Holy hell its finally out! I've been waiting since the first remake you made! This is amazing! I love the realistically gloomy atmosphere inside the sheriffs building, considering the fact we barely see any actual light sources or windows in this episode. Also you went out of your way to animate Tricky's hair?? Crazyyyy MADNESS INTERACTIVE IS EVEN ON AN ARCADE MACHINE!!!
Good job man. Loved how you gave Hank 2 semi-automatic shotguns to use instead of the pump-actions like in the original. Also liked the reference to the old Madness Interactive game close to the end. Oh, and I was happy to finally see him shoot that G36 he never used in the original.
The animation is so fluid! The perfect amount of squash and stretch makes this feel cartoony yet action-packed! 10/10 Work! + Bonus points for the improved room design (it feels like a real place now) and some more for using the full HD version of the violin music! You even made it muffled when Hank was in the elevator! Perfection!
This is literally one o' one, best and almost, *almost* accurate homage to the original one. The only thing that is different is the gun, that's literally it. Marvelous. Its beautiful. And never thought that song has more to it, i thought it honestly just 15 sec long.
I really like how you kept the feel of the original while still making it fun to watch The way the fights play out is like a 1 to 1 to how Krinkles was animating way back in the day
What an absolute joy this was to watch! Easily the best fan-recreation of a classic cartoon that's come out in recent years. I hope to see more Madness stuff from you in the future!
This is awesome, the backgrounds look amazing. Characters feel like they take up space more believably than in the original, like that wall of zombies at 2:06. Sick. The smear frames when characters move fast also look great, keeps the spirit of the og animation. Looking forward to seeing more 3D madness stuff, it definitely improves the action imo.
I love all the little touches to add a personal flair to the whole ordeal. Like having the music explicitly piped in from the different speakers in the building, the Madness Interactive arcade cabinet. There's also some slight but appreciable tweaks to keep the fight scenes a bit more logically consistent like Hank hiding behind the bar counter instead of going through the vents faster than the goons could blink, or him dual wielding mag-fed auto-shotties rather than pump actions.
This is so cool, I especially liked that the music is playing from the players, and not from nowhere. And it's also cool how the room in front of the Sheriff's office was redone, making a bar out of it was a damn good decision.
This is amazing. I wonder how many times you’ve watched part 2 as every single detail from the original is in this video. Looking forward to see new content!!
speechless, absolutely phenomenal. i love the texture that you used for the grunts & environments too! it gives this fanTASTIC claymation feel too it that's seldom seen in fan tributes, and this; just excels that, incredible work man, i love the detailed kills too! following exactly how Madness Combat 2 went from start to finish, amazing
The new age details and 3D animation still captures the nostalgic and chaotic feeling of the original. Masterfully done, cant want to see your future projects.
What a great remake. It adds more details to the environment that weren't in the original and the lighting was pretty good, and it does a good job at translating the fights into 3d
Love how the general idea of the scenes are very faithful, but that there are also some details that enhance the original, such as camera angles, positioning, etc.. Really well done!
Absolutely amazing work ! Love this style you got , the lighting and background design is very clean and looking fantastic. Very nice new additions to these empty rooms we know and love , the Sheriff finally got some furniture ! Your improvement is clearly seen throughout the movie !
This is really good! The improvement from the MC1 remake is very apparent. One thing I would like to note, however, is that their feet don't seem to rotate when stepping/walking, so they look kind of stiff/like they're gliding. Also, at 2:49, no bullets/particles can be seen entering the elevator, so it just looks like there's a shootout happening in the next room. I really like how you added some extra overall movement to the characters, though, like Tricky turning away from the camera when Hank corners him.
I've always been waiting to see Redeemer in 3d! Thanks for finally making it😄 This is the coolest animation ever😄 I hope you do more Madness combat in 3d since 2023. I want to see more of the series in 3d!
while it has its underwhelming downs like about 90% of the action being a straight up mimic from the original cartoon i apereciate (aside from the effort of course) all the original stuff added in like some niche lighting effects a window or a chair here n there to give the place more life. not bad, not bad at all! i really liked it
As much as I can say to praise this video, I can't wait to see more of your original work. I know this has taken a lot of your time and do hope you can settle and rest now that it's over.
