The best rendition of this song that I have ever heard was also KD Lang but at the 2010 Vancouver Olympic Games opening ceremonies. This is a must watch/listen. When her vocals kick in for that performance you could physically feel the breath come out of all 60,000 people attending. It was absolutely amazing.
You must listen to her rendition of Roy Orbison’s crying…it is a masterpiece!!!!

@@deborahbaye6079Johnny Cash, johnny cash, his in-laws was the. The Carter's Johnny did a album gospel. Johnny did gospel songs with the carters bring a fire. Johnny Cash and a Carter Family would be A. That would be most stuck salenti Johnny Cash. I'm the Carter fan boy doing the song ring. RING of fire ring up. No, no, not ring of fire, let me doing a circle being broken
Great reaction. K D does an amazing cover of Roy Orbison’s song “Crying”. There is a video of Roy and K D performing a duet of this song.
I am a 79 year old white woman. I had an interesting experience watching you while listening to this. All of a sudden I was aware that we were feeling very similar things in response to it and twice I realized we both took one of those long soulful breaths at the same place in the song. Why is this so noteworthy? I realized we were connected on a very human level and at this moment we were very similar, we were not different. We were not black and white, male or female, old or young, we were divine creations in sync-connected by something bigger than the both of us. Thank You
Yes!!❤❤❤❤❤❤
Music brings the world together.
Beautiful. ❤❤❤❤❤
So beautifully expressed-thankyou💐💐💐
❤❤❤
KD Lang has to be the most underrated female vocalist ever.
Oooh, idk, I'd put Ann Wilson up there.
This!!!❤
She used to claim - reincarnated Patsy Cline - believable.
Ann Wilson is American from Seattle.
@@cathycornelissen1777 and?
She's been a Canadian treasure for years.Celine can sing, but KD got the soul and heart.
Yes indeed!
Her first album 'Absolute Torch and Twang' is genius. I used to listen to it on repeat in the early 90s.
So true! She seems more 'real' than Celine. O Canada, eh? (said this NS girl)
Well said!! K.D. Lang has been my #1 true musician, vocalist, musical storyteller!! There is no pretence in her vocals…just pure sound quality.
Absolutely agree with you all. KD went to Red Deer , Ab. Canada college for music, and used to stop in to the old Buffalo hotel for Saturday afternoon jams, she blew us away. This was in the early 1990s.
KD LANG is a master. If you want another treat listen to her sing LIVE Roy Orbisons CRYING OMG.
I still think about that recording. I’m not a huge fan of KD’s music style but her voice is unrivalled. And Hallelujah and Crying are beyond words great.
agree🎉
That performance in KD Lang’s early career with Row Orbison was magic. I listened to it, watched it and loved it for decades.
Brilliant!
ditto
In case you are not aware, before Leonard Cohen died, he said KD Lang's version of this song was his favorite.
I’m a diehard fan of both versions. Yet never knew that. Thank you!
That is beautiful.
True, after Leonard Cohen heard KD sing Hallelujah , he said this song never has to be sung by another artist
In my opinion, her absolute best performance of Hallelujah is from the opening ceremonies at the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver. Being Canadian, I treasure that two of the most talented musicians are also Canadian - Leonard Cohen, who I got to see in concert when he was 76 was soooo amazing, and k.d. lang, who is off-the-charts amazing, has been an icon for so many years. I am surprised that you had never heard of her prior to listening to this concert. Believe me, Canadian artists are so underated and are so worthy of a listen. Congratulations for recognizing these talents and showcasing them on your channel. I came across it quite by accident. CHILLS - TREMBLES - GOOSEBUMPS - That's our k.d. singing to us.
I didn't know that! both versions are terrific. I loved Leonard Cohen.
k d lang sang this at the Vancouver Olympics and there was a huge amount of joy! It made me so happy as a Canadian to show a beautiful song written by a Jewish man and performed by a lesbian woman in no shoes that made everyone tear up!
You can add Buddhist to the list ...that's why the bare feet😊
According to his son, they asked Leonard Cohen to sing at the Olympics. He said no, that kd lang sang the ultimate rendition.
That Canadian Jewish man, Leonard Cohen, was a great poet and his music is so special-Suzanne, Dance me to the End of Life, Anthem etc
The Olympics performance just broke me. In the best way possible lol. Closest thing to having a 'spiritual moment' I've experienced in my life. Such a simple but powerful presence, has K.d.
@@carolynquinn8325her Olympic performance was one of the most breath taking performances that I have ever heard. Incredible!!!!!
