I just feel like 9 joules is better than coffee when feeding at 3am before work. Lord knows my clumsy tater hole would definitely hit it that early in the morning.
I have to question you on how you put your "T" posts in the ground. Aren't you supposed to hit rock every time you use the post driver so your hands will absorb that shock up the arms. Then hunt around for a spot with no rock for five minutes on each post which keeps you from doing some other task you really needed to accomplish. That way your hands can feel bruised as you go along placing the rest of the posts. Anyway, that's my experience with driving posts.
Troy I some how had been missing your vlogs . Last one you and Mrs were looking at land for some folks a couple months ago. Glad found your channel again.
The yellow t post insulators I get from tsc, that stick out about 2 inches and are square where the part that holds the wire is, will fit on the hog panels. That's how I do mine. The panel wire slips right in where the edge of the t post is supposed to go.
Very good fence charger I myself have a 3 joule 50 mile charger pushing close to 10 kv on most days with 3, 10 foot ground rods on rainy days a little over 11.5 kv
If any PETA/animal rights type show up to harass Troy or family, I want to see video footage of the whole family dishing out a good old fashioned horsewhipping to them.
I really enjoy your videos lots of really good knowledge and how to I live in Mid Michigan but grew up in Northern Michigan tip of the mitt and God willing by this fall I'll be back in Northern Michigan or better yet the U P doing the same as you Berkshire breed though but really like the pastured pigs method wish me luck
Cut a small piece in front of the cattle panel to install the t-post clip for the electric wire, that's what we do. Remember to make sure you tie the top and bottom of the cattle panel section that you cut with wire.
Hi, Troy, another great video featuring your pigs! The sound they make when hitting the fence, ha! ha! Do you ever use the polywire for fencing? We used that pretty well exclusively for our fencing because it was so easy to deal with and move around. We would often change our fencing perimeters and the polywire made it easy. And if we didn't need some we just rolled it up for use another time. We have wire that we've been using for about ten years and it still works great.
love your page! curious- after the farrowing mishap, was it sausage time for old Merida, Noelle and Pepper? Lovely girls, but there are no sustainable petting zoos!
Hi, I have some brush to clear to turn into pasture. My problem is that I have apple trees, will the pigs destroy the root system of those trees? I will view your other video about predator (my other question) Thank you for any answer.
So pigs are nature's rototillers is the real lesson here... no need for expensive equipment or fuel and they provide you with bacon for breakfast... got it.
Lucky you on the cost of your panels.👍👍 - $38.99 for panels in NE GA......😒😒 I was always warned to never plant root crops following pigs. Corn, okra, beans, etc. are OK. No carrots, beets, potatoes etc. because of trichinosis. -KJ
@@RedToolHouse Somebody said you may get in trouble with PETA. Anyone using a drop hammer like that to drive stakes or posts into the ground: wear hearing protection. I've done this before without, and it left my ears ringing for a couple of hours after
Buy it by the ton from a local farmer. 2 pigs will eat a ton of a tote in 6 months. When I bought it by the bag I spent $980 per ton. By the ton bulk it was $385 last year. Same feed for less than half the price. Go to your local cooperative extension to find a local farmer that sells bulk feed. Good luck.
Well like everything price has gone way up and Troy mentioned that he bought those panels a while back. Cattle panels were much cheaper just two years ago 😳

I'm sorry I laughed at their pain, Troy you nailed it
That sound never gets old. Fried Bacon

Troy this is one of the things that I like about your videos you work smarter not harder.

Any other place on the farm, yes. Fortunately, this area actually has soil
😂🤣So true!

Their little squeals are so cute, now I'm going to have to get some pigs and electric fence.
Have had a Power Wizard for about a year now and am happy with it. Its a dual power that I can select between 2.5 and 5 joule.
Love your videos! I need to watch more

Well done.
Looking good. Maybe putting some shaving in would help the ground more. Pigs are really looking good. Blessings🙂
If they don't make the insulators you're looking for, you could always 3d print some.
Very good fence charger I myself have a 3 joule 50 mile charger pushing close to 10 kv on most days with 3, 10 foot ground rods on rainy days a little over 11.5 kv
Troy that little chuckle about the 9kv getting their attention is going to get you in trouble with PETA!

21 days, complete plowed thru
Looks like I’m gonna have to bring out the 3d printer
Get some clips 3d printed for cattle panels

Said "9 joule" and I went "spicy!".

Great vid.
you could probably print something out with a 3d printer for your cattle panels to hook that fence to!!
Use the insulator what you use for wooden post just zip tie it to the Hog panel
I think you might use the clips for fiberglass post for your electric fence
If you haven't found any offset insulators for cattle panels, yes those things are available, or should be.

I love power wizard I have 3 joule pushing close to 10,000 volts
4-5days
Use a water bottle or pvc pipe on the panels cut to fit👍
Get a haircut hippy!! Lol Thanks for the video!
18 days to potato 🥔 planting
So pigs are nature's rototillers is the real lesson here... no need for expensive equipment or fuel and they provide you with bacon for breakfast... got it.
Troy, where can I buy some of the red waddle pigs?
You keep pushing your hair back, you need to follow my site's advice and get your hair cut 😁

Trichinosis is hardly an issue these days. Especially in pastured pigs.
@@RedToolHouse I really like you guys and wouldn't want anything to happen, ❤🙂

have they destroyed your rototiller yet?
every bit 5 days maximum
How do you keep predators out?
7 days!
Why not experiment making insulators from pvc pipe. It can be heated and reformed.
I did not see a link to the new fence charger.
Five days probably gonna be less though my official thought that was five days
I’d love to find $25 cattle panels!
Couldn’t you lower the voltage? It seems to be very strong. Those squeals sound painful.
3-4 days training. 3-7 days and the lot will be ready.
My local mill charges 17.99 for a 50# bag of 18% feed, is that too high for a good profit

What's your thoughts on keeping wild hogs OUT ?
Not an issue here but it is my understanding it works both ways.
I’d say about 5 days.
Are all these pigs purebred Red Wattles? Are some of these Pigs Cross Pigs??
Some are crossed with old line duroc
Is your kilavolt the same as a joulle?

9 joule + piglet = bacon.
Something happened to your video showing the hours and the progress of the potato patch. It was all over exposed. Couldn't really see anything.
That was the idea, no one to see the job done by the pigs
1 month
Maybe use wide tape so they can see the electric....
9000volts is too hot and more than necessary to train these little hogs.IMO
