I love the opening! “I came to shoot, then realized everything is different. Well good thing I brought my camera and tripod cause this deserves a video.”
I suggest building out 2 AR's: 1) LONG RANGE/SNIPER CONFIGURATION 2) SHORT RANGE/AUTO MODE CONFIGURATION And I'd carry a great 9mm for your SHTF GEAR!!
A *quality sling* really surprised me - when configured right they act as another "form of contact" and really helps stabilize your weapon. With the, uh, "excitement" surrounding braces and other accessories we have to be smart about how we move forward. Nice list! All essential. And you're right - *buy once, cry once* 👌
I go with Buttstock, grip, optic, forward grip, iron sights.. light, lazer.. Thanks for pointing out really important things that we should take into consideration! I didn't even think about them that way..so thankx!
I got the Ruger AR 556 as my first ever AR a while back and I used the xtra cash to get an Eotech XPS-2 and I’m glad I got a quality optic and some duramags with magpul iron sights
I always go hard (AF) with stock, for the first three months, then get started on the mods, but never without having the chance to "feel" the upgrade effect. As always, great vid. bro!
Depends on the gun, could be BCG, barrel, trigger, but optics should have irons and illumination, and a alig, that all keeps me accurate and reliable. Yeah then buttstock maybe, foregrip, flashlight, bipod, charging handle. It all depends on the gun I am starting with. Definitely agree training is #1 then mags and ammo, then irons, I can get by from there and that is where it qould depend on the firearm to know what would be needed and what I am using it for. Thank you, love CMMG, most underrated AR platform out there Maybe. I love mine.
Excellent video ! Great advice too ! Training and safety are always paramount . While I am not about to go fight a war {63 yrs old } home invasion tactics are a great option
My ar10 build accessories: magpul bipod with magpul mlok picatinny mount, amazon detachable picatinny mount. This allows me to quick detach bipod for cqb. I also have a swampfox 2-12x lpvo with detachable mount. An arisaka cantid mount with holosun red dot 507c x2. My purpose is to run a dmr style AR10 .308 with cqb capabilities. Also, get blue loctite, screws will loosen and this simple thing will help your gun frlm unraveling while in the field
b5 stock charge handle trigger b5 pistol grip some sort of front grip aid, either AFG or vert grip optics kind of a gimme to me. thats my first 5 must do upgrades
I just bought a db-15…. These are my planned upgrades everything is in OD Green a Magpul crt stock a FAB pistol and vertical grips a timber creek enhanced (oversized) magazine release Magpul enhanced ejectior dust cover a tru glo camo scope and a cmc 3.5 drop in trigger. I’ll add an ambidextrous safety and sling when my money recharges oh and an Aero Precision Breech charging handle…did I forget anything? I chose OD Green because everyone has a black AR and not a fan of coyote or fde which is basically tan
For me... "Ergo" grip (HK style) C-more type sight. Flip up iron sights. (backups) Sling. I tried a vertical forward grip, but _it doesn't work for me._ I'm use to horizontal. I think flashlights are a mistake; it tells the bad guys exactly where you are! I don't want to weigh myself down with gadgets. Better to carry more ammo! While I prefer a full A2 stock (because it eats more recoil), I keep an extra lower rigged with a 6 position collapsible. It's there if the situation calls for it. JMO!!!😁

