Really great video, Roger. One observation - I’m guessing in order to access the sanding discs at the top shelf of this unit, the door would have to essentially slide right up (to essentially twice the height of the unit itself) meaning you’d have to mount this quite low on a wall for it to work as intended? Cheers
Anothe good video. I was looking at my sanding discs yesterday and thought I needed to do something to tidy them up and keep them all together. I now have a functional idea, thanks 😊
hi Roger, Great build project just the thing that is needed in the workshop and being honest that has give me an idea for my workshop, I need to store my sanding discs and sheets of sand paper. As always a great video catch you soon Take care
Hi. Like the project. To me in a workshop anything has to be practical before being pretty although how it looks has to be neat if you know what I mean. I find myself cringing again though. A few vids ago I commented on the fact you had the drawstrings dangling loose when using powerful saws! Sorry but as an ex H&S rep I see the dangers and it makes me squirm. Enjoy the Chanel though 😊keep em coming👍
@@thegarageworkshop4791 Welcome to my world. I love natural wood so my go to is sanding to 150-180 then Tung or Danish oil x 2-3 coats then wood wax burnished on with kraft paper. IE Amazon packing paper.
Now your router table is up and running why didn't you route out grooves into the sides to take the shelves making assembly easier for yourself? Don't mount it too high up,allow for the sliding door to open!
I did consider that, but I want to keep the box are useable as poissibel in case I use it for something else in the future....and I wanted to keep it structurally sound :)
Couldn’t have come at a better time for me. Looking forward to this one

Thansk Mark !
I like this idea. Something for a future project
Thanks for the feedback Mark :)
Your intro reminds me of the Detectorists 🙂
Ha ha .....I'm taking that as a compliment :)
Really nice build, and great use of the table router
Thanks Matt...much appreciated!

Thanks Shaun!
It's very impressive if you set it up horizontally, you could add another layer.
Hi MArk...yes I was thinking that....it may go on my dusk extraction above the router table

Hi Paul. Thanks for the reminder, I will tuck them in in future.
I just see the table saw blade grabbing one and dragging your face in to the blade. Sorry to be negative but if it highlights dangers it’s worth it.😊
@@paulwright6145 Totally agree Paul thanks for the feedback
Nice project. Do you have any thoughts on a finish? Take care & stay safe.
Hi Doug,....Finish is my Achilles heal! Any suggestions?

You wouldn't be able to fix it to the wall very high with that sliding front panel
Hi Peter....I am thinking of putting it horizontally not vertically...but I get your point :)
