twitter.com/elliot_coll - tell me what you think of this handheld on my most recent post!
I got in on the first round of preorders and I can hardly wait for this to arrive. It should be shipping on the 20th.
Can you pronounce xiaomi properly?
@@jw24119 chill bro...I like his accent
Bro. Love the content and the increased frequency of your uploads. It's really starting to bug me that you don't zoom in (either in post production in your editing software or by manually jump cutting) when you're showing your game footage. The first part of the vid when you're showing GBC games, you not only have the postage stamp sized screen thanks to the border, holding the console at a 45 degree angle to the camera and you're zoomed way too far back. No one cares about your hands or the 50% of the screen that is wasted to the outside of the game screen. Just come in nice and tight or do a direct game capture through the AV out.
Just some constructive criticism... Thanks mate. Otherwise you're doing a top job!
I tried to order this on Aliexpress but for some reason it would not let me complete the order (had the original name MIYOO MAX). So I ordered it today on the retromimi site along with the carrying case, it was actually cheaper and with free shipping.
But at least they’re listening to people who bought their product
Peep Squeek I know right!
Yep this guys are awesome can't wait to buy the second version
Mine just arrived, obviously they have been improving it because ps1 is running flawlessly so far no frame skip! Tried Megaman legends, spider-man 2 and tomb raider with no issue.
I discovered your channel last week and I must say stellar content! The gameboy sp was my first console and with all this flashy pc gaming and AAA third party games nowadays, I have went back to my roots and I am beginning to embrace retro gaming again. So it's great to find channels like yours that embrace the love behind Nintendo and classic retro systems.
Best Regards from Colorado ✌🏻
Thank you very much.

It all looks fine to me 🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔

Hi childish, im Prinsipe
I've been waiting for you to review this before I considered buying it. Thank you.
Thank you. Almost bought version 1 of the Pocket Go, but already have a gPI, so decided to pass on it. May jump on this console now. Appreciate the quick review.
Hi mate, I'm glad about they reading/listening customers. Very good stuff I have already ordered.
love the handheld reviews, thank you for your review and keep it up!
I like more the simple design of the first one, hope they hire a graphic designer to make the icons, background and all the navigation in general. But I like the features.
GB gameboy colour and that 700+ game cartridge was an excellent recommendation . Just ordered this too. Great content.
Pretty cool little device! Wouldn't ever replace my GBC though.
Waiting for the flip version that can emulate DS!
Ive never bought any retro device but this..it a freaking dream machine. Especially the usb c
I just received mine in the post. They now include a rubber cap for the analog stick. Nice!
I ordered mine a while back, mostly to replace my LDK, so I'm still waiting on it. Looks great, I'll have to see about the GBA settings since I think I'll be playing that mostly. Although I might play PS1 as well, which frame skip doesn't seem like too much of an issue really.
Ali Express has an N64 cart that claim to have 300 games. I wish you would review that for us. It would be like having an Everdrive64 at a fraction of the cost. Great vid.
so its basically just a bunch of roms loaded onto it?
A lot of these multi-carts are Chinese knock off Ever drives with SD cards hidden behind a label.
@@matthewnations501 Not used one myself but I'm not saying there's anything wrong with them. Seen some reviews that say they have slower loading times but they are a lot cheaper.
they often have awfal rom hacks and homebrew game on it as well as a bunch of unlicensed games on them. they're all the same
yesterday i found this console on amazon and wasn't sure if i should buy it. today i found your video by coincidence and now i'm 100% sure that i will buy this console. thank you for this :D
I love your reviews as they generally so acerbic. Bloody brilliant. I've Pocket Go v2 and I do quite like it but as with all these devices including my RG350, I temper my expectations.
I picked up a bit boy and an odroid go after seeing it on your channel which of course then led me to the pocket go. As of right now my pocket go is what i take with me most every day. I slip it into one of the cloth bags that my oakley sunglasses used to come in so the screen doesnt get scratched and i must say i really enjoy the original pocket go. This new one doesnt look like it brings much more to the table. The fact that it plays ps1 games so smooth is really wonderful but as of now I'm thinking about just sticking with my psp go for ps1 games on the go. If they came out with a revision to this one that played n64 games, Mario 64 in particular I'd get it in a heart beat. I really like this new form factor with the joystick and added shoulder buttons but i think i am going to hold off on purchasing this one in hopes that they will improve the hardware just a bit more. I really enjoy your channel and all of your reviews, as stated earlier it has really helped me in my quest for the perfect handheld.I am really looking forward to seeing more from you in the future keep up the great work man.
Why do I find him so wholesome?
I don't know what that intro was but I feel you
Just got mine and love it, took it apart to put in the rainbow buttons and completely screwed up haha took about an hour to get it back together, the buttons on the top bar are so fiddly and after getting it back together the power button wasn't seated properly, but now it's all done with the rainbow buttons it looks Amazing! Will put some new ROMs on it tomorrow.
I would love something like that.