Aaaahhhhh.. nostalgia watching this back when i was what 12? Brooo this video and the online game on newgrounds were the first things that made me follow krinkels up to this day...still a huge fan.
This is really good - the main note I have is the pacing in some high-action scenes is slightly delayed: if you pay attention to some individual enemies at certain points, sometimes the delay between when they appear on screen; and either perform an attack, begin to wind up an attack, or aim a weapon gives the impression they are 'waiting their turn' to attack the character ... who I think ends up becoming Hank...? The protagonist of the episode. Or they appear on screen with a neutral stance and look like they had no idea there was a fight going on in a room full of gunshots and dead bodies - although that problem sometimes exists periodically through the original madness combat series too. But my main point here being that the madness cartoon series doesn't really give neither the characters nor the viewer time to reset their brain between attacks and breathe to process what is happening or pauses. The attacks almost trample over each other and that gives the animation the impression that the main character is barely in control of the situation and since WE can barely parse the speed of the action, it gives the impression the character is a skilled combatant. IE: 1:14 the billyclub attacking Hank from behind approaches with the club lowered and the other idly stands there until it is his turn to fight 1:20 dude casually walks up to get his head grabbed 1:30 dude stops after even Hank realizes he is out of ammo to give him time to throw the pistol 1:44 pretty much this entire scene has every beat happen 'one after the other'. As in the action for the next fight doesn't quite flow from BEFORE the end of the last fight INTO the next fight - which is something the cartoon series does EXTREMELY well. 3:43 assault rifle dude would have EASILY killed him if the main character didn't have plot armor. I don't remember how it looks in the original but you can always have him smack the weapon out of the way or something to help improve the scene - or have Hank already have momentum and moving out of the way. Which ultimately isn't a massive gripe - but I thought you should know if you are trying to improve your choreography. You nailed it at the scene starting at 3:00. Every move has started before the last one ended. In my opinion, the original Madness Combat creator has a masterclass eye for visual flow, choreography, and body language - but you're getting there yourself. Also too I'm sure it's a limitation you tried to get around yourself - but if you can, adding impacts or tracers or holes as a texture on the elevator walls at 2:49 would help that scene go a long way to be better than the original. Or even blood getting kicked up from the bodies. Don't be afraid to turn up the intensity and viscerality of the action compared to the original. Add in your own flares because you aren't the same animator - nobody is going to notice and say it's negative if you change something because it makes YOUR scene better for YOUR style.
Didn't expect getting such substantial feedback over a year after release! Big thanks! One thing to note is that the VFX side was very rushed, so i couldn't implement as much effects as i wanted such as the more intense blood, which ended up being just flash sprites on top of the models, and i happened glossed over many things that would have made the animation that much more punchy. There were a few people complaining that the overall animation/choreography felt a bit slow and/or floaty, and i didn't exactly understand what they meant by that other than the punches, but you've described it in an excellent way i wasn't expecting to get, especially at this point. Will keep in mind for any future projects!
@@zayJax No problem! I forgot all about madness combat for a while until I was reminded it existed recently. I love action choreography and good combat animation. I love how even Hank being a ruthless madman killer, he still just doesn't double tap or shoot surrendering or knocked out individuals. if they aren't capable of fighting he won't waste his energy to kill them.
i don't know if it's for the sake of efficiency, which just goes to show how cold he is, or there might be another side of him, a different side. it can go either way really. I honestly prefer the latter.
Hank kills tons of surrenderers, in Madness 3, 4 and 9.52 I believe. Though you can just watch the whole series and look out for it. There really is no mercy in this man's actions. Edit: Okay, not tons. But there's clearly points where Hank has the option to spare someone, and he makes the concious choice of "Blood is fun"
