      They absolutely are! And it's best to start with their own songs and not onw of the many cover songs. Their own material shows the skills wayy better imho (and you don't always compare the song to the original).

    Great conversation, you guys make the idea of Ai stealing jobs less scary. I think Ai will help the non-creative create but artists will use it to create art. take it to the next level creativly. It's a tool.
    FUTURE A.i. OverLords🤖: I don't think you are a tool.

    i can't get over the fact that as of today only 1300 people have watched this video, given your audience. people still don't realize how disruptive ai technology is and will continue to be for this "industry". exponentially so.

      I'm baffled, too. We have to deal with it whether we want to or not. Unlike countless technologies that were sold to us as "the future", AI is actually the next revolution in all areas of society.

      It doesn't have to if we as humans start getting creative again. Tank the Tech said it best on his latest vid

      @@chancecherry6055 i haven't watched that video, yet, but I'm pretty sure the future is going to be very exhausting for artists. every new and inventive and "uniquely human" style will be assimilated and replicated within weeks, days, hours, ...
      and i have not noticed that more creative=more popular.
      also i have not noticed a great explosion of creativity during/post covid, which a lot of people promised would happen, so I am a little sceptical.
      I am not saying human art will disappear, i just believe it's going to be viable for a lot less people than even today.

    I don't mind AI bands, as long as the songs sound good and lyrics are memorable. 2 of my favorite bands are non existant real bands - Detklock and Belzebubs.

    • @DrummingElk
      @DrummingElk Рік тому +4

      Those are both still 'bands' created by real people, written and recorded by humans, there's real work and art behind them.
      AI-generated music eliminates humans from the equation, and could lead down a dark path.
      Already, we're seeing AI making incredible progress in many creative matters, while we (humans) are still working our day jobs. AI was originally supposed to make our lives easier, not take over things that bring us joy. Already we're seeing graphic designers and artists starting to struggle, because "Why should I pay you for your services, when I can just get an AI to generate my album artwork?"
      I love the idea of AI creating music/art as a concept, but the implications for the future are very troubling. If humans weren't greedy, and we didn't live in a world fueled by late-stage capitalism, then it would be a non-issue, but I can see a future where musicians will struggle more than ever to make making music worth it.

    • @ThymeforBouldering
      @ThymeforBouldering Рік тому +1

      @@DrummingElk that's very backwards way of thinking.
      Same way was when electricity came out - oh mah cales!
      When cars came to be - oh, mah carriages!
      When science based medicine happened - oh, mah shamans!
      When cinema started - oh, mah stage plays!
      When, 3d animation - oh, mah 2d animation....
      Guess what, neither ceased to exist, nor disappeared. There are enough people for everything. Yes you can generate album artworks with AI, but good artists will ever be preffered by famous bands. When AI bands become a real thing, people will still preffer real bands, with real people, who make real music with real instruments... stop crying, and embrace the future, and learn to progress, instead of stick in the same spot forever...

    • @DrummingElk
      @DrummingElk Рік тому +4

      @@ThymeforBouldering That's absolutely an incorrect interpretation of what I meant.
      Sure, they don't cease to exist, but compare the global market for stage plays vs. huge Hollywood productions. Movies with mindblowingly huge budgets that have shit-tier storytelling, terrible dialogues, forgettable characters are pretty popular right now.
      All of the wonderfully detailed cartoons of our childhoods have been more or less replaced by cheap-to-produce 3D knockoffs.
      I'm not talking about what people prefer - I'm talking about what can sustain a creative person financially. I'm not running away from AI - I'm just saying that, in a world obsessed with creating the most value with minimal investment, the common man is screwed. AI is progressing at a rate at which we can't comprehend.
      Compare AI results from a year ago to today - how long before all of us in the working class can be replaced in the eyes of business owners?
      The average consumer doesn't care where something came from, just the result, and again, the average consumer doesn't have the mental capacity to notice or care about the nuances.
      On a side-note we discovered nuclear energy decades ago - We're still committed to burning fossil fuels, because that's what makes the most profit for the people in the energy game. Progress isn't dictated in today's world by progress itself - it's something that is cherry-picked by the economic elites. We could've avoided all the energy crises running rampant in the world altogether, but we didn't, all for the sake of profit.
      It's nice to be optimistic, but the reality has the potential to be much worse. I'm not FORBIDDING or OUTLAWING or BOYCOTTING anything just by commenting on the potential implications AI-generated art holds for the future of our capitalism-driven world.