Entertaining as always!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Yesterday from Aliexpress arrived the £8 400 NES games "gameboy" in quite fetching yellow with a matching player 2 controller and for that £8 I am quite astonished. 3" full tft screen, good controls and games are surprisingly good for what it is, its for my granddaughter and I reckon she is gonna be pleased as punch for it :)
Bought it too, quite happy just to play Contra on it for the price!
I'm really looking forward to the Analogue Pocket
Let's just hope that they actually end up making more units than just the few ones that they are going to produce
@@RockMcLuckle better be fast I would say, but yea you are right.
Do one on the Rg350!
All these good emulating consoles coming out these days and I'm just getting into collecting original GBA.
At least your collecting something original
this is reassuring! i ordered this as soon as i saw it was available for pre-order. at the price, i just had to chance it.
How do you like it? I'm quite enjoying the unit now that I upgraded the firmware to Rogue.
Hunter Bungay there’s new firmware?

@@tommyg957 Do a backup of your apps first though!!!
How long did it take to receive your pocket go 2? I'm on day 5 and I havent received an shipping email from retro mini.
Looks awesome!
Can't wait to get mine I bet it won't arrive in UK until middle of Jan what do you reckon
I have the original and love it
10:19 is the Thumbnail for anyone who came for that
could you try me on the mega drive emulator? I would like to know if it is possible to configure the gamepad with each game having an individual configuration or the configuration is global?
Even though I was born in the age of 3D games I still really love retro games better for some reason maybe because I feel good when I play games that were old I love old stuff.
Good man
nice little system and great that it uses usb C, i just wish the SD card slots were kept under the battery instead of somewhere they can accidentally be ejected (and lost)
I wasn't aware these devices were this much cheaper years ago lol.
you mentioned seeing other reviews. i wish you would have chose different games to test. I get they're the hardest to emulate but i keep hoping to see others.
What's your opinion on the Pandora arcade boxes and their new handheld device? Also which site is safest to order from, I see them on Wish, Gearbest, Amazon, Ebay, Ali express etc
i wonder what would happen if when you ordered this you put your logo upside down would it be right side up
Same
Billy g yes it would be.
i'll put a symmetrical logo..
Honestly can't wait to receive mine, still at least 2 weeks before they even start shipping.
Did you get one?
I preordered this back when they first started doing preorders for it on the retromimi site, like nearly two months ago I think, and I still haven't received mine. Do you know if these have started shipping yet?
I think you got it now because its been 8 months but they told me its because of covid 19 for me
@@chefboythirdy3998 Yeah I did eventually get it.
I only paid $60 for my gpi case. They were around for $100 though when they first came out cuz of limited stock.
Interesting. The thing about these things is that I always have a devil of a time getting ROMs loaded up correctly. It seems to be well-powered, though, which is nice.
How's that? You put your ROMs in the correct folder in your SD card and you're good to go! Some emus may require the BIOS but that's no biggie either.
@@manicminer1976 :) I am speaking mostly about my time with Clockwork Pi, I suppose.
@@randynovick7972 Don't worry then, with these systems it's easy peasy.
I can't wait to buy one of these just for the sole purpose of playing Parodius Da!, Pokemon Stadium, and all Pokemon GB/C/A games.
I'll wait for the Analogue Pocket. I know it's more expensive, but being able to use legit carts matters to me.
Very true!
What's a cart
@@t8torx654 game cartridge
Not to mention the analogue pocket looks amazing!
@@eskimojoe6564 it does!
My dream console. Easy to mod and you can add games.
does retromimi ship to UK? and does this come with the colourful buttons?
Why does this remind me of the classic gameboy with extra buttons, squeezed vertically at 50%, horizontal stretch at 30% and updated screen.
thats basically a gameboy advance?
It looks cool I love to play sonic game with a button instead of touch screen
I always use emulator on android to play some games and its very great that was made
This game is looking as well as the normal console well as well
I remember the JZ4770 from 2012 and 2013 devices. It was in the GCW Zero. I know most reviewers of this Pocket Go 2 are probably getting their info on the CPU from the manufacturer, but I have always been under the impression that the JZ4770 is a single-core CPU. All the data on the chip I have checked indicated a single CPU core. I wonder if the manufacturer is counting the GPU as a second core. The chip is quite capable for lower-end emulation a device like this is meant for and I'm not sure a second CPU core would help much as I always hear most emulation relies on single-threaded performance. Anyway, just trying to clear things up.
How are these compared to the RS-xxx retrogame series that I always see on Retrocore's channel?
So, this has 60Hz display ? Few days before I found out about pocketgo, was thinking it`s too small and bam! They release bigger model )
I straight up just bought one
This does look good Elliot 👍 not bad at all
For the price this thing is actually pretty cool. No joystick for Mario 64 is a deal breaker for me though. I'll wait until a software revision before picking one up.
If you wouldve watched the video you would know, that it is barely capeable to handle n64 games at all. so the joystick isnt the dealbreaker, performance is.
