Try soaking the mdf edges with a little superglue, it works for hardening them up for templates etc
Great tip...thanks I will try that!
Hi Roger, Good home made jig, just whats needed, shame that your palm router didn't came with a square jig, but both of your jigs does the job. As always a great video catch you soon Take care
Thanks Shaun...I know iot's weird isn't it...Not sure if Makita do either.
Hey Roger...... I like that.....might need to make me one of those....I see that useful for many things, my first thought is it would be great for cutting out the wood bases for sharpening stones or plates. Thanks as always for your content
Thanks Adam! Much appreciated!
Watch your fingers on that table😮
Will do John thank you!
If you're sure of your measurements, then using a marking knife instead of the sharpie will give you a cleaner cut with the router.
Yes it would...never thought of that...thanks for the feedback!
Great jig. If you wanted to router a hole for a specific size piece, I suggest using double-sided tape on an offcut of that wood, then putting the jig around it, removing it, and then router the hole. No mistakes with sharpie.
Great advice Mark thank you!
The nice thing about your jigs is that they won't take up much space to store. I have seen other vids (maybe Takuwoodcraft?) where they position the jig against the square object, as opposed to drawing around the object, you may get closer with that. I flinched a bit at the table saw without the guard and the reach over. I also have the Katsu, which I have found really good. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks Calum...much appreciated!
Thanks for the two reviews. I wonder if they have sorted out the issues as looking at this myself.👏👍
Not sure James but it's a different model now
@thegarageworkshop4791 It's still called the PT254 on their website so hopefully they've made the modifications regarding the fence and handle.👍
Happy new year Rog, what a brilliant round up.. I might pinch the idea for a video 😉 really enjoyed the challenge and our live stream with Frank. I agree the adhesive video is very funny.. it’s good to show mishaps 😂 my vids have many 😂 Love your channel.. I must say I thought your lathe vid was better 😉 Here’s to 2025 , Cheers Rob
Happy New Year Rob! Hope all is good with you and your kin :) I'd love to see your highlights for 2024 Rob...Love your channel too mate and I hope I did well enough on the live stream to be invited back! Take care :)

My first time watching your channel, will watch again. A small tip, I have a couple of vacs which use disposable bags and I slit the bottom open and use thin plastic U channel to keep the bag sealed which means I can get several uses of the bag before it needs replacing.
Thanks for the advice...I will try that and thanks for watching!
Thank you for the round up. Looking forward to your 2025 videos. Happy New Year.
Thanks Calum ...happy New Year!
Hi Rodger new sub from weekend shedhead Frank the ten minute workshop and bourbonmouth. Been on catch ☝☝
Hi Rod..welcome to my channel thanks for the sub!
Hi Roger, hope you had a brilliant Christmas, Got to agree I liked the video on your air compressor and another video I liked of yours is the multi function work bench build and the covering in black vinyl on the workbench and of course one of the hosts on Shed Space a few weeks ago. As your self a big fan of Peter 10 minute workshop and Rob Weekend Shedhead. Keep on making videos and i'll keep on watching them, I wish you and yours all the best for 2025, catch you soon Take care
@@shaun30-3-mg9zs T thanks so much Shaun great feedback as ever…..happy new year to you and your family too!

Great round-up Roger, and I'm honoured to have a video in your Top 5, thank you! Good to chat with you at Makers Central too, and brilliant to see you doing so well; remember, everyone you watch on UA-cam, no matter how they may appear now, they all started in the same place, with no views and no subscribers. Keep showing up, making great content and you'll grow your audience. HNY! Peter.
Hi Peter Happy New Year to you and your family! Thank you so much for taking the time to comment...I know you are changing things up for next year and I look forward to seeing how your channel evolves...It's always my mainstay for advice :) I will keep your wise words in mind Peter..... ;)
5 out of 5 Makers I watch too! Hope your 2025 is safe, healthy and happy. Take care & stay safe.
