All the electrical that was submerged in salt water has to be replaced...................Any wallboard not replaced will have mold that gets worse over time. I doubt she can afford to have it demolished and rebuilt as any insurance she has won't COME CLOSE to covering the cost to rebuild the entire property with current hurricane specs that are required by law
Florida's state run insurance finances (since many private insurers have mostly left the state) has to be in trouble now. I heard they were already short of dollars. And that is probably where she is insured, if she has any insurance. If she has a mortgage, she would have to have some sort of insurance. So sad for her. She might have flood insurance, I hope.
Sad thing is that she probably doesn’t have flood insurance so she will have to borrow money to rebuild her business, and interest rates are really high right now!
Everyone was required to have flood insurance if u have a mortgage this was optional ? Not the big 3 in Florida no way they all said zone a needs flood insurance if I recall not one dime for me just huge premiums and hit hard by IAN
@@KellyScaglione-c3e I don’t think you understand. Only around 15% of Americans have flood insurance. This is a statistical fact and you can look it up if you have any doubts. On the plus side, by not having insurance, they were able to use that money for years and years and possibly decades to do other important things with. Hopefully they saved for a rainy day.
@@igit_7296 If she had a mortgage on the property she had flood insurance, she is definitely in a fema designated flood zone. That said, it still wouldn’t come close to demolish/rebuild.
@@PinellasPatriotsorg sure, but only around 14% or 15% of Americans live in floodplains. Most do not. An overwhelming majority of Americans do not bother with flood insurance. They just skip it. Just like the folks in Asheville.
Well they have plenty time to rebuild, not anyone going there anytime soon.
And this is why the insutance of people who don't live on the coast will go up--again.
Don't rebuild 🤦⚡
Should those effected by wild fire, tornadoes, etc..re-build?

In Florida, if you have a mortgage, they will require you to have flood insurance in Zone A.
