a villain counterpart to represent the series
Metal Gear, and Mega Man only have one rep.
Knuckles should be in the game, his moves are made for it.
He is as an Assist Trophy just port his assist trophy version to the game.

@@Chulosxd09 fun fact, when Nintendo asked Sega for sonic and smash, Sega said no at first. Then they change their mind at the last minute.
That doesn’t give Nintendo any motivation to add another.
I’d say add 2 in the next Smash game: Shadow as an echo fighter for Sonic (with differences similar to Ryu and Ken) and Dr. Eggman as a unique fighter. And then add Tails as an assist trophy and give Sonic a Classic Sonic alternate costume as well as a moveset rework similar to the recent ultimate mods.
Everything you just mentioned is exactly what I think should happen as well, in addition the next thing would be if the next Smash game ends up being a port of Ultimate where we get 11 more characters in order for the roster to be complete with 100 characters because the game currently has 89 characters, for the base game it would have all 89 characters plus 5 new echo fighters and Shadow being one of them and the Shadow assist trophy gets removed and replaced with Tails, then we’d have Fighters Pass 3, and this is where we would get Dr. Eggman as one of the six final characters to be added to the game. Although the only downside to this would be that Sonic would still have the same moveset and we might not get new skins for base roster characters, but I feel like I can live with that, especially when I imagine what characters we could potentially lose if we get a different Smash Bros. game, and for me the prospect of possibly losing certain characters in the next game is even worse than Sonic’s current moveset. I just really don’t want certain characters to be cut from the game if the next Smash Bros. game ends up being something different, while yes there are characters that I could care less about, but some of them are pretty important to me, you could probably narrow it down somewhere between 40-50 characters in Smash Ultimate that I care the most about, and I’d say the chances for these particular 40-50 characters to come back to the next Smash Bros. game are pretty decent for various reasons, so I feel like I can still have hope for them, even if some of them are 3rd party characters, but over half of my 40-50 characters are Nintendo characters btw, I could show you my list of the characters I chose if you’d like to read it in a separate comment, hopefully if those certain characters don’t end up getting cut, and we potentially get reworked movesets for certain characters that are more in line with what’s canon for them in regards to the game series that they come from, and if we get a new Subspace Emissary inspired story which is also similar in terms of gameplay to Brawl’s Subspace Emissary, and included with lots of cool cutscenes with Smash Ultimate character reveal trailer level graphics to move the story forward, then I wouldn’t mind if that ended up being the next game, and if Sonic returned in the game and got a reworked moveset and if we got Shadow & Dr. Eggman as bonus characters then it would only make it even better.
@@Azureblue25 I’m 100% with you, and no smash game would likely ever manage to top this one. As much as I’d want a few certain characters removed, an upgraded port is the best option moving forward. But if we get a port I think that they should put their focus mainly towards changing up all of the really old fighters’ (64-Brawl) movesets a bit to freshen them up a bit. And then add new fighters, stages, modes, upgrade the graphics, FIX THE CRAPPY ONLINE etc. Not super sure about subspace though since Sakurai said something about that it most likely won’t happen again, but one can hope. (Also thank you for spending time on writing that comment, I had a lot of fun reading it!)

Like, Megaman has 7 sagas each with a different protagonist, it would be great if they put X so people could finally realize that he and the classic Megaman are different people, Also because each protagonist has a different ability:
X is rock type (Classic Megaman), but he has a lot of armors( like Falcon armor who lets him fly and Gaia armor who is slower but boosts defense and can do a lot of damage)and can charge his weapons to do more damage/hit a larger area and move around
Zero: he was already a character from the x saga, he has several weapons to use in melee (Z-Saber, Chain Rod, shield boomerang, recoil Rod, and Zero Knuckle) Like X, he uses the boss weapon,But like fighting game moves (Ex: If you press up arrow and attack with the saber equipped he uses a kind of shoryuken with his sword. Not only that, if zero is equiped with the fire element ryuegin will go higher and do fire damage) Zero can also charge his weapons, dealing damage based on the equipped element (which he also steals from bosses)
Vent/Aile: They use the biometals, wich are What's left of the previous protagonists and antagonists, being that they are like x's armor only with a specific element plus zero moveset
Gray/Ashe:Just like Axl in the X saga, they become the bosses themselves, with their own movesets and different sizes.
Hub/Megaman.exe: it has several transformations and "cards" it can use to deal damage, effect and affect terrain)

Pokémon also has a lot of characters in smash but the reason why everyone overlooks them is because they are all unique with the exception of pichu. Meanwhile fire emblem characters can all be described by anime swordfighter and it really doesn't help that 4 characters are basically the same thing and can be described as Marth, Girl Marth, Marth but with fire, and Marth but sucks at recovery.

I think we need tails, knuckles, amy, and shadow. Tails could have alot of tech related moves, somewhat like R.O.B with missiles and guns. He could also do some moves sonic has, and a throwback move they could add is tails' tail whip from the sonic advance series. Knuckles could be seen as a complete brawling character. Very physical and could somewhat play like a street fighter character. His glide could make for great combos, and once again, he would have some of sonics moves. Amy could be a unique addition for the smash bros community. Her disability for curling into a ball for the advance series could work as a hard to learn gymic, but all her hammer attacks could make up for it. I could imagine Amy's movement being based off advance 1, but they could do alot with her nonetheless. (All 3 of these characters would have a skin of their classic form, and sonic could get one too. Shadow is a unique condition. He could play as a mix of tails and sonic, being faster than tails, but slower than sonic. As you said in the video, he could use his chaos control, guns, and melee attacks.

Yes, when adding general stuff in the game there is a clear focus on stuff Sakurai’s more familiar with (You can easily see this with other Series not just Sonic). However I don’t think he straight up just doesn’t care about what Fans want, it’s more just fan stuff is treated like cracked picks, being only done mostly in special occasions like with most of the DLC.

@@TheRealZXXZ I think the reason why there are so many Fire Emblem characters is because Nintendo wants to put in as much RPG characters as possible. Why, because RPG's are a deal in Japan and Nintendo is a Japanese company. The problem is that RPGs use to have a hard time selling well in the West, especially strategy games.
Maybe in the next Smash game, but if they end up porting Smash Ultimate as a deluxe version with new characters/stages the only Sonic character that would fit is Tails since he’s the only iconic one behind Shadow and Knuckles, but they’re both assist trophies.
Maybe we could also get Metal Sonic as an echo fighter.
It could still be possible to remove assist trophies and turn them into playable characters even if it’s a port of the same game, so I wouldn’t completely rule out Shadow and Knuckles.

Shadow would be cool, but honestly, Knuckles is meant for Smash. It feels like his kit was built for platform fighting from day one he should totally be in there. Easily could rival Ganon in killing power depending on how they would handle him.
Sonic himself needs fixes as well. His down b being a spin dash makes sense cause thats the exact same imput for a spindash in the 2D games. Down+Jump button. Makes sense to be his down b. Same goes for his homing attack being neutral B. But why not make his side b something like maybe the fire shield dash?
Fun Fact: Sonic did have the fire dash as a Smash 4 custom move but it was removed for Ultimate.
The good news is the two spindashes have subtle differences.
Sonic reps in smash could be Sonic, Tails, Eggman, and Shadow as an echo. I think that would satisfy most fans
I totally agree with this, although the only problem I would see with it, is why Knuckles isn’t in the game, I imagine that would annoy some people, so the best case scenario would be to add Dr. Eggman, Shadow, Tails and Knuckles, because those are the 4 most requested Sonic characters by far.