Cohen's partner, singer Anjani Thomas, said: "After hearing k.d. lang perform that song at the Canadian Songwriter's Hall of Fame in 2006 we looked at each other and said, 'well, I think we can lay that song to rest now! It's really been done to its ultimate blissful state of perfection'."
I still think Jennifer Warnes' version is just as good.
Everytime I hear her sing, no matter what song it is, I get tears and goosebumps. Her voice is a gift.
Me too!
KD’s voice is pitch perfect. Effortless, flawless, and pure as she glides through the notes, half notes… her ear misses nothing. She’s a gift to all who listen.
Her voice is like butter. Perfection.
And her timing is different than anyone else's, and yet works so well
I would have loved to hear her duet with either George Michaels or Freddy Mercury.
KD Lang has been a completely underrated singer.
Only to people who never heard her sing.
You took the words right out of my keyboard, @@sitori663
She is one of my favourite singers, had the privilege of seeing her live in concert twice ❤
Perhaps to mainstream radio pop/rock/hip -hop but she is very well appreciated in country, folk-rock and folk-country listeners.
Not to us Canadians!! She is one of our greatest treasures!
Her voice is unmistakable and she is a true Canadian National Treasure! She also likes to sing in bare feet! Gotta love KD Lang! ❤❤
So did Anne Murray! Interesting...
@@kathcasey2090 so did Rita McNeil. (or Macneil?)
This believe that when the singer is bare foot on stage heor she can feel the vibration of the band playing. It is very grounding and felt throughout the body. Connects the performer to the music even more. Such a spiritual experience. You can tell KD feels the emotion of the music. The band members feel this in the instruments, and they are all as one, singer and band, shared with the audience. Wow. Magical.
It is like standing in the grass barefoot on a beautiful day and feeling the rythmn of the earth in your feet. This changes with each season, and our bodies and mind respond. God gave us all such gifts- I am grateful for the experience.
@@marianneslater1766 - Thank you for sharing. I too feel the rhythm of the earth sometimes.
Check out KD Lang"s "CRYING" and "CONSTANT CRAVING" to be blown away again. She's incredible.
My two fav’s
Yes, definitely those.
She has such a beautiful voice!
Crying by KD Lang
I first saw KD singing “Crying” with Roy Orbison on some TV variety show. Blew Me Away!
No gimmicks, no strobing lights, no backup singers. This is REAL talent.
The testament to how good KD’s version is the fact that Leonard Cohen said it was the best he heard. Thanks so much for this reaction. 👏👏🥰
I do believe he was at one of her performances of this and loved it.
I believe his words were, "Well, it's her song now."
He also told Jon Bon Jovi that his cover was the best. I don't know the timing. I love k.d. Lang, and I hated the way country music treated her when she came out as being gay. BUT, I like Jon's cover better, it's a live version before the surgery that messed up his throat. I got mad at him when I learned that he still smoked. All of us '80s kids get passes on some things. We didn't know what smoking did long-term to you back in the day. Our music and our movies are what the new generation is trying to "improve" on. You can't improve on perfection so they need to think up some of their new sh*t.
But, he knows what addiction is and cigarettes are an addiction that will kill you. Ask Eddie Van Halen, may he rest in peace, it started with smoking. He should've stopped smoking once we knew it could kill you! He's got enough money for whatever treatment plan was required. But, it's sad to listen to him try to sing their anthem songs. He can't do it anymore. He needs to change the arrangements around to fit this new voice or write new songs. Something has to change. I know it's getting close to the holidays, and the New Year, so he should make a New Year's Resolution to stop smoking and keep it! Maybe the gift he was born with could be returned if the house was finally clean. But, the way he sings it live, gives me chills. You should go look it up.
he also said that Pentatonix had the best version
@@Gwennedd when he was present at one of her performances singing Hallelujah he cried - I don't recall him ever crying EVER before that
Without a doubt KD does this better than anyone! Proud to be Canadian!
You betcha!!! ❤ 🇨🇦 ❤
Floor Jensen?
KD Lang is comfortable singing anything.
The woman has one of the best voices anywhere, ever. Gives me chills, no matter what she sings.
She has a perfect voice IMO. For me only Samara Joy has a more perfect voice
@@pamstuckey8349 I had not heard of Samara Joy before reading this comment. I thought if someone was mentioning her in the same breath as k.d. lang, then I will check her out. OMG! I am so glad I stumbled across your comment. Thank you.
