I bought an FS-6 clone made by Loopi (a Gold Coast pedal manufacturer) for $36 and it works just the same to control Boss looper pedals. Plus it doesn't require a battery. The only difference is the A and B are the other way around on the Loopi clone. The other thing to note is the Loopi pedal is unlatched only, but that is what you want with the boss loopers. Loopi also sell a latching version of the FS-6 for controlling other sorts of devices. I actually have a brand new FS-6 still in its packaging but i might sell it now. edit: actually A and B controls can be switched around (same with the Boss FS-6).
Thanks for the video, I have been wanting to expand on my solo act (strolling cowboy/musical wallpaper while dining). I want to incorporate the RC-30 along with my Bose L1 Compact and Digitech Vocal 3. You've been a big help, would like to see more.
Thanks for the kind words Groovin JR. I will try to feature the loop station in another video soon but for now you check out my cover of Wicked Game. ua-cam.com/video/Fx_khzRcUAU/v-deo.html Cheers, :-))
Thanks so much for this demo. I never fully read my manual so until now I never realized that I could attach a footswitch to switch between the two tracks. Until now, in an A/B tune where I am looping on both sections, I've had to re-record the A rhythm when finished with B. I was thinking I'd need an RC-300 to solve this problem, but now I realize that a simple footswitch will do! One question: on my RC-30, the playback volume is ridiculously high compared to the thru signal, so that I must keep my volume sliders at about the second hash-mark; if I move them even slightly from their ideal position, the playback volume becomes radically high or radically low. Do you have this problem, and if so do you know of a solution. I looked thru the manual to see if maybe there was a master-volume knob somewhere, but cannot find any such thing. What I want to do is dramatically reduce the playback volume, so the I can have more dynamic range in my sliders. Thanks!!
You are most welcome. Thank you for the kind feedback. As for your volume issue, I`m not aware ,of any other way of controlling that other than the sliders..sorry. Please drop a comment here If you find a solution. Cheers. :-)
Nice tutorial man... I'm about to get an RC30 and was toying with the idea of the FS6 along with it already. I think if I'm able to use the FS6 to have a bit simpler control over the RC30 then it can't be a bad idea 😊. I've never used a loop pedal before so the simpler it is, the better 😊
Damien Johanssen Hey thanks for the comments mate. This pedal is definitely very easy to use and the addition of the Fs6 makes changing tracks a whole lot easier. Best of luck buddy. 🤘🎸🤘
Hi Chris, I just picked up a rc30+fs5u and this video has been great! Can you let me know if the following is possible.. I want to play lead over a song with two chord progressions (verse & chorus). I can loop the verse chords in track 1, and chorus chords in track 2. What is the best way to seamlessly switch between the two tracks? This is what I'm doing currently and there's no way my feet are fast enough to do this live.. I hit left pedal to play track 1, hit external to switch to track 2, as track 1 finished I double click right pedal to stop all and immediately hit left pedal to play track 2. Is there a better way to do what I want? Or just impossible? Thank you so much!
Hey man, great video. Is there a way to play both tracks right away at the same time? I know that we can stop both tracks at the same time by stepping on the stop pedal.
Hey mate, thanks for the comments. I`m pretty sure If you`ve stopped both tracks, when you press play again they both start playing. Hope that makes sense...lol
Chris Memphis I just figured out that while on track 2 (nothing is playing), holding the stop button won’t actually bring me back straight to track 1, but instead both tracks would lit up. So if I step on play, both tracks would play.
So, when you change tracks with the external footswitch, does that swap from *playing* one track to playing the other, or is it simply that it 'activates' the other track (i.e. makes it available to overdub/play/stop with the two on-board switches)? This makes a huge difference to using the pedal for verse/chorus performance.
great video. Can you tell me about the switch "polarity" in the FS-6 dual boss?? how to use this option (polarity) I dont now anything about "polarity" I think I m gonna damage my boss pedal. I use rc3 loopstation boss, I use it to change channel of my amp and sometimes to change the mode o f distortion in my turbo distortion boss anda digital delay DD7. Please .

