      Agreed, the manual sucks.. I still don't understand how the 'tap tempo' thing works? can you set the rhythm like a metronome? does nothing when you press the button or right pedal?

    This is the first tutorial on the RC-30 that's actually clear and concise to where I don't have a ton of questions afterward. The really funny thing about that is, this is also the shortest, time-wise. Thanks, Brenna Lynn!

    There are 2 input and 2 output jacks on the back. I was plugged into one of each of those. What I discovered is that I have to be plugged into the MONO INPUT jack, and the MONO OUTPUT jack not the other 2 input and output jacks.. When I changed the plugs around then the power came on. Great clear concise video.

    Exactly what I was looking for. I hate when everyone keeps on explaining the tempo or back track drum beat but instead you went for beatbox and how to record in both sides. Very informative!

    Great tutorial.
    One thing you should add in the video that saved me alot of time and peace of mind.
    On the first track when you record your loop and press play to end your loop it goes automatically in to overdub mode.
    So you have to press twice or stop.
    This is a default behavior which can be changed to only overdub when you press play again.
    So on the first loop has ended it just repeat and dont record/overdub automaticly.
    To change this, torn off the unit and hold the "type" button in the rythm section.
    Then power on the unit while the button is pressed, when it has started you can change the default behavior.
    Hope this helps!
    Cheers.

    Thank you for posting. Some of your discourse was great. However, please show how the timing works: when to start and stop is crucial, critical and confusing for a beginner. Please go over that part VERY slowly and 5 or 7 times. Many repetitions will help! Thanks.

    Nice intro. On my RC-30, the playback volume is ridiculously high compared to the thru signal, so that I must keep my volume sliders at about the second hash-mark; if I move them even slightly from their ideal position, the playback volume becomes radically high or radically low. In your video here you are not trying to play over recorded tracks, so the problem is not evident, but if you were to try to play live over a recorded track I suspect your sliders would be very near the bottom in order to have the thru volume match the playback volume. Do you know of a solution to this problem? I looked thru the manual to see if maybe there was a master-volume knob somewhere, but cannot find any such thing. What I want to do is dramatically reduce the playback volume, so the I can have more dynamic range in my sliders. Thanks!!

    Very helpful, thanks! I just couldn’t understand what you did at 3:15 ... I mean, you have just finished recording in the channel 2. So, you’ve just stopped the loop playing on channel 2, by clicking the RIGHT button. Well, then... You make it playing again, by clicking the LEFT button!? (3:15) ... Isn’t that button committed to start and stop recording? What if... after have recorded my loop on the second channel and stopped it, I would like to record again on the first channel? 😵🤯🤯🤯 thank you 🙏🏼

    • @BrennaLynn
      @BrennaLynn  6 років тому

      Matt Rivers hi Matt! It might be the amp that you are using actually. My mic quality (Shure SM 58) sounds great through my pedal. I notice no compression, but I'm also using a mic meant for performance. I'd suggest considering the mic you are using and the amp you are using, because I don't think the pedal effects sound quality much.

    Brenna! There is a solution so you don't have to tap twice to avoid overdubbing. Just hold tap tempo down while pluging the rc30 on and with the arrows go up once. Click tap tempo again. Now when you do your first loop and click the pedal it will just play ;)

    Just got an rc-30 3 months ago.
    Can you record a backing track on track A, main chorus. Then a bridge on track B. And not hear track A. Then, switch back to track A, and not hear track B.
    Hope that makes since.

    how do you change from one channel to the other in a way that what is being played in the first chanel stops and what is recorded in the second channel starts simultaneously?
    Normally you would stop the first channel, switch to the second channel by pressing the right pedal for two seconds and then press the left pedal to let play whats recorded in the second channel. I would like to do that all by just one command :)
    Is this possible?