Someone to watch over me"
Check out her album,"DRAG"
The first time I saw her on TV I was in love. Couldn't believe her voice. Tony Bennit said she had the voice of an angel. He should know.
Constant Craving is one of her more popular songs and I still love it. And yes, Crying is another chills-giver. Probably more than this one! What I love so much about KD Lang is her remaining so humble as well. You can see it on her face at the end of this performance. What a blessing she is.
Definitely ❣️❣️
I was just thinking the same. Constant Craving is soooooo on point. She articulated what im sure many couldnt.
I used to frequent a local dive in the mid 90's after work. Among the regulars was a drummer from a major 60's band (he will remain nameless here). The jukebox mostly sucked, but I found "Constant Craving" and played it. He looked at me and said thank-you, that is a great artist and a masterpiece of a song. High praise for this artist and song from a very talented musician.
I love that about her too. She's never been on an ego trip. In the beginning her name would be displayed, 'kd lang', all lowercase. If I remember correctly, she did that on purpose because she was just delivering the music. She wanted the music to be the focal point.
Yes! Constant Craving is beautiful! I think that was her first big hit. (??) But, I absolutely love her singing at the beginning and end of Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil. (Starshine?) She has such a pure voice. Almost magical. ❤ 🎶
Bless our Canadian girl!!! The fact that she can sing is an understatement. She is wonderful!!!!
KD is another amazing Canadian musical icon. She always, ALWAYS gets a standing ovation.
KD Lang. The woman with the golden voice. I remember her running up to accept a Canadian Juno award when she burst onto the scene in a wedding dress and cowboy boots. She is a unique and amazing human being.
That was my first time I remember seeing or hearing about her, lol! She is spectacular!
Yup,I remember that. Awesomeness ❤
I remember that.
Wasn't she awesome?!! 😊
IMHO- kd lang is the best female singer that ever lived.
K.D. Lang is our Canadian Iconic Treasure. Nobody sings this song like she does. The absolute best version.
She is a Legend and us Canadians love her to bits. 🇨🇦🇨🇦
Leonard Cohen was still the best!
@@janetf9076 I like KD's version better. Leonard also Canadian.

Thank you for sharing her with the rest of the world! I’m in the US and LOVE K.D.!
Leonard cohen once said hers was the best
How could you not know the superb k.d.lang?!
Leonard actually commented that this was HER song... that's how fully she owns this. Kudos to you for appreciating her.
I heard that said too! This song is hers❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️🌺🌸🌺❤️❤️❤️❤️
Cohen was asked roaming this at the Vancouver Olympics and he responded “why would you want me to sing it when you can have k.d.lang”
I remember hearing about that too and thought it was great that it was another fellow Canadian that received his accolades... what a wonderful honour.....
My favorite version ❤
@@gklein2924🙏🏻💙Mine, as well. Truly a gift of generosity and talent.
K D Lang is all soul. No one can sing this like she can. Always brings tears to my eyes.
Me too, I had tears in my eyes. And she's so sweet and humble!
Yes - sitting here crying.
Count me in as being teary eyed. Every time she sings this song
I’m staggered beyond belief that anyone in the music industry could not know of K.D. let alone Leonard Cohen. Seriously? Tow of the greatest musicians of our era.
❤❤❤
I hear you, but not what he grew up on.
This song is a classic and many performers do it well but no one else sings it like KD Lang. She gives it soul unlike any other. Beautiful voice!
The magic of KD Lang is the absolute purity of her voice. No autotune and no fancy runs. Simple, pure emotion and clear tone. It’s rare to find that anymore.
KD Lang’s rendition of this masterpiece is as close as one gets to a religious experience🙏🙏
As was Leonard’s , I have listened for years to both. This was the most amazing I have heard her
Yessss❤
Yesssss. I was fortunate a few years ago to sit in front row at a small fund raiser gathering of hers and she sang this song (barefoot of course😏
Wasn’t a dry eye in the place. Your heart simply exploded 💓
She can channel many songs with her talent and soul, but boy o girl! This song, many have tried to cover, no one got it like KD. Even Leonard Cohen agreed.
One of the purest, truest voices in the biz.
I've heard hundreds of versions of this song, yet her performance brought tears to my eyes and goosebumps all over....
Beautiful!!
KD Lang is just breathtaking when she sings this song! Goosebumps! No one does this better, no one!
100% agree❤
Just got another chill. The song is perfection. KD raises it to the divine.
One of the best concerts I'd ever been to was KD Lang. No flash, no costume changes, no dancers. Just this effortless voice and her band. This song blows you away in person.
Same here! She is just amazing.
