Update it , Just tested it , works almost as good as fw1. ALMOST buuuuuuuuut ... I discovered that fuji once had good snappy video af and they destroyed it 4ish years ago. Sorry to ruin your hopes. Btw gave you a message on instagram in may :( still no reply , Promise I am not a stalker.
Thank you for mentioning tracking sensitivity! I use my X-T5 (firmware 4.0 😞) exclusively for stills, and after watching this video I decided to set tracking sensitivity and speed tracking sensitivity to 0 (zero) at AF continuous mode using Fuji 400mm lens and it focuses 45% faster.
Thanks for the "firmware fix". I was messing with this the other day and I was on the struggle bus, at the back of the bus no less. Now I can finally have a semi-reasonable low-tier camera experience and still wish I was a Nikon user, but with less hunting.
You should open a "ballet / dancing school" ... Your moves rock ! :-) On a serious note: The more sophisticated our technology, the more important it becomes to 'learn your gear' and fine tune it to your needs. I am using the FUJI lineup for professional and personal work and as many of my colleagues in the industry I always had 'the results I wanted/needed' but keep in mind, no camera these days is a 'one button press super machine'. Problem with the internet these days: A trillion 'This sucks..' videos are thrown out because it's good for the clicks. Working on your own skills and/or doing intensive testing yourself is not 'as sexy' and not done by most users. YOU DID IT .. et voila ... it works :-) Thanks for sharing...
On an X-H2S/Firmware 7.0 I have been using Sensitivity set to + 3 and AF Speed set to either 0 or -1 for about 6 months. Generally works OK with both XF 70-300 and XF 150-600 for wild life videography. Still not great. But makes the camera serviceable. Not sure I could do one of your street videography videos with this camera and these settings.
Why so fancy, you can literally fix it with the Df. 😂 Jokes aside, getting the Z50II + 24-50 or S5D + 18-40 will save you money and give you more than any Fuji camera can + you also get a lens as a bonus.
The Locksmith sorting the Fiji AF and releasing you to do this video is pretty commendable. *We do know that one of your feet is securely tied to the sofa, hence your limited range of movement.that outside shot is from an old vid.
The speed setting depends on the lens also. My 16mm 1.4 is much slower than 14mm 2.8 so I need different settings for those two. On 14mm I can set the speed to the minimum and for the 16mm that would be too slow. But usually you do want tracking higher and speed slower and it wont hunt.
What's happening? The Locksmith(TM) pointed out that I incorrectly doubled the day count down on the pre-recorded videos on this morning's video as 9 days left, but it was actually 8. Now a second video in the same day (night really)??? Is The Locksmith(TM) panicking and trying to show he's not just posting pre-recorded videos and he won't run out of them? So we won't catch on to him? Does this mean he's got 7 days left now? Does it mean he has a few more and he's trying to throw us off the track? Something else? It was a pretty quick video. Maybe The Locksmith(TM) is dividing up the pre-recorded material into smaller videos than Kasey would normally post so he doesn't run out as fast... We'll see what happens tomorrow.
Hey brother, spot on , the best it’s ever been, with the 18 and the 33, cool, I usually use manual with a cine, but sometimes, many times need AF when on a gymble and now I can also use my $800 Aus RS4, my wife forgives me now and I have to thank you for saving my marriage
Glad you finally found it for yourself. Whenever anyone suggested you change settings you'd just insult them. Thankfully you didn't give up and sell it.
While the lock setting is consistent from lens to lens, the speed of acquiring focus varies from lens to lens. Fat lenses, like the 16-55 are slower compared to the primes. I do okay with the XT4 by tweaking these settings. Still waiting for that firmware update though. If AFC isn't sticky and reliable after the update, I don't think I'll stay with this system.
Well it's good to know you can get that close now. Hopefully the new update will really be a successful fix. Nice work, when are you joining the Fujifilm engineering team?
Everyone needs to keep in mind that these settings are all lens specific as they all react differently to the settings. Which is annoying but it is what it is.
Highly recommend the Phantom ARRI LUTS and Cineprint35 for this specific camera. Have fun. Oh, another pro tip, use common sense and dont shoot in Flog2 at night.
Hmm.. Interesting. I need to try out Your recommended settings in my X-H2. Just wonder if I should do this before, or after today's firmware update release 😅
Funny but just today I was thinking that I wanted to see two videos per day instead of one. One to make laugh in the morning and another one before going to bed. Today my wishes came a reality thanks to bitcoins
Yeah actually i just almost the same settings with my XT5 and I can shoot AFC for both video and photo. And take note I shoot Padel Tennis and other racket sports. My hit rate is around 90%. I’m using a 16-55mm lens v1 and 50-140mm.
It's the "fix" we've known long ago, just set speed to -1/-2/-3 depend on lenses and sensitivity to 0 for the fastest subject acquisition or higher if you want AF to be sticky. Most hunting come from lens motor moving too fast that the CPU cant keep up so it has to rack the focus back and forth to confirm focus. The problem is sometimes slower focus speed is too slow to be useful, and the tendency to find "human" subject in everything make AF mess up badly. The 7.10 seems make the camera less eager to find new "human" subject, so it sticks to the initial subject more but it's also slower to acqquire new subject.
Those aren't the settings. I was at -1 speed in the intro clip. That was the worst AF anyone has ever seen, and you are suggesting that or even slower speeds lol.
@@cameraconspiracies Speed settings are depended on lenses used. Some very fast AF lenses need slower settings. Fuji AF is dumb but certainly not the worst, just use some older Nikon and Panasonic then you will see. Most people are expecting too much, we can blame Fuji BS marketing too. Put it aside then you can learn its behavior and have some workaround. First, if AF is hunting, then the speed settings is too high, lower it down until it no longer hunt, sometimes it's too slow to be usable. Each lens needs different settings, even the same zoom lens need different settings at different zoom level! Second, sensitivity should be at 0, higher settings dont mean stickier tracking, just longer delay before it reacquire another subject which could be very harmful in many situations. Fuji stupid AF comes from its tenacity to find new subjects, when there are more than 1 "human" in the frame, it will keep jumping around and around, and it will regconize many non-human objects as "human". I believe Fuji has somewhat reduce this behavior in the new 7.10 firmware. The best focus mode is Area, which it will focus on the closest recognizable face, otherwise it will focus on the small chosen area. The wide/tracking mode is also good, it will only focus on the chosen area or subject (based on shape and color mostly). Avoid the Multi mode, where it will continously search for new subject in the whole frame to focus on, which led to many AF complains.
It's funny how none of the lying sacks of fuji fanboys has come up with this, but instead have shown pumping AF and/or clips filmed at f5.6 saying "Fuji has fixed it". I guess they will all release new videos in the coming week or so and be able to finally show a somewhat working AF as proof. You should call out everyone of em that doesn't throw bitcoin your way.
People on other channels all of a sudden are all complaining about the autofocus causing blurry photos. Im using the fujifilm s1, xq2, x-t20, and my dads using the x100f, and we've never had an autofocus problem or blurry photo problem. @@edvard2942 Sweet, almost as good as years ago, that's almost impressive :)
Worth pointing out that speed setting is lens-dependent. Some are faster, others are not, you gotta find the usable speed for each lens.
