- This is my first time reaction to Dimash singing SOS. His voice range is unmatched and it is phenomenal! I hope you guys enjoy it and as always don't forget to hit that like button and subscribe to the channel!!!

BTW if you ever have the courage and curiosity to actually check out actual Opera (I would call Dimash performance art), and you really owe it to yourself to try, look into Diana Damrau's rendition of the Queen of the Night aria from the Magic Flute by Mozart. Spectacular and truly not to be missed. She can really SANG!

The sound didn't stop. He is a technical master. Just listen again and you'll probably figure it out. He is classically trained but this is a pop song from a musical. He just incorporates classical technique here and there to produce the sound he wants or needs. Singing high doesn't mean it's opera.

Huge pop music fan here, one who has spent most of his life in the retail music industry and was a fan of the artists whose posters you have hanging behind you, among thousands of others. That being said, I discovered Dimash six years ago and have never looked back. I say this with more certainly than I have ever said anything else in my life: All the most important music of my life has become far less important to me now that I have Dimash to watch and listen to. What you have just experienced is barely the tip of a gigantic iceberg. There is no other musical performer on earth like him, nor as talented and creative.

This genre is actually called rock-opera.
So it really is considered opera? That would explain a lot. I had no idea that was a genre to be honest.
@@michaelmayo8117 first time I saw it was in 1978 with SOS, fast became a favorite song of mine(in French); but when I heard Dimash do it the first time I was not ready and my mouth hung open farther than yours when I heard this young man do my song.
I would call it rock-popera. Because of the belting-voice.
The funny thing is he does play drums and guitar and piano and a few more instruments, Does Opera, Classical, Rock, Pop and Raps, you can't put him into any category. If you ask a Dimash fan what type of music does Dimash, the answer will be yes.

He doesn't have 7 different voices, just 7 octaves in one voice and yes, he plays about 7 different instruments although we've seen him get a tune out of every instrument he's handed. He also composes incredible music and is a dammed good actor too.
Dimash definitely has many voices. Complete tonal shift.

I got so excited when I saw your thumbnail that you were doing a first react to Dimash. We say you’ve been Dimashified. About 3 years ago I had a series of 5 surgeries over a 6 month period, at times carrying around a bag at my side and then a plastic box and having to sleep with that stuff on. I was mostly home at that time in bed. I came across Dimash during that period during Covid. What you reacted to was one song sos, from a digital concert by Dimash. I mean by Dimash. He hired 440 people and put on this show. Years ago Barbara Streisand did a live show and charged $2,000 a seat. I was home, sick and poor. Dimash could have riches galore from his many downloads and talents used in his concerts. He is only a millionaire choosing to put his money into his shows. I wasn’t in good shape. He charged us “Dears”, his fans $10 and TIXR charged $2 to see that over 2 hr show. Dimash is not only the best voice in the world but in a century and all the vocal coaches teachers and their students know it. I be,ieve his range is 7,7. There are only 8 octaves on a piano. Thanx for your reaction. Yes there was opera in it. This is a newer genre called “popopera”. He does it all as he can. He’s in his doctorate. Last we he was seen in California with Davis foster producer to Mariah, Michael, Whitney, Michael bubble, Peter cetara, of Chicago. Dimash is independent and has been treated poorly by Americans. The thing about America is we need him, he doesn’t need us. With all our genres of music being auto tuned to death and with every country song comparing the love of a woman to alcohol and the over use of the word “neon” meaning a dive bar and with few female stars. And rock has so many breakup songs that that’s all you hear on the radio. Dimash is humble and not self serving he doesn’t waste music. You’ll find on his channel more than 100 live music videos to pick from. I just welcome you to The world of Dimash this man who sings in 15 languages.

He is definitely the best. He has perfect pitch and as you saw, he puts his whole heart and soul into whatever he sings. Another great song is STRANGER
SOS is the song that introduced Dimash to the world and opened many great opportunities and collaborations for him. There are many versions of Dimash singing this song, and each is different. This version comes from the Digital Concert Dimash put on during the pandemic when live concerts were cancelled all over the world. This song comes from the famous 1978 Canadian-French rock opera 'Starmania', which is well known in French-speaking countries, and is a pretty difficult song to sing. In 2017 Dimash received a wild card for the competition “The Singer” in China. He was the youngest participant ever at 22 years old and the first non-Chinese. Only professional, award-winning singers take part in this competition. Although well-known and respected in his homeland Kazakhstan, nobody in China knew or heard about Dimash before, but with his first song, SOS, Dimash shocked the audience and captured the hearts of over 600 million of viewers overnight, and the rest is history as the saying goes.