I’m jealous! I love KD! So underrated!
100%
I saw her at my local fair......she was new to performing. I've loved her voice since that day.. so many, many years ago.
Agree. Live performances are magical and treasured.
What a perfect reaction. I’ve listened to her sing this countless times and ALWAYS covered with goosebumps. She is truly incomparable. Her voice is truly a gift from God.
You need to watch her performing this at the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics...it was beyond breathtaking. Trust me ❤
Wish I could have been there. Will Canada take retirees?
This woman's voice could break your heart . She's got more than a gift !
I'm so proud of my fellow Canadians. Leonard for writing the song and KD for delivering the best version of it at the Olympics in Vancouver.
Me too! Alberta all the way.
Gave me chills. Adore this singer.
My favorite version of her singing it - so incredible
Just rewatched 2010 Olympics version from the opening ceremonies..makes me cry everytime...and for a giggle, rewatched kd lang at 1988 Calgary Olympics closing ceremonies ...that was an amazing 2 week party, complete with Eddie the eagle and Jamaican bobsledders. "CONSTANT craving" by kd lang was given credit by Rolling Soles for their song "Anybody seen my baby". And "crying" sung by kd is showstopping
From Detroit...thankful for my Canadian neighbors. She is amazing.
Polo, K.d.Lang has been performing since 1981... I've been listening to her since the late '80's.... She's a Keeper !
I remember her playing at the bar in Mount Royal College in Calgary. Probably 1982/83. That voice was always there!
One Great Canadian artist -KD Lang ❤singing the work of one of Canada’s greatest -Leonard Cohen❤
One of KDs finest moments… still gets me all these years later. Her performance of it at the Olympics was one of the greatest moments in music ever.
One of the most beautiful voices in music in the last 50 years or more. An interpreter, with full mastery and control of a song.
She has an exquisite voice and it just gets better and better.
KD Lang’s voice is very underrated ! Thank you for featuring her!
She sang Crying at the Roy Orbison memorial concert and it was incredible. A 4 minute standing ovation.
KD Lang had all of Canada in tears when she sang this in the opening ceremony for the 2010 Olympics. She sings it with such emotion, you can’t help but be moved by it
Not just Canada! In the U.S., I set my VCR to tape her, not even knowing what song she was going to sing, but knowing it would be outstanding. I believe she also sang Turn Me Round and did a little square dance. 😃
No one has ever done it better than KD. Her performance at the Vancouver Olympics was the single most powerful performance of any song by anyone I have ever experienced🇨🇦
I will never forget that moment ever! I have yet to find a cover of this song more moving. It’s a masterpiece!
I still get teary-eyed when I watch that performance ❤
Thank you
I'm almost 58 years old. I've heard them all from the 50's to modern day. KD Lang is my ALL TIME favorite female singer. Her power, clarity and gorgeously full voice just gets me.
Two iconic Canadians, KD Land and Leonard Cohen. RIP Leonard
A song by a Canadian legend sung by a Canadian legend. I second the recommendation for Crying. She is from the same province I am. I remember her coming out at a time when that was not easy. She has always been uniquely herself and I greatly admire her.
Oh and by the way she is Canadian!
KD has, quite simply, one of the most gorgeous voices in human history.
KD is one of the best singers ever. She is a legend. Everything she does is moving and incredible. Her country songs are incredible.
This performance is a masterpiece, never to be surpassed. The look of humility on KD Lang's face during the ovation brought a tear to my eye as well.
KD Lang's voice is golden syrup.
I wasn't expecting tears to accompany my morning coffee. Check out her performance of this song at the 2010 Olympics opening ceremony. Proud Canadian supporting a Canadian legend.

2 Canadian legends, in this case.
k.d. lang is a rare breed of artist. She sings with her entire mind, body, and soul - she always has.
An amazing singer. We Canadians are so proud to call KD “ours”🇨🇦🇨🇦❤️
Amen!
I'm an82yr old white woman, and I've been listening to KD Lang for more years than I can remember. I love her power and sensitivity, and speakes the message of individuality, and strength, especially to women. Thank you!

Why does age and skin colour matter? It shouldn't.
@@lisbetsoda4874, if age seems important for an author to mention it in their message, then this is an integral part in the message.

@@gailbenjamin3274 I know...I was there and she was awesome.
Celine Dion Barbara Streisand Whitney Houston....so many others and they don’t come close to KD she sings with every part of her being, she transports you and when she shares her gift with this piece of music you don’t realise you are crying until the tears fall off your chin. A huge talent, so huge she found her way out of small town rural Alberta and against all odds her voice brought her to world attention and for them that had not had the joy of listening to her the Olympic Games performance in Canada changed that forever. Canadian icon.