I need you to record for to view massive games what it have. Because I wanted to know which games I wanted. If it have then i would to buy it
What GBA games come available from purchase in terms of Mario, Zelda and Pokemon. Those are the three main franchises I'd play most and would consider buying one of these for.
IMO in this price range an used 2DS with simulators installed might be a viable option
Can you make a video about the GPD consoles ? I love your video and your work !
Is this worth shelling out the extra money if I don't intend to use it for more than SNES/NES/GB/GBC/GBA?
This is the second review mentioning Cave Story. What version is that? Did someone port it to what I assume is ARM?
@the retro future.
Disregarding price. Which is better?
This or the gkd350h
i see this product is still available on some sites. still worth getting, or should i get the rg350
Hey Elliot! I have the RG350 and was wondering, is purchasing this even worth it in my case? Or should I only buy it if I want it added to my collection of handhelds?
Also, how would this compare to the RG350? I assume relatively similar yeah?
I don’t have an RG-350. Can’t imagine it’s much different though.
Exact same innards as fhe RG350. Performance is identical. Only reason to get this would be if you like joystick/button layout better.
Aguardando o meu chegar!! Super like!!
i'm waiting for this on amazon, i got v1 from there, also SORR stopped working on my pocket go v1 and i don't know how to fix it
@Blue Phoenix Productions had the pocket go v1, and it was really really good for the money. But I wanted a device that played ps1 games well, plus a bigger screen. So I ordered the updated version pocketgo v2 off retromimi for $65.99 (£53.87). The updated version has a better thumbstick, an added reset button, better d-pad and some other issues fixed. Ordered it last Friday and it's just got into the UK today, so the delivery time isn't that bad at all
@Blue Phoenix Productions also the updated version has snes buttons and it can run rg350 firmware which is sick
@Blue Phoenix Productions ah right, oh well. It still runs the games exactly the same, just doesn't have the improvements I listed above. Lol I should've commented sooner. But enjoy it anyway mate, can't wait for mine to come
Dam, I wanted it for N64 games
One thing that none of the reviews of it mention: does the V2 have a 60Hz screen?
9:17 +
It can do up to 60 fps, hence I'd assume it has a 60 Hz display.
Yes it is
would have preferred a stretched mode option for the games to make full use of the screen rather than just have games be shrunk to only original size. Also not a fan of that analog stick. Can already tell I will hate that about it. The button layout is fantastic, the overall size is perfect, good price, and aside from my complaints I really like it.
Does it comes with games? If so how many?
Have you ever replaced a Nintendo switch digitizer Just wanted to know awesome video as always BTW
Have they fixed the screen tearing from the original pocket go?
Does it have a vibration function like the first Pocket Go does?
is this pocket go v2 better then the gk350H? only looking to purchase one or the other and not interesting in experimenting to see which is best at this moment
Does it come with games in it or do I have to buy games ?
I think you had a typo in the description you put purchase as purchace
I tried to buy one from your link. No matter if I use Apple Pay or credit on site - keeps failing. Says “try again in a few minutes” 😕
Eliot I need big help for you! I wanna know if this system emulate Famicom Disk System
Which should I buy this one or the Play Go or a second hand PSP?
its advertised with colourful buttons on retromimi, but does it come with them? as every review I see they have the black and purple ones
It comes inside the box, you can change them if you want.
I hope they make a v2 of the original. I prefer it's look and form factor.
Size too
I agree, I prefer the cleaner design on the original
Does it still make the annoying static sounds or did they fix that?
Does anyone know a discount code for the pocket go 2 on the retromini site?
When you tell us the price in pounds, could you convert that to kilograms?
I have the RG300 and trying to play The Simpson's M.A.M.E game lags so much, not sure what settings to adjust, does the Pocketgo V2 play these better?
Waiting for new new pocket go Xl
Got mine, it's good, great screen etc. I'm having trouble adding roms though, it game with some but i want to add more. My Win 10 pc cant see the micro sd card contents and the device wont show the contents of my 2nd micro sd
Any ideas?
Have you plugged the SD directly into the pc? I'm running a rasberry pi4 with lakka and send roms over wifi from my win10 pc. Maybe You can look into doing wifi transfer for your roms.
for anyone who has this issue and reads this comment, the micro sd card that comes with it in the first slot *is not* for adding roms, it comes with roms but that sd card is primarily for firmware, use a micro sd card in the 2nd slot for roms
Does the remote controller adapter work on that as well?
Where can I buy it? Can’t find anywhere the v2
Hows the NEO GEO emulator? Does it have a NGPC emulator? Can you control them with the joystick or dpad only?
Would love to see other emulator s tested as is now. Like the PSP and if there were any hombrew or old PC ports if possible, Staples like the gba and Genesis are cool but what about other non standard things.
its upright for Australian users
Strange thing I’ve noticed with a lot of these Chinese handhelds is that gba games seem to hold saves on their own. Any idea why that is?
Just got mine very happy with it but can't get mame to work when I press a on a mame game it says not expected directory loving the neo Geo games though
1 day there will be a handheld that can play Perfect Dark.
linx i think would i used to play farcry2 on it