I think Dimash has saved people. He's the most inspiring human I know. If there was some "BEST Human of the WORLD" Award then Dimash would likely get the most amount of votes. If you go down the rabbit hole and discover how many languages he speaks and instruments he plays and styles of voices he can sing. The thing is he does this perfectly. This is Dimash's 2021 Digital Show. Recorded now, but it was streamed originally. He loves doing live concerts, but covid measures had made it impossible to travel and have large audiences, so he did this concert. DEE-mosh more or less.
He has a lot of classical/opera training, but likes to incorporate a lot of pop techniques also. Classical voice training has a long history of very scientific methods, but it is still not normal to have this much range. It took a lot of time and work on his part, about 22 years of training as of this performance. About 3 hours a day for most of that time. You may notice that Dimash fans (Dears) are very dedicated, but our dedication pales in comparison to his intense commitment.

Im a metal head that loves great vocalists, so Dimash is right up my alley. This song is from a rock opera called Starmania, 1978. The original singer Daniel Balavoine couldn't sing this song like Dimash does, with such ease. Dimash sings all genres of music, the only thing i haven't heard from him is screamo music. Lol. But he can use distortion. As for how he sings like he does.....who knows. Most of us are here to enjoy. Thanks for reacting.

@@gracelatour3441 🥰 FWIW I mostly meant in comparison to him *singing* in so many languages, and partly meant the "only" as ironic because, as you point out, being fluent in "just" two languages is still pretty impressive in and of itself.
That said, I think his English is getting impressive, and I daresay the upcoming year in the US will round that out, so I can see it being *three* by his early 30s. That will be impressive, in a way that's entirely distinct from him singing songs well in 15 languages or whatever it is these days, which is also impressive. In short, one of the ways he's most impressive is the sheer range of ways in which he's impressive. 🤯

It’s Dimash’s digital concert during the pandemic on January 16th 2021. 400 people were involved in putting on the digital concert which was absolutely amazing. The concert lasted 1 hour and 3/4 and all the songs are on Dimash’s UA-cam channel. It was incredible, the whole concert. At this stage in the live streamed concert, he had already performed a few very difficult songs!

Debido a la pandemia, Dimash realizó éste concierto sin público, pagamos por el derecho a verlo. Dimash también participó en la competencia de talentos, pero se retiró, viendo que no era respetable competir contra dos niños en la final. Es curioso, pero tiene una canción que se llama "screaming" Las Obras de Dimash son muy variadas. La más reciente, El Amor en Tí, History of one sky, Stranger, Ikanaide. Dimash tiene la voz más hermosa e increíble que he escuchado en mi vida, lo sigo hace años, me fascina su arte, su entrega e interpretación.. Es un cantante neoclásico, mezcla ópera con folk, rock, pop, canto étnico, etc.. Puede cantar desde un registro de barítono a soprano y domina las técnicas vocales con una habilidad poco vista... Amo su voz, su música y también lo amo por su calidad humana, por fomentar el amor y la paz entre las personas, te recomiendo a que veas una de sus últimas composiciones que le tomó tres años terminar, entrega un mensaje profundo de paz y amor y además demuestra todo su rango vocal, es hermosa, increíble una obra maestra.., se llama "La historia de un cielo" , el vídeo (cortometraje) esta en su canal oficial de UA-cam...

Pero te aseguro que avanzando con él ni siquiera te importará, solo querrás sentirlo.