KD Lang is one of the wonders of the world💕💕💕💕💕💕
She channeled God. See how humble she is in the end, she knows she is of service and she is a Gift to all of human kind.
Well said.
She’s a Buddhist
K.D is a true Canadian gem, she’s from my home province of Alberta and she has one of the best voices ever. Check out her duet with Roy Orbison “ Crying “
I will look up her singing that song. Thank you.
Is K D.Lang still performing
You absolutely cannot go wrong with any song by kd. She is amazing and so humble. She could sing the phone book and I’d listen to it.
Thank you for sharing K.D.'s performance - it was definitely right up there with one of my most proud moments as a Canadian - she was masterful. I grew up listening to K.D. Lang and it was just so perfect that the whole world also sees her talent too.
Lang has 13 albums & 41 singles. perfection
Love KD Lang - she's astonishing. Leonard Cohen was asked to perform this song at the 2010 Olympics Opening Ceremony - he told them to have KD Lang do it - as she does it best.
What an honor🎉❤
I have been touched down to my soul
Wow... I didn't know that. Thanks for sharing.
I adore KD lang…… “ three cigarettes in an ashtray” is a great example of the power of her voice, she can belt!!!
That whole album is amazing!
One of Patsy Cline's first hits!
Well dang, KD never fails. Absolutely the best version, as if the song was meant for her to sing.
~K.D. Lang has a heavenly voice....simply love hearing her sing.
Leonard Cohen declared after he heard KD do this song that he didn't know it when he wrote it decades ago but that nobody, not even himself, could sings this like KD. Her performing this song in front of Leonard Cohen is so moving. Just seeing the master take her hands at the end and give a little bow over them makes me cry every time.
So soothing
Leonard Cohen was one amazing poet and songwriter, but his voice was (in my opinion, only) not able to recognise the fullest extent of beauty in his songs. He could convey emotion well enough, but it's like comparing a pop singer's rendition of Nessum Dorma to Pavarotti's.
@@deathandcats I don't deny that but even angels can't make a really badly written song move the soul. I don't think Mr Cohen ever described himself as a singer; a poet yes, many times. And that's what he was. Canada's poet; he will be forever missed.
As a Canadian, thanks so much for covering a Canadian artist. One of the aspects I love so much about her rendition of Hallelujah is the tension she played with. It was like an elastic band, pushing and pulling and playing at all the right times. Peace.
K d Lang is a formidable singer! Thank u for playing that song.
Leonard the poet and KD the interpreter. Such a beautiful voice
K.D. is amazing. You need to go and read about her career. She was outcasted when she came out and it really hurt her career but she stood strong and kept going. She has an amazing voice and no one can hold a candle to her.
Yeah, Check out her cover shot on Vanity Fair magazine w/ Cindy Crawford. (Aug. 1993) She has said she got tired/exhausted of being the figurehead for lesbian.
Check out her version of Crying.. later years she did a duet with Roy Orbison of it.
Her own songs are gorgeous as well. Her album ‘Ingenue’ is gorgeous. Constant Craving song is a must.
She was extra cast out when she came out against meat. The province she’s from has a huge beef industry, and she was vocal in being vegetarian (this was in the late 80s I think, and that term covered pretty much all vegan/vegetarianism) and anti-meat production. You would have thought she was the Antichrist. She was just unapologetically herself, and I think she’s amazing.
KD Lang has a voice that sounds like crushed velvet and at times almost supernatural with her incredible range. Thank you for posting.
The first time I heard her sing this I was driving home. Had to pull over and just sat to listen. I was by a river and it was a beautiful afternoon. I didn't realize until the song was over that my cheeks were wet from tears. This is a beautiful version, and she has a beautifully velvet voice.
I love this song!! She sang it even better at the 2010 Olympic’s!! ❤
kd’s voice is like velvet, every. Single. Time. Absolutely angelic.
KD Lang is one of the few singers who can routinely bring me to tears....her singing is so emotive and so beautiful!
Me too!
Same!
Wow, what a beautiful song. She sings it so effortlessly, and from her heart.
KD Lang is a purest in vocals, nobody sings like her, absolute joy to close your eyes and soak it in.
This is the most personalized rendition of this song. Vocalized by someone who has loved and sacrificed and lost. A mature understanding of the glory, and joy, and heartbreak, that is loving someone else.
