Haha the Pimptress cracks me up. No encouragement for the Pimp's shenanigans. Good luck on whatever it is you're training for, I'm sure you'll rock it!
Wonderful surprise in the mailbox today. Thanks a million for the Pimp Drip, or whatever it ended up being called. Can’t wait for breakfast to have some. It has a nice color to it. And another surprise today, the comfrey is starting to poke through! So a double treat for me. Thank you again.
Thanks for the shoutout Billy! You're right about that "store-bought" compost and the nitrogen issues. With your help we rebounded in a big way. Nice tater haul!
Your wife is a sweetheart, I see where your son gets his good looks! Red potatoes are my favorite! I did a hugelkultur/lasagna raised garden and I used a lot of kitchen scraps. It must’ve had potatoes in it because I had lots of volunteer baby white bonus potatoes this month! God bless!
Aw, you love her Billy... that’s so cool to see. People forget those of us who are no longer 20 still do love our partners and have fun with them. If you’re not having any fun at all- you’d better fit some in. It can’t be all heads down to work.
I love the look on Michelle’s face and I know exactly how she feels; when you guys tease us on a video🙈. Great info as usual. I need some pointers from her to help me get in shape; I have a longggg way to go 🙏🏻🙏🏻
I just want to say how much our family enjoys watching your show! You have such a great way of explaining things for us beginners! Thank you for all you are doing, keep up the good work!
Awesome video! Enjoyed watching you both on here together and having a great time digging them taters lol 😂👍🏻👍🏻 Life is way too short not to have fun. We really enjoy you guys and since we’ve been watching y’all compost has taken on a whole new meaning to us now. GOD Bless Y’all & LORD willing we will see y’all on the next video!! 🙏🏻😇👍🏻🙌🏻😊😊
I'm new to the game and you do a great job of breaking down concepts in an entertaining as well as informative manner. Thanks for sharing your thoughts and journey.
Sean @The Modern Yeoman is amazing. He was a big help to us when we had issues at the begging of the season. Not to mention his video production is above and beyond.
Wow! Great harvest for such a small space. We've been very busy lately but we've been watching all your videos and learning. We're looking forward to finally put your methods to action in about a month.
Billy...I've been trying to comment for awhile...wanted to properly thank you for the delicious honey and the comfrey root starts...a better format for me is by phone or in person...I hear the latter is a possibility when your workload lessens a bit...the welcome mat is always out but give us a 'heads up' as we do leave occasionally...keep on the "sunny side" of life...Mr Wayne
Good point about compost. I started making my own from leaves, bagged grass and some kitchen scraps. Plan to make more. Question there Airborne: do you think I can use pine tree chips or do you think it's better to use hardwood chips? Thanks for all you and your family do!
Nitrogen fixation is really important. Just having a diverse environment alone creates little niches in nature. Do yall ever review older videos for kicks just to see progress through the years? Firm believer in the sheet gardening. Great vid.
Thank you my friend! I really should take more time to go back and look at things but I seldom do. I’m so focused on trying to move in the right direction that I likely lose the benefit of examining where I’ve been.
The size of those pigs. Hmmm! Sure look ready for eating. As for the sweet potatoes. My grandparents always say. Plant big patch. So, the rat will have some on the outside only. Good luck you guys. Happy farming.
Hey y'all have you done any cover crops in the food forest like clover or other easy to grow nutrient crops that you can cut in place since it is too short to chop and drop? I have been growing this in the bad areas of the yard and it comes up well grows nice then a cut it off and put it all in the compost bin or directly into a garden bed. I know it is aggressive but if you cut it before it seeds it is fine.
We bought a property back here in Portugal that has lots of water and lots of fruit trees, olive trees, etc, but it has been abandoned for 10 years, and the fruit it's not growing well, any tips for that? sorry to be so direct but your opinion would be gold, thank you!
In all honesty I would have to probably see it to give you specific advice… so if you would be willing to purchase a plane ticket for me I would be happy to come take a look! Just kidding. If it’s been abandoned for 10 years then there’s likely a great many things that need correction. Send some photos at billy@permapasturesfarm.com and I’ll see what we can advise.
Does your bone stuff keep rats and mice away ? Since this damn pandemic we seemed to have acquired a few homesteading around here with us. One even cost me over $1000 after chewing some wires above my gas tank in my 2 year old car. I waited 15 years to get a new car and its not gonna get chewed up by rats and mice if I can help it. I’d paint everything I have with your bone concoction. Please let me know. Desperate in Texas.
We haven’t seen any evidence that it works on rats and mice, but in all honesty, we haven’t really tested for that. We will soon. Sorry about the awful problems!
Thanks for the shout out billy! And you’re looking damn good in that shirt I need to pay you for some model shots.🤩❤️
It’s a great honor to wear it bro!
Thanks
Nothing like fresh potatoes from the garden. Break it deep for carrots. Awesome partners.
Thank you as always my friend!
Love your channel. I really love your enthusiasm and the rapport with your wife.
Thanks a million! It comes easy with her.
Haha the Pimptress cracks me up. No encouragement for the Pimp's shenanigans. Good luck on whatever it is you're training for, I'm sure you'll rock it!
Thanks a million!
Those pigs make me smile. I keep expecting them to trip and roll down the slope.
It’s pretty crazy how they operate in there!

@@PermaPasturesFarm21 you’re welcome! 👍🏻🙌🏻👍🏻🙌🏻
Keep it up Billy. I absolutely love your VIDs because of the philosophy it expresses.
Thank so much my friend!
I'm new to the game and you do a great job of breaking down concepts in an entertaining as well as informative manner. Thanks for sharing your thoughts and journey.
Thank you my friend! The real trick is trying to find an entertaining way to explain mundane tasks without turning into a reality show.
Sean @The Modern Yeoman is amazing. He was a big help to us when we had issues at the begging of the season. Not to mention his video production is above and beyond.
He’s definitely an extraordinary guy! I’ll look forward to getting to know him better.
Nice haul of potatoes! Nicely done both of you! 👍
Thank you!

Thanks a million sir! I look forward to meeting you once I get a few things in place.

We use pine all of the time. Just keep in mind that it’s going to require a lot more nitrogen to break it down.

The pigs are looking good.
Almost too good. I gotta figure out how to thin them out.

They could definitely go to the freezer anytime but they are doing so much awesome work right now.
I Love this stuff !!
Very Nice 👍❣️🔥🎧🎼🎵🎶 Friend 🎶🎵
Thank you!
Where does the pig manure go? Does that get composted?
It stays in the area where they were located. They don’t stay long enough for it to be a problem though.

With all of those wood chips down it’s tough to do it in the food forest but we do it in great abundance in other areas in much the same way as you.

@@PermaPasturesFarm21 I will do that!
Technoblade would be proud
Look at Will go!! 🤣. He had to put the camera down and help
I’m sooo blessed that he doesn’t mind working!

bone saw??
Bone sauce 😂 it’s this really stinky stuff Billy makes to keep the animals away
We start with a bone saw…but it becomes bone sauce.
Hard as woodpeckerlips 😂
Just keeping it real my friend!
🧡🧡🧡🧡
I'm thinking you could rent those pigs out to break down the grass in other yards.
Yes indeed! I’m doing that very thing.
💪 😂😂😂💪
Man my potatoes are just starting to die now but it’ll be couple more weeks before I get to my tatters.
I look forward to watching it bro!
💗
Billy why man, why. "The best color person in the business." SMH. Bro do better. Peace and blessings my friend.
It’s a line fro Major League.
