Can you do an video on changing the carbon ceramics, price, brand, and how long they should last. I just purchased a used 17 with carbon ceramics and got the warning light to change my pads. I looked up a couple options and there close to 1k, idk if that’s normal or not so any help would be appreciated
I've had my car for almost two years.... just was told today I had z07 package. I honestly didn't realize it. After watching your video, I believe the guy was correct.
I agree. I love my 2015 Z06 with the Z07 package. I chose also to replace my Sport Cup 2 tires for new Super Sport tires for same reason. Thanks for the information on the spring rates, I didn't know that. Enjoy I am.
Great upload Justin. Thanks for the shout out. You nailed the comparison dude. Spot on as usual. Congrats again on 1k. Keep up the good vlogs. Lol 😁😁😁 And btw...great shirt. Lol
Great video Justin. I didn't realize there was a difference in suspension between the Z07 package and the regular Z06/Grand Sport. And yes! The brake dust SUCKS!
@@HorsePowerObsessed Yeah. They really are. I am sure we will meet sometime. I look forward to that. Steve I see some. Jason and I hang out 2-3 Saturdays a month. Shooting videos, going to car shows or whatever. We are shooting an ACS upgrade to Camaro tomorrow at my house. Gonna be fun.
18% supercharger overdrive pulley. Long tube headers. Air intake and a tune. I'll have a lot of cooling mods as well but those don't really affect the horsepower initially at least. HorsePower Obsessed I’d do the LT headers if I had the $$$ as well as the lower pulley. That’d be next. Do the headers. You can drive in Stealth for a break. My goal is 750rwhp and torque as high. Looks great man! We had to do some cutting of the pinch weld behind the rear wheels, it’s completely fine on the road but as soon as we hit some trails we were rubbing the 40” Baja Bosses.
I was able to put 17,000 miles on my Sport Cup 2 tires before replacing them and at over 20,000 miles my carbon ceramic breaks are showing very little wear.
When I went to Spring Mountain, Nora Roper, the Assistant Plant Manager at the Corvette Assembly Plant was in my class. I asked her what I should expect my “life” of my tires to be. I had heard 5,000 miles and when I went to Spring Mountain, I had 10,000. She told me that they had a test car at the plant that had 11,000 miles and still tread left. That gave me some reassurance, because I’ve never tracked my car or drove it hard. And when I replaced them at 17,000 miles, they were worn, but they were not horrible.
Any problems with them squealing when you brake? Just bought one has 5400 miles and they start squealing after driving a while, they don't do it when I first start out?
@@HorsePowerObsessed What do I actually ask them is there a version number or just ask if they can see up the upgrade has been done to the suspension and where is the upgrade made, on a body control computer?

@@HorsePowerObsessed Feel the same way. Have noticed a slight decrease especially as we get closer to the delivery of the 2023 ZO6. Thanks, like you UA-cam Page!
I've been watching all of your videos that include the zo6. I am curious. Do you have a video that breaks down 2015-2019. I would like to see what features and changes were made each year as they progress. I don't know if that's something you would do, but I'd watch it if you did.
So the thing I'm confused on is if you buy a c7z that has ONLY the CC Brakes (not the full z07 package) would it still have the stiffer shock/spring settings (to pair with the performance of the stronger brakes)? But then obviously doesn't come with the stage 3 aero, etc
I just bought a pre-owned 2017 ZO6 with the ZO7 package it only has 5400 miles and the brakes have started to squeal? Read that there was service bulletin from Chevrolet that calls for a copper paste on an area by the pads? Anyone else have this problem and do you have any suggestions. Took it to a local dealership and they charged me $175 and noise was back shortly after!
Basically Ceramic Brakes are good for the life of a car considering most guys only put 3-7k miles a year on them. I have 20k on mine, good as new . @theCorvetteMechanic said they are 100k mile Brakes unless you track the car then less but not drastically less. Worth every penny, I wash my rims every three car washes and only out of guilt
I have a 2017 non zo6 package but with the carbon ceramic brakes. I was told these were 100,000 mile brakes if it wasn't tracked & I don't. I had to replace the rear brakes at 2,500 miles fortunately while under warranty! What's your take on this? Thanks & great info.
I've always heard and been told that carbon ceramics will last longer than the car will if it's not tracked. Why did your rear brakes fail? What failed specifically?
They never specifically said why they failed only that they needed to be replaced. And once replaced, the noise/howling was gone. They showed me the $7,500 bill they sent Chevy!
My ZL1 was pretty similar, but the NON-Z07 packaged car is definitely less stiff. Not by a whole lot but it's noticeable which means it has more noticeable body roll in turns as well.
Do you mind if i ask how much did you pay for it? I am looking at a 2019 GS convertible, 3lt ,Z07 package with less than 10k miles. Red color like yours with 7 speed . Dealer asking price is $63500. How much should I offer them out the door? Thank you.
I bought my 2015 red Z06 in 2017 with 2,200 miles on it for 68k. That deal you are looking at now is probably already pretty awesome. Maybe 63k out the door?
Unless you track the car the Z07 package makes no sense. The aero actually makes the car slower, the suspension gets to stiff for street. The carbon ceramic you can get after market, but honestly takes ten minutes to power wash wheel brake dust. I predict this guy will get a ZR1 anyway.
I hear the that these cars have alot of engine failures? Lifter and rockers cams or whatever? Any chance anybody have a possible more reliable daily driving z06 c7 mods upgrades without engine failures? Like what should i replace on the engine for longer lasting anybody here?
These cars are very reliable. From my understanding the only issues really come from extended use of the four-cylinder deactivation. if you have a manual transmission that will never happen unless you have it in eco mode.
HorsePower Obsessed reason i ask is because i have been doing research and there are even a few videos on youtube with engine failures.... and even on the forums many people have been complaining with their near new c7 z06 low miles having engine failures...
That’s why I said “I think,” with a question mark on the end. I wasn’t sure is it was standard or not. Thanks for answering as I am looking to buy one in the next week or so.
So you paid an extra 15k for the z07 track pack and take off the one thing that allows you to utilize that package which is the tires. Should have bout a z06 😆.

Aren’t the brakes $20,000 to replace? I’ve seen invoices for that much but would like to know if you’ve ever gotten one yourself. Would be interesting to get an update!