The Olympics version was even better than this one. The emotion of singing for her country was heightened
KD Lang has been around for years and just keeps getting better. Fantastic voice and stage presents. Listen to her sing "Crying" it will blow your mind.
This performance was the #1 hit of the Leonard Cohen Tribute-- she brought the house down.... so many performers on that show.
I've had the good fortune to hear KD sing that song live 4 times - each time it's totally amazing - she is a brilliant singer 💗
Thanks for listening to KD Lange!!! She always gives me goosebumps when I hear her sing. I believe she's one of the best singers ever. She has such power and beauty in her voice..
I so agree. She is amazing
I agree. I think she is one of the best singers. She is fantastic! I became a fan of hers the first minute of hearing her sing years ago. I hope to meet her some day to thank her for sharing her passion of singing with all of us.
Little footnote. She doesn't use capital letters in her name - I read it in a biography but can't remember why. Hers is still the best concert I've seen in 30 years.
Her album Hymns of the 49th Parallel is an album of Canadian songs she covers....absolutely sublime.
Incredible album, never get tired of it! KD Lang is one of my all time favourite artists ❤
Totally agree with you. I played that until it was worn out. Need to buy it again.
Agree Agree Agree!!!
Absolutely sublime, mad talent all round (song writers and singer)
70 year old hear. KD Lang's Hallelujah is INCREDIABLE!! I have watched several different performances over and over for years now. A lot a people don't realize, Leonard Cohen wrote several different verses to this song. Many of these verses have never been heard.
KD Lang had the most pure voice I have ever heard! She has the voice of an angel! Headphones are a must when listening to her breathtaking voice.
Loved kd since her country days waaaaay back. She makes me proud to Canadian and her version of Hallelujah is my very very favourite. She also sang with Tony Bennett and it was so gorgeous. Thank you for featuring her 🇨🇦
Kd lang is the voice of the century. Warm smooth and clear. What a gift
she's alway has been phenomenal in everything she sings..good choice
The most smokey sultry voice ever and the perfect pairing with Tony Bennett. ❤❤❤
Her versions of crying and constant craving are amazing.
kd lang is one of the greatest voices EVER. she is an incredible artist, and an incredible woman. she was openly gay way back in the late 80's/early 90's, right from the start of her career. this was so bold and so brave of her, as this was still a time when performers just did not do such things. kd always had so much talent, and so much depth to her soul and connection to singing, that her coming out didn't hold her back, really. the public saw and heard what she could do, and they embraced her. I've seen her in concert twice, and she is one of the best live performers I have ever seen. both concerts gave her a standing ovation after "crying" mid-show! the only time I've seen a mid-show standing ovation at a concert like that. and one show was at radio city music hall, so it was all of those people! we all stood and cheered. her version of "crying" is on this same level as "hallelujah". it is a fusion of singer and song and soul that reaches another level of greatness,.
definitely check out her cover of Roy Orbison's "crying". either the mtv unplugged video or her singing at a Roy Orbison tribute when she was really young. they are both brilliant performances. also the original video for "pulling back the reigns" is incredible. this is from about 1989/90, it was one of her first videos. it is amazing to see how right from the start she knew who she was, and what her gifts were. the video for "pulling back the reigns" shows us who she is, and what she can do for us. it is a great performance. her more commercial stuff like "constant craving" and "miss chatelaine" are also wonderful. kd is always her own, specific artist. in each one of these songs/videos she has a very specific look she is working with, and then always that gorgeous huge voice is at her command. I feel lucky to be alive when kd lang is turning out her art. she has made my life a better place.
KD lang does it the best ever. It warmed my heart watching you take in this song she is a master vocalist. in my humble opinion. it was amazing. I will save this vidwo.
My lord, K. D. Lang takes the word from a traditional one of praise to a desperate, primordial cry wrenched from her gut. Magnificent.
k d. Lang is a Canadian 🇨🇦 treasure, who began her career in western Canada, city of Edmonton ( my hometown) she adored / worshipped Roy Orbison as well as Patsy Cline & has done incredible covers of their songs, waiting for you to discover 🥰. Her performance of Hallelujah at Vancouver, BC Olympics is astounding, this version you played is also wonderful ☮️🇨🇦

I want to add that back around Edmonton, before she was actually 'found', she was a truck driver!
Isn’t she fabulous! I discovered her in my 20’s. I’m in my 70s now and was just as wonderful listening to her again.
How would you have know about her 50 odd years ago. She's only 62 yrs old. She would have been 12.
My question also.
