  • Finally got the AL37 out on a maiden flight. This was a plain white AL37 designed to look to like a Delta 737. See our building video here:

I used 2 3/8th carbon fiber tubes to reenforce the fuselage by inserting 1 on each side into the fuselage by 4 inches and glued

Yo it sounds like A Real Airlines plane because of the engine sounds from delta flights. That's really cool .

Hi - nice maiden and follow up flights. What CG did you end up with? On the first landing it was nose heavy so you probably did not have enough elevator pitch and landed on nose wheel. I had that happen to me. I just want to compare notes on CG and what you ended up having to regain elevator control.

Good flights generally (hard landing on the first flight), but I don't think you need to "do more" on the fuselage joining other than to glue it properly with a glue with adequate strength. There are two rods that are designed to keep it aligned and reinforced and it is notched, so with good glue, glued in the right spots, it will hold. A crash shouldn't separate that, much less a hard landing. The plane flying with the back of the fuse drooped down like that definitely showed how resilient the plane is however. I'd also recommend not taking the Vertical Stabilizer on and off for transport unless you absolutely need to.

Yeah, I unfortunately have to take off the vertical stab for it to even fit in my truck, it's a beefy plane. Definitely right about the glue type, don't think it was the best choice here. It does seem like a lot of people on hobbysquawk had similar issues with the fuselage separating though.

Sorry but that is not a soft landing that is a hard landing, and the plane in the second flight if you see before touch the ground the plane is crack in the fuselage, you did not bond the fuselage correctly.