Thanks Doug...Happy New Year to you and you family. Glad we have the same taste!
I hope Lidl make a Parkside 20v version for around the £40-50 mark (without battery). I'd almost certainly pick one up. I have a Stanley Fatmax (which I've currently broken through tinkering with the power takeoff - my own fault) for my shop dust collection and the corded Evolution for my general-purpose shop cleaner. To have a cheap cordless for taking to site/cleaning the car etc... would be great. Not sure I'd go for this one as it does look a bit too cheaply made & I don't fancy another battery system. Looks alright. Thanks for the honest review.
Thanks Rooster!
Great honest review as usual Roger, really enjoyed the live you did with Frank and Rob hope you do another one soon. Have a great Christmas and Happy New Year to you and your family.
Thank you Mark...much appreciated!
Hi Roger, Good and honest review on this battery workshop vac, and for the money looks like it can do a bit, some times cheep can be cheerful. Thanks for your test run on this might be the vac for the car and saw dust. As always a great video and I like to wish you and yours a Merry Christmas and all the best for 2025, catch you soon Take care
Merry Christmas Roger, to you and your family 👍
And to you Jim!
I bought it and used it as a smaller, more handy addition to my monstrous Karcher WD6. It will predominantly serve as a wet vac, as Karcher bags really filter the particles of dust (both via the bag and the another large filter). Still M-class, but I like it more. Karcher also has a power-through option; however, it works more like an extension cable: the socket is permanently live if the plug is live. I like that feature, as sometimes I just need the extension cord, without having an extension cord and I must admit, I was running 2200W through it without any problems (thicknesser/ Makita planer) Overall, I like it - not the top of the range, but for 69.99 (-5% trade discount) you will really struggle to buy something better. And on the note of interfaces, in the UK, google Dan Goodyear plastic printing - cheap, very good quality connectors built to your demand.
Thanks for the feedback that's mega useful!
I have the cordless evolution vac & I found myself grabbing it often in the workshop to clear bench or floor rather than dragging main vac around. Very handy Happy Christmas 🎄
Thanks Dave...hope you are keeping well mate :)
Again, interesting review. I actually have the Parkside 20v vacuum, and it is very good for small jobs when I'm out and about. Trust me, if you're planning to pair it up with a router table, you'll be disappointed. Even with a 4ah battery, it soon runs out of steam. That said, it is still going strong after years of use, and cost just shy of 20 quid, bare unit.
Thanks for the fedback..what's the Parkside vac like?
Actually it's very good. I often use it with with a plunge saw, an electric planer and a trim router when I'm swinging doors. It is easy to source replacement bags, and the 4ah batteries are not expensive. I did once try it on my router table when making shaker doors, but it filled up rather quickly, and went through batteries for fun. All said and done, I'm very happy with the purchase, and would not hesitate to give it a big thumbs up!
@@whomadethatsaltysoup Thanks for that I will check it out next time it is on sale
Nice review. Thinking I stick to my mains powered orange & black with power takeoff tool outlet and a splitter block so both the table & miter are plugged in and I just have to switch the hose from tool to tool. Take care & stay safe.
Don't blame you Doug!
Hey Roger..... detailed review...thanks.....I have bought a couple of vac's in the last few years but I have two "old" full power henry's.....they remain the best vacs. I do need a good extract for the workshop though and bought a TEMU cyclone and a barrel but could do with a BIG vac to use with it.. Another 'round tuit' job! have a great christmas to you and your loved ones
Hi Adam... a cyclone is on my hit list for 2025...I have a started project but it's not finished...How was the TEMU one? Have a great Christmas too!
I have my TEMU cyclone attached on a bird fat ball bucket and attached to the Lumberjack dust collector. Really easy to put together. Standard cheap hole saw kit has the right size cutout 76mm. Worked quite well so far with the lathe shavings.
@@calumdickinson9570 Thanks Calum!