All singers sing as well as they can. Dimash sings as he wants. Every new song of his is a new discovery and wonder. He is the king of vocals. It has a range of more than 7 octaves, absolute volume control. There is no singer in the world who can have such vocal technique. It fills stadiums. I attended his concert in Düsseldorf, Germany. There’s a young female version of this kind of talent, I feel, with Diana Ankudinova “Can’t Help Falling in Love “ will never be the same for me. Angelina Jordan and Hua Chenyu are also absolutely stunning and incredible artists and performers. I’m 67 and never heard voices or talents like these four but Dimash stands alone, imo! Dimash is a 28-years old singer from Kazakhstan and believe me, you’ve seen nothing at all. In my opinion you have discovered the best singer in the world. He has perfect pitch and currently has a vocal range of 7,7 octaves (vocal fry C1 (B0) - whistle D8 off the piano). That means he hits notes in almost 8 octaves and sings consistently in 6 octaves. Not in one song (mostly😅). At least what he has shown us so far. He plays several instruments like piano, dombra (a kazach instrument), drums, marimba and more. He has classical as well as contemporary vocal training and sings in different genres from opera to pop, jazz, Kazakh folk, ballads and he even raps a bit. And often he skillfully mixes several genres in one song. And meanwhile in more than 10 languages. The latest songs (from Tokyo Jazz Festival in November 2021) are Ikanaide in Japanese and at his concert in Almaty on September 23, 2022 he sang a new song in Spanish (about 7 languages in one concert!).
He sings no mainstream and is a completely independent artist. He has his own company „DimashAli Creative Center“ and is managed by his father Kanat. Maybe that’s the reason you never heard of him yet. He doesn’t sell his soul to a music label. He doesn’t want to be dictated by money when he has to sing what, when, where and how.
Many of my favorite songs are in his native tongue. He is a nice, respectful and humble person. He respects people regardless of their original, religion or profession. He truly loves his homeland Kazakhstan and his people with all his heart and always shows it with pride in many of his songs, concerts and interviews. During his concerts in Dubai, Düsseldorf and Prague in 2022, before he performed his song War And Peace, he told the audience he loves all people in every country. And there are no bad nations (only bad leaders). And I absolutely believe this.
His concert in September 23, 2022 was in his hometown Almaty, it was so amazing and it lasts almost 4 hours. Believe it or not but he really gets better and better. Every time you think you know him and his art1, you realize your so wrong.
He's very spiritual and thankful for the gift God has given him. But he also works very hard to improve his vocal skills.
He said in an interview he trains every day at least 3 hours and he swims under water very often to increase his lung capacity. He's a singer you can't put in any box. He sings almost every genre there is. Every time you watch a video, expect the unexpected. Even the covers he sings he makes his own and brings elements into the song that you would never expect. Don't be surprised if you get suggestions for songs you may have already seen. Dimash has different versions of many of the same songs. They are all worth seeing. He sang this song on his digital concert in January 2021 during the pandemic. He had to cancel his tour and did this concert for his Dears/fans. That’s why there was no audiende to be seen or heard.
SOS is a song in the rock-opera „Starmania“ from 1978. The first who presented this song was the French singer and songwriter Daniel Balavione.
SOS was the first performance of the China competition (in 2017) and was his first appearance in this show. The Singer is a show in China where only established singers are invited to perform. All the singers invited to this show are already well-known artists in China who have already won awards. Dimash was invited as the first foreigner as a wild card and the youngest in the history of this show. They became aware of him because he had already won some important competitions in Kazakhstan and Belarus, among others. He was still completely unknown in China. Actually, it was intended that he would only have 1 or 2 appearances. But it came completely different. When he woke up the next morning after his first performance of SOS he was a megastar in China and even found bodyguards outside his hotel room. SOS’ first video had 600 million views when it aired. He was just 22 years old at the time.

The musicians who accompany him are called A-Studio. It's a Kazakh band that wrote this song in 1998. However, Dimash sang it differently. And in my opinion much better 😄.
The gentleman at the end you see standing and clapping is the famous Russian/Ukrainian composer, producer and songwriter Igor Krutoy. He has come out of retirement to work with Dimash. True masterpieces were created. He writes songs that only Dimash could sing with his vocal range, such as Olimpico, Stranger or Ave Maria. You’ll often see him accompanying Dimash on the piano. The two have no contract. Their cooperation is based more on mutual trust. It’s more like a father/son relationship.
If possible, always watch the videos to the end. Very often there are interesting things to learn. Either there’s something to laugh about, or he’s talking to his audience. He always thanks his musicians. He is incredibly humble and never acts like a star. When he is praised, he constantly says that it is thanks to his teachers and his parents, who made it all possible for him. He’s just incredible.
