I'd say pack plenty of water and a satellite phone so you don't die in the desert when this thing kicks the bucket but my guess is you will still be in viewing distance of the start line so have at it. All kidding aside...best of luck.
simple until you break a rusted bracket and have no access to welding tools how many inches was your lift to cause u joint issues about to attempt a 3 inch rough country lift neeeeeeeeervousssssss
Hey maybe they don't have a technical inspection of any type out there. Otherwise, maybe a couple of $100 bills in the wallet for "emergencies" will let you still play with the other Jeep people. Never know til you try.
Wow, careful not to fall out the bottom! I did that same trip last year although the jeep wasn't quite like that one. Good luck David!
Sometimes its just cheaper to pay more upfront. This $600 Jeep is going to be a $3000 Jeep anyway once you make it right.
good video but why are these build videos so short I wanna see more content
Looking forward to this series.

Holy crap that's a lot of work left! Good luck. :O
XJ love!
Man, lots of haters in these comments. Bringing an XJ back to life fighting the good fight. Keep it up!
(oh you really need a pop filter)
keep us updated
I like how all the haters got BTFO when this thing actually got to Moab.
No low beam? Guess the light swich may be bad. Happens quite often to pre fl XJ's
You guys kinda glossed over the horrific amount of rust... What did you end up doing with those floorboards?
Nice video..
Those only look slightly rustier than the floor panels in my jeep, which if you didn't look under it, doesn't have any rust
SO how much did you really spend fixing that rust bucket?
Jalopnik, wanna send me a free shirt.. ill become a total sellout promise
:D
are you sure $600 was a good investment?
is this still cheaper than buying a better starting point?
No
y no more jason drives

you're not gonna make it. nine days? no way
why does the video quality look likes its from 2008 lol, not saying the video is bad, just the quality.
Why do people waste their time with old rusty ass jeeps? Every single one i've ever turned a wrench on has been complete junk.
$600 is the reason... they're disposable
you had the wool pulled over your eyes and bought someone else's junk and missed out on all the good jeeps out there