@@thegarageworkshop4791 Hey Roger....as I mentioned I have got around to it as yet..... I will try in the new year.
@@calumdickinson9570 Thanks for the advice Calum....will give it a go in new year
inside the workshop, I think I would keep as corded, this allows for turning on at same time as the tool. Good idea about keeping the wheels off, I put them on the Titan I bought and had to chase it around, trying to clip the top on after switching to wet mode. At 74, with battery and charger, that is fairly decent but I would choose using a longer extension cord. Also, was it only a short hose that came with it? Thanks for sharing the review. Merry Christmas!
Hi Calum,..,.Yes I agree...I have used it a few times since the review and to be fair it is supper handy!
Hello Roger just wanted to say happy Christmas to you and your family. I enjoyed the live the other night it was great to see you more relaxed and the banter between the 3 of you was good fun
Thanks Thomas...same to you and your kin! Thanks and I know I seem unrrlaxed on my videos and serious that's something I want to change in the New Year!
Your review of the T8 router was excellent! Probably, IMHO, the best you have posted to date. Everything about it sounds fab' , except the 100db plus noise level. Okay, I get it, with a shopvac on the go, every operation will be unpleasant, and require ear defenders, but, as you point out, it is not the same as a chop saw, where the loudness is intermittent, but relatively constant. Anyway, thanks for taking the time to share.
Thank you and the same to you
niceone Roger.....
Thanks Adam!
I currently buy planed redwood here in the UK for projects and looked at instead getting a cheap planer and buying rough sawn wood and making it myself for less. After running the numbers it's not viable and still cheaper to buy pre-planed timber. Even when considering rough wood from Facebook marketplace etc. Good review though, thx
Yeah you aqre probably right top be fair.
Very nice presentation
Thank you!
hey Roger....I have a plasticy router table which Ive had for year which I bought secondhand.....I tried to use it but find the set up challenging particularly getting the height adjustment.....think I might (in the future (as with all my jobs) make a box with a height adjuster so I can lift the bit height accurately
That's a great idea Adam!
Hey Roger.....nice job......that saw is a nice bit of kit
Hi Adam...yeah i am very lucky!
Well done Roger - keep the content coming!
Thanks Duncan!
I like that Idea Roger//////When I get time I might do something similar....... boxes seem hefty £'st ho!
They are but the unit takes it well...one of my best buils!
Hey Roger..... Well done on the box.sometimes there a lot of pleasure from simple effective builds
Thanks Adam!
Well done happy Christmas
Happy Christmas Martin!
Hey Roger. Re: wood storage, I built a false wall in the front of the "long" wood and board storage area which gave me back wall space..... might be something to consider. Great way the shop is developing. My issue is I am always so busy doing stuff outside and inside the house that the workspace becomes a quick functional space rather than a well built and thought out workshop...... I will in time get round to it.
That's a fab idea Adam
Hey Roger......good challenge but think Rob may have edged you...... With the sander there should be an adjuster know or screw to alter the roller angle which keeps the belt in place. As others have mentioned it is always good to use a sacrificial board underneath but for this I would have just made a little jig the width of your timber then fit a square guide wood sor your saw....easy then just pop it in and perfect cuts to where you want. ....will go through your back catalogue over the next few weeks so expect a few more comments. Its all good
Thanks Adam and I agree Rob outdid himself. I have looked for a grub screw or other but can't find it. I just need to look at other reviews.
Sorry for the second comment mate but also you could have angled the back edge of the slats to reduce the "bind" on the internal radius. Thanks
Never thought of that...
Hey Roger.....I have in the past for a blind repair used EVO-STIK contact adhesive..... Old school contact adhesive......I used this for many applications and its always been the best..... Just going through your old back catalogue so Im probably telling you what you already know now..... Great videos thus far
That's a fab idea!
Congratulations Roger 😊🤙🏼🇦🇺