Only thing I would add is I saw a video a while back of a vet who talked about flashlights on your weapons and how in combat sometimes the light isn’t a good thing at certain moments and those pressure switches on the grip sometimes accidentally go off and give away your location so they would put tape over the lights and just pull it off as needed but then somebody patented a product which is just a simple flip on and off cap to attach to flashlights sort of how you can do with sights and scopes. I thought it was a good idea doesn’t add any extra weight and serves a good purpose for a scenario most people don’t think about.
Good video, good list, thanks. Not worried about a $400 aftermarket trigger as long as the stock trigger is decent out of the box, which I find that most are.
@@jaredcaldwell4270I even bought my top of the line Rise Armament (RA-535) on sale for like 175$ And it’s one of those 300$ triggers, you can find even Geiselle triggers for as low as 150-170$. Really good upgrade honestly.
Depending on how your AR comes... I would go optic 1st. Then a flashlight or flashlight/laser combo 2nd if you have a rail, if not then a rail would be 2nd then a light 3rd. A sling would be my 4th choice. Finally... it really depends but I would probably choose a new stock. Generally the triggers are good enough as well as the muzzle device (which is usually an A2 birdcage). Depending on your needs a different muzzle device could be 5th. This is of course if we were limited to just 5 options. I would put a new grip and maybe even a new trigger in as well as we aren't limited.
1. Optic: (Acog, Vortex, Eo-Tech) *And If you have the cash ($10K) the Trijicon Electro Optics SNIPE-IR 35mm Clip-On Thermal Imaging Monocular or the Steiner eOptics Close Quarter Red Dot Thermal Sight 9510. 2. Trigger: (Franklin Armory binary trigger, TriggerTech Diamond, Hiperfire: 24c, Eclipse, & 3 gun) 3. Magpul AFG1 with the Midwest Industries Barricade Stop 4. Charging handle: Radian Raptor, CMMG & (for the money) the TRYBE Defense Ambidextrous Enhanced Mil-Spec Charging Handle is a GREAT BUY!) 5. *Cryptic Coatings Mystic Black Bolt Carrier Group. Expensive $270 (when they are in stock) but if you get one, you'll thank me. 6. Light/IR Light/Laser combo.
Can you you guys make banshee/rdb compatible adapters to use pistol mags in standard lowers? Having to buy a dedicated lower in order to use a rdb upper is a major inconvenience, especially for us in CA with very limited AR pistol options. More caliber options for conversion mags like you have for 9mm would also work.
Have you done a video on the flash hider for your defcans? I'd enjoy one of those. I was hoping Defcans would work with Surefire warcomps, but your customer support folks said it does not. So, i've held off buying either while i try to find a decent review of your 5.56 flash hider.
Great list! Mine would be…. 1. Red dot/LPVO depending on your main purpose for that particular AR. 2. Bright white light 3. Good quality sling 4. Fore grip/hand stop 5. Charging handle. This list is assuming you started out by putting a good quality bcg inside from the beginning.
I love you guys! I love the videos. I love the firearms parts and i love the guns! Im in the process of building a 45ACP radial delayed blowback carbine and i cant wait to get it together and try it out!!! Even with all the price gouging of ammo its way cheaper to shoot pistol caliber carbines for fun and training! Although i still want my large caliber long guns too! LOL
A sling or carry strap, a quality weapon-mounted light, and a quality optic. Those are the bare-bone basics in today's world. I was in the military when optics were limited to high-speed operators and the choices were nowhere near as extensive as they are now. Everything else may be considered optional, depending on your needs. I happen to like extended mag releases to the point that I've placed them on all my AR's. A muzzle brake may well be a necessity if you are competition shooting.
What about someone who’s looking to fine tune and upgrade a 300 series resolute in 556? I was thinking about getting a nickel boron plated cmmg bcg and I want to change colors on my cherrakote
That's the beauty of the AR. There really is no right or wrong answer. Modify/Upgrade the parts to suit your needs. These were just a few options in the video.
I like you all's lower parts kits and mil spec triggers. I use them in all my AR's. BTW you're a Big Boy, you don't need to tell the world you have enough sense to clear your firearms and all you Yo's who comment about that get out of your momma's basement, wash the Cheetos dirt off your fingers and grow up. Great little video Bub.
A sling, iron sights, lots of ammo, lots of mags, lots of quality practice. Everything else is a waste of money. The only accessory I would recommend is a quality suppressor.
I love your AR brother But I just don’t like the forward Exist 🤮👎 they just don’t look good on AR Well are y’all going to stop making forward Exist on your AR please it looks like 💩
All of their income is spent on trucks and guns. Both are toys but not an investment. Financial crisis are No.1 everyday struggles , no one wants to kill you everyday since you have nothing to lose.
1) red dot
2) charging handle
3) trigger
4)angled fore grip
5)muzzle break or compensator
5
The last statement was the best one. The best accessory is a well trained you...bravo 👏
Thanks for making it that far into the video! All the accessories in the world don't mean a think if you can run the gun.
That's a necessity not an accessory...
I love the opening! “I came to shoot, then realized everything is different. Well good thing I brought my camera and tripod cause this deserves a video.”