Hey man I loved your video!! I was wondering if I could record a loop and once I finish recording it, instead of pressing play (playback or overdub), I could press stop, so it is recorded but not played back immediately, so I could use that recording further down the song, in bridge for example. This feature is helping me decide between this looper and Ehx 22500. Thanks a lot!!!
Yes, holding the left pedal down for longer than two seconds should move the memory channel up one number. Holding down the right one for longer than 2 seconds should move it down.
Does anyone have problems when recording a loop and then stopping it (with right pedal, just because you dont wanna play it at that moment, but afterwards)? Because with tempo unnabled it's impossible for me to make the loop correctly (and i dont think it is a rhytmic problem).
Hey man, I have not come across this problem myself.. I actually had to just go try it and yeah It works fine.. Let me know if you solve it bro. And thanks for watching mate. :-)
Lets say you have a 4 bar loop that you recorded. If you want to dub in something in the later half of the loop that tails into the beginning of the loop... can you do that???? Guess what I’m asking is. If you have a 4 bar loop that’s in time, can you engage the record function, play a lick at any time? Or do you have to start every recording at the downbeat of the 4 bar loop.
Hey thanks Ky. To clear a loop completely you need to first stop the loop by pressing the stop pedal then hold down both Stop/Start pedals for 2 seconds and that will clear it. Hope this helps and thanks for watching. Cheers :-))
Hi Saige Brugmann, Thanks for watching. The short answer is No it doesn`t, sadly. However it does make it easy to activate the other track instead of having to press and hold the pedal down for 2 seconds, but you will still need to use the stop button on the RC-30. Cheers :-))
This pedal's effects board is trash; only the last two are even usable, and they're global making them even worse. The FS-6 extension is much better utilized when set up to accompany the 4 track looper with single taps, instead of having to hold them for x amount of time, and all the hassle associated with that.

That sounds cool man. Thanks for sharing. 👍
Very good. Straight to the point without any waffle. Appreciated.
Thanks so much, appreciate it mate.
You can see it in action here ua-cam.com/video/Fx_khzRcUAU/v-deo.html

Nice introducitin im getting it in this cant wait to use it
Awesome man, you will love it!

you are the yetti my dear, nice vid...
could you use that boss FS-6 to go up and down between the various loops you've saved on the looper?

There’s also a volume knob on your instrument 😂

Cool. Thanks for this dude. I'll definitely be getting the FS-6 now :)
Not a problem mate. It sure does make changing tracks a whole lot easier..lol

Adorei seu vídeo, como faço pra importar mais sons para este mesmo banco?
Thanks for the video!
Not a problem, thanks for watching. :-))

Also by long pressing ( 2 sec ) any of A or B you would be able to switch between memory.
when switch can it play automatic?
nice one dude. how about toggling between the 2 channels...?
Thanks mate, yeah the FS-6 does really help with that too.
Thanks heaps for this.
Not a problem mate. :-)
Can i also use a drum machine with the boss rc-30? I know you can connect a mic and the guitar but what about a drum beat machine?
Yes, absolutely. Just use the 1/4 jack in. Should be sweet mate. :-)
Thanks for demo of the FS. I have a 30, thinking about a FS. i think the effects on the box is the most useless waist of resources! otherwise...

Pretty sure you`d have to let it repeat at least once before stopping it.
Cheers :-)
No, you absolutely can do that. You have multiple choices for playback and recording which he didn't really cover here.
@@JeighNeither thanks buddy! I bought it. And figure out that I can do what I needed it to do. Hahah thanks!!!
Can you set it up so the A button changes memory banks instead of toggling the fx?
Yeh mate, just press and hold. :-)
You actually anticipated bad guy from billie eilish
OMG! I want royalties... BAHAHA
Dude, did are a ti d traveler or how'd you end up playing Bad Guy? 😂
is there a way to have the A and B switch on the FS 6 change the memory slots on the RC 30?? I cant figure it outtt
Yes, holding the left pedal down for longer than two seconds should move the memory channel up one number. Holding down the right one for longer than 2 seconds should move it down.
nice tutorial dude

I'm guessing no. You need to record a 4 bar loop with some empty space for the tail and then record the tail.
4:00 is where you wonna go...
Thank me later
oh man, put a shoe, or at least a sock
😂😂😂 Noted!
I thought excatly this, come to the comments to see if anyone else agreed hahaha
so the FS-6 is really helpful for easier access to the RC30's tiny buttons for controlling the built in FX, and switching between channels? yes?
Yes, it makes switching tracks so much easier especially in a live situation.
Thanks for the comment. :-))
so an operator cannot adjust tempo 'remotely' via the FS-6. You still have to reach down and adjust tempo with your hands, right?
nice vid but how do u clear a loop completely ?
Hey thanks Ky. To clear a loop completely you need to first stop the loop by pressing the stop pedal then hold down both Stop/Start pedals for 2 seconds and that will clear it.
Hope this helps and thanks for watching. Cheers :-))
Chris Memphis_Music Thanks so much man !
Are you able to turn certain tracks on and off with the FS-6?

The effects are totally unusable on this. terrible!!
Yeah, they could be a lot better... Not really the point of the pedal though to be fair. Thanks for watching. :-)
