    I have to say, this is the best “this is how you do it” video I’ve ever seen. Thanks for this. I just changed the orifice out in less than 3 beers and only two swear words.

    Great video - a bit dated for the 2018 models but it will get you down the right path. I just did the LP conversion for the LG DLGX9001V. The control knob system is built into front door assembly so you can skip the step to remove panel. There are only 2 wire harnesses - one for the controls and one for the door switch. Also there are 2 screws "hidden" behind a sticker - look close there is info on the sticker on how to remove small circles to access screws for service. Lastly the NG nozzle I removed had some sort of sealant and just to be safe I used gas rated Teflon tape (it's yellow). The hardest part was getting LP nozzle to thread in. I DID NOT want to remove the drum so the space is tight but you can do it.

    Very helpful video. I just bought an LG DLG3401W dryer. Miracle that found the part at Lowe's. Good thing I took a photo of the part I needed, as they were no help finding it and wanted 70 bucks to ship a 10 dollar part. LOL! Tomorrow I will give it a shot with my plumber friend. Thanks.

    Great Material!
    You should make a how to video on how to make a how to video!
    Filming was great, information was thourough.
    No kids or pets interupting, no long story about how you came across the dryer in the first place.
    Well Done! APP.

    This was a very helpful video. It almost exactly matched the Kenmore 91182 dryer we just bought. It's very easy to make the conversion to LPG when you have the confidence to take the dryer that far apart. The only hitch I ran into was twisting the drive belt somehow when I put the drum back in. I had to take the dryer apart again to fix it, but it was a quick fix. Thanks for posting this!

      WHY did you remove the drum if it is almost exactly as the video????

    • @paraglideworldwide2643
      @paraglideworldwide2643 7 років тому

      The metal surround that holds the gas nozzle was crimped too tight to even screw in the new nozzle. There was no way to know that without the drum removed. If you are lucky, you would not need to remove the drum.

    Very useful video, there were a few differences to my LG DLZX3371V, but not enough to matter. I had to take the dryer drum out because the small piece on the metal gas intake piece was crimped too tight to allow me to screw in the LP Gas conversion nozzle. I don't think I would have had the confidence to take the drum out without the video. Just like szsven below, I twisted the drive belt the first time putting in in. I got my son to hold the drum level so I could get both hands in there to pull the idler pully and make sure the belt was on correctly.

    Would a NG orifice prohibit the igniter to operate ? Brand new LG wash tower....dryer does not ignite unless you smack the back side of the dryer....then only flames for 10 sec......don't know if they did the conversion to LPG. No sticker visible.

    For a DLG model, pop the top in the front by lifting it with a butter knife enough to expose clip you push in with a flat head, then lift. Might need a box to keep it open. Unplug light plug on top. There are two screws on top and four in front to remove door. Burner is on right. Unscrew gas valve, screw in propane valve. This is the hardest part as it is a small space for fat fingers. Reattach door, plug in plug, close top. Voila!

    I have a 2022 DLGX4201B gas dryer I’m converting to LP with a 383EEL3002D conversion kit. Does my dryer require me to tighten the regulator screw down as well? My owners manual doesn’t mention it in the conversion instructions. But I would bet it needs to be done?

    Or.......You can cut an access panel in the left side of the dryer with tin snips........Approx 4 inches wide by 10 inches tall. And have full access to valve. Make a sheet metal cover plate to cover. Simple. Easy. Fast. Always have future access. 👍

    If you choose to do this without removing the drum, the best way is to remove the burner tube (2 screws) and you have much better access to the orafice. However, when removing the burn tube, be sure NOT to touch the igniter. These igniters are very sensitive and are damaged easily. I know now from experience. Of course, now I will have to remove the drum to install the new igniter. Either way, this isn't a difficult job.

    Awesome video. With small fingers and a short 10mm, i was able to do it without having to remove drum. Probably would have been easier (and less cuts on my fingers) to just remove everything like in the video.

    Very good video, however, it's not nearly as easy as he makes it out to be. It'll take a little time. In particular, track the screws on a piece of paper and toss them into an empty egg carton during disassembly. There were at least 4 or maybe 5 distinct types and sizes.
    Also, I found it a whole lot easier to simply remove the venturi tube (two screws) to get the orifice to thread in. I couldn't get it done without complete disassembly (it should be possible, lots of space to reach around, but I just couldn't get it to thread in). Once in, however, even with the drum out and easy access to the regulator and orifice, it still wouldn't thread in. Once the venturi was off, it was easy to screw it in. (I think the venturi tends to push the orifice off alignment.)

    What if I tighten the pressure regulator to much ? Did I mess it up?

    • @appliancepartspros
      @appliancepartspros  7 років тому

      You should have screwed it down all the way into the valve, tightening until the nut goes all the way to the brass base.

      That would be easier, but unfortunately we are not the manufacturer and we don't have any control over where they put the access panel.
