I remember as a kid growing up back in the 70’s that my dad would always have rolls of duct-tape stashed around the house. He absolutely loved that stuff and considered it to be one of mankind’s greatest inventions! He used to tell me “Son, if something can’t be fixed with duct-tape…. then it’s just not worth having”! 50 years later, you can walk into my home and find rolls of it in every color. 😎

Emily & Clark's Adventure has a dinghy fix that doesn't rely on a glue joint, it is about 11 months old now called: "Deflated Dinghy? Repair it for Under $100". It is recommended for dumpster babies :) The other option is to do a Joshua Slocum and build a boat on the beach, except the boat he built to get his family home was a bit bigger than a dinghy...

I dunno Teal…. We had a inflatable years ago. Ran over a piling in El Salvador and it was impossible to find a ton of hypalon glue. Had to sneak it back in a shampoo bottle from the US. Our hard nesting dinghy is over 20 years old and looks new. Sails better than it rows, rows better than it motors, and motors with the 3.5 for 100 miles on 5 gallons of gas. I will admit I use a rotomolded kayak quit a bit as it’s super low maintenance over coral and rocks. I collected the epoxy, surf glass and misc. hardware mostly in Panama and built the hard dinghy in Ecuador with 3 sheets of cheap plywood. Took a month. Years ago I inherited my fathers 27 year old El Toro and used it for 13 years then gave it to my sister for here family to use. Seems like inflatables have a planned obsolescence of sorts…

The pull test , almost any glue for that stuff will pass, It's the peel test that will determine for holding air that works. Don't bother with a new one till you're spending more that $100 a year in glue and patches. Next one you buy(Zodiac) contact company and get the glue they use(keep in freezer or fridge) .
ADD-On, In marinas and used boat sites, you see lots of no-name and other brand in the garbage and for sale. Rare to see Zodiac's that are not worn out(20 years plus). People seem to keep em till that want something bigger/small, not because they have too many patches. Hard to find a Zod in really good shape, but easy to find others. for most military, police and rescue the Zodiac RIB is the boat of choice

Hey Y’all, you’re one of my two favorite sailing channels. Which is the main reason for my comment today.
Your dingy problem. About a year ago Gone with the Wynn’s channel did a few episodes about searching for
a replacement dingy for their new cat,(which is almost ready). Some interesting reviews, you may want to check out. Don’t know what their or your budget is/was but just thought I would mention it. Again, love y’alls channel.
PLEASE Stay safe and healthy! Reminder: communicate with locals about piracy in their areas. Maybe next dingy could be a really FAST one !?! Have a bug-out bag, extra water and gas to toss in for emergency get away? Call it LIFE insurance 🤔! TEAL! Protect your ladies!!! ⛵️🇺🇸

Teal is so lucky. Before I became a Yorkie king, I was laid off from my company after 17 years. The day after the owners sold the company, the coffee fetching president laid me off. Of course he was fired after they found he had no value. His plan was to fire me, then bring me back, the senior technician, back and not pay me for flight time, overtime but certainly to pay me a meager wage for my 80 hour work week I provided. I ended up buying my first motor home and travelled from Seattle to Texas. I billed out 1000k a daily rate, which was less than what my former company charged. Anyway, I’d bring my now ex wife to come along, she wouldn’t drive the motor home, and when she did, she’d drive well on the shoulder. I told her to keep off the shoulder, as the driver gets to change the tire. Yeah that didn’t happen, but such an argument. You’re lucky the crew steps up and fixes s.