Optic, BUIS, Light & Sling is all you need.
I go with Buttstock, grip, optic, forward grip, iron sights.. light, lazer..
Thanks for pointing out really important things that we should take into consideration! I didn't even think about them that way..so thankx!
#1 preferred optic
#2 sling
Everything else is personal choice. But the above two are mandatory!
Excellent video on the basics of AR! Thank you sir!

You forgot the John Wick/Jason Bourne/James Bond “Silencer” that magically turns gunfire into that mystical ‘toes’ sound…
300blk subsonic with a _silencer_ equipped with _wipes_ and a action lock = *movie quiet*
This ☝️

Aiming system, sling, light. I only count 3. KISS.
Accessory #1: Steak and egg breakfast from Bob Evans, Perkins, IHOP, Cracker Barrel etc. Must include coffee, hash browns, toast and pancakes

Good info. Training training training. Always helps. You can have a plain Jane AR and if you have the training you will always be better.
Absolutely!

Not worried about a $400 aftermarket trigger as long as the stock trigger is decent out of the box, which I find that most are.
Most high quality triggers are not $400….
You can get something like a CNC trigger which goes for about $130 to $150 or so, and breaks at about 3.5 pounds or so.

Dope clip brother thanks
Great video Brother! Love the explanation and the details. Just sub’d. Keep going
Build my rifle, resolute 300 458 so COM, been on order since April
Thanks Mike.... Definitely well trained you....Is most important....
Like your videos..
Some shooters have astigmatism so skip the red dot and go with a prism optic like the Vortex spitfire 3X.
Prism type optics are always a good option too. Optics can be as diverse as the firearms they go on.
your fore grip was installed backwards bud. Angle goes forward for better recoil management to pull that rifle back to your shoulder.
Love that tshirt
You did it imcredible fast and good

Believe it or not, the magazine design for such a project is one of the trickiest parts. We are always looking at more options 😉
Another gem from Mike and CMMG. Love you guys!
I think you made a quality video here. When you mentioned training it hit me how important it is. 👍🏻
Can you give us a list of the accessories showing the names, model numbers, and maybe links of good places to purchase them?
Agree with the CH upgrade but that one is a bit much.
A bipod is useful for bench and long range shooting.
All you need red dot ,irons and light (and obv lots of mags)
Good info no bs
Bought your mod4sa live the thing found it under 500 best deal if my life rifle is exceptional and functions incredibly
1. Reliable sights. Good irons. Red dot. Or LPVO. What ever suits your needs.
2. A sling.
3. A light.
4. Training.
5. More training!!
Nice vid but, it would be nice if you included links to where I can purchase some of these items...
The YT overlords don't allow links for firearms or related product. We can't even link to our own website.
I agree, we should be given ammo and magazines.
Hold up. What stock do you have with the strap brand? I want the whole setup for my daniel defense
Just purchased my first AR, just curious are solar powered optics a thing??
Have you done a video on the flash hider for your defcans? I'd enjoy one of those.

2. Bright white light
3. Good quality sling
4. Fore grip/hand stop
5. Charging handle.

Shuld i go for 556 or 308?

Other than the original trigger it's just a different horse with the same name!

🤣

😂😂😂 coming up next 😂😂😂😂😂
Daddythumb schoold me ...
Light
sling
optic

@@CMMG It is of the utmost importance, very stylish, and immensely comfortable, so I would have to give it a number 1+++ to the 3rd power repeating.

I’m glad he didn’t try to pass “training “ as an accessory. Training is paramount but not the topic thank you
Rather than buying a fancy charging handle, its alot cheaper to just upgrade the latch on the handle.
Nothing can or will replace your physical fitness and mindset ! A;; the other jink is just more junk !
Ammunition and magazines are necessities, not accessories
i cant take advice from someone who doesent have backup sights
If charging handle wasn't on your list I was going to give you thumbs down. Good job!
Thank god you didn’t say suppressor!!! One of the most pointless add ons I can think of
Your list is wrong and my list is better 😜 welcome to ar15 internet junkies.
there's alway gotta be that one person... 😉🤣