    Definitely appreciated... I'm one of those guys that think every little gadget like this should come with a "instant gratification" button lol so thanx for getting right to the point and letting me know exactly what I need to do to just take off and get results and answers to questions I'd have to work this thing... plus, I'm a Bassist and really don't have the experience of using pedals as guitarists do, and if I did ever use something in a live environment, my tech would handle it so I'm using this at home and appreciate your help.
    P.S.--Just out of curiosity but did y'all's come with the A/C adapter as mine didn't, which I found odd but can anyone guide me where to get the correct one for this particular pedal? Thanx for your time. 🤘

      I don't think the rc 30 comes with the power supply. You have to purchase that separately, but it's pretty cheap (20 ish dollars?)! I'm sure some come brand new with the power adapter, but I got mine used on ebay actually, so I don't know for sure!

Also, oddly enough, I have been to several cities several times throughout Ohio, in Nashville probably more than I can count, and I'm originally from the DC area & in fact my Father R.I.P. was a DC policeman (one of the last "real" policemen in the U.S.) but I've been based out of Central Florida for the past 30yrs, have written, co-written, toured & recorded with a few national/international artists as well as bands and spent many many years as touring and recording bassist with a legendary Southern Rock band out of Jacksonville and have kinda kicked back a bit, got sober lol, and still write and record my own original songs based on my experience, strength, and hope as well as the good, bad, and ugly that came along with the lifestyle I chose and I think it would be cool to maybe collaborate sometime in the future and is what I believe I was put on Earth to do! Alright, enough about me... sorry! Jeeeeeeeeesh lol again I thank you very much for your time and consideration and helping me. I do my recordings myself in a humble bedroom studio lol, but if you ever wanted, I could send you a track and you can send me a bass track to go with it if you record at home too! @@BrennaLynn very cool and thank you. Yeah, see I'm soooooooo behind on the newest and latest stuff and someone set up a UA-cam channel or whatever with a couple of songs I had written, one for my daughter, one for my mother and her passing away too early in my opinion, and I did my version of a Christmas, my favorite Christmas time song and I believe one more. I played all instruments, sang all vocals, and did it on Cubase that I somehow taught myself to do but can't seem to remember (obviously during a bit of the "non" sober times lol) and I look different even more since the videos someone made for me with older photos of myself, my daughter who's now 22, a person I was evidently dating at the time lol, omg embarrassing but yeah lol... I did get into the studio with some great players, everything was moving along very well, was already doing interviews with magazines and media then out of the blue, the label passes due to a massive heart attack, his family took over the label and decided to completely shut it down, and God only knows where those mixes are and still protected thankfully thru copywrites but wow... just been crazy and so wisely, I've kept my focus on recovery and that definitely doesn't stop the songwriting...in fact, the opposite. Lemme see if I can do the same you did for me there and thanx again by the way but I'll give it a shot but may have to wait until I get back to the laptop. Bear with me

    • @BrennaLynn
      @BrennaLynn  5 років тому +1

      the first loop on track 2 cannot be deleted. I'm not sure why they made it that way. Here's what you can do to get around it: before recording your first loop on track 2, record a "blank." tap the pedal to record, wait a second, then tap it again. now the first track is blank, and it's ok that you can't delete it. Then start your actual first loop on track 2

      I like the cut of your jib Simpson. appreciate your fast response. many thanks! will try this. so record basic beat on track one... switch to track 2, press record, but just allow a second to engage but don't actually record anything.. THEN record an actual performance on track 2? just verifying i got you.

    • @BrennaLynn
      @BrennaLynn  6 років тому

      You can record both at the same time! press the left pedal to begin recording, and play your guitar (make sure it's plugged into the pedal) and sing (make sure you have a microphone plugged into the pedal) and the loop pedal will record both. Press the left pedal again to stop recording as I do in the video. You can create UA-cam videos, but they're quality will be limited by what kind of microphone, speakers, or software you use.

      no, you need to stop the sound first. then you can clear it. HOWEVER, you can "undo" a track you just recorded while the sound is playing. do this by holding down the left pedal immediately after recording a track.
