Dany. I loved the musical Hamilton I saw it on Disney in 2020 and I laughed and cried. I love the actor who played Lafayette and Jefferson and I love Anthony Ramos the actor who played both John Laurens and Philip Hamilton. Now I can’t ever think of Philip without thinking of Anthony Ramos.

Give us a few more good ones and we will happily celebrate. We are just never ever ever educated about anything but the french revolution and 1939-1945 where they don't even mention the resistance, Vichy France, De Gaulle (sp?), or again anything good. Right now, Americans are silently jealous of French balls and their ability to actually protest effectively with a coherent message - and that the french protest against policy, and not just our innate human nature that policy will not change (BLM since u are french). Keep up the protesting! It might help our people rediscover our power and our rights. This video also focuses on his early life - which is incredibly boring.

Lafayette in my home town. A most excellent and enlightening biography of an important man. I only ever knew the basics of Lafayette’s aid to the Americans in the revolution. Several miles from me in the city of Annapolis is a historical marker on the spot where Lafayette encamped with 1,200 troops on their way to the pivotal battle of Yorktown. The next time I stroll by the place Lafayette once commanded troops, I will have a better understanding and greater reverence for the man.

He may have been somewhat naive but I don't think he was obsessed with revolution but rather obsessed with fighting for the people and their rights, which is wholly admirable! It seems that he often thought people were more rational and reasonable than they actually were!

Fascinating story i would say, by all means, in terms of ability, he is rather average in my observation, but in terms of characteristics and the sheer magintude the man exuded due to his strong personality, he achieved some impressive accomplishments in his time, hell I'd consider the man one of the few idealists that knew to reign how to reign himself back in from going too over board

Lafayette could most certainly be accused of naïveté, just as so very many others throughout history who pursued a dream. His well-meaning intentions & vision were ahead of their time, and, to his immense credit, he refused to betray his principles. While both the French royalists & the common people disliked him for their own partisan reasons, Lafayette did, indeed, dedicate himself to work for the betterment of his country & his people, for which he deserves only admiration & respect. MANY countries of the world today need citizens such as Lafayette.

I have a book recentlyish written about him. I cant get past the first 100 pages because a few paragraphs on how he grew to disdain the ornate and oppulant french court would have been better than taking me an hour to confirm the french were freaky and dicks - as continues to be the case.
