02:37 Remove the sponges from the cartridge and try not to contaminate it

This method only works in cartridges that contain a built-in print head.
If the cartridge cannot be reset and errors persist, then there is a chance
that the copper contacts on the cartridge printhead circuit board have been damaged.
There are pins that can become worn and short against each other,
causing errors and preventing further printing.
A close inspection may be necessary to determine if this is causing the problem.

Brilliant, thank you 👍 great video, saved me buying replacements as I didnt realise the top can come off. Plus excellent advice about soaking them as I'd got my printer from a friend who had had it sitting for a while and the soak really cleaned them out, changed water several times. Nice method. I just wouldn't rub the paper towel on the bottom of the ink jets. You can ruin your jets or at least get fiber bits stuck up under there.
When first installing it the printer will ask for permission to update the firmware. If the firmware is updated will this cause the printer to refuse printing after the cartridge is refilled ?

My printer was working the color was off and I ran low on ink the black was filled but says it was out when it was still 75% let it just stopped working so I bought the cleaner on Amazon and now the color quit working also it says it's empty but it's probably too much in them how can I get them to start working I have filled them 1time and they were new at 5:04 $80

He just taped it back together: it's not like the edges are hermetically sealed. Better not let your full cartridges fall on their side or you will have a mess. I like this method, though. Nice to see what you are doing. I can't figure out why they don't all leak out the bottom when he fills them up with the tops all off and lets them sit there. I am used to old school HPs tho. (no longer an option) New to Canon.

@@greattechnical_AH The printer says that the cartridge is empty so I want to wash the sponge and restore its white colour. The cartridge has never been refilled. Apparently a cartridge is only good for about 4 refills.
Can new sponges be bought or those are not sold. Just thinking after a few times when refilling the sponges might become brittle.
Welcome ,Certainly new sponges can be bought and replaced, and according to my experience the sponge is not consumed after a few times when refilling the sponges with ink .
just peal of the sticker,there should be a hole to add ink.if you open it by prying apart the lid you might damage the triangle clips that hold the cartridge in the printer.if you damage it then it might not fit back into the printer.

But you are talking about a new ink cartridge that is out of ink, and I am talking about an old or abandoned cartridge or the ink in it is dry. I remove the cover so that I can wash or replace the sponge inside the cartridge and wash the cartridge from the inside to open the nozzles. @@greattechnical_AHthe hand drill kills me. It took me all day, literally to do the 3 colors...and i did red wrong. Not easier. And after all those holes the thing jiggles like its weak anyway. I do every craft so this i can handle. .no hand drill ever again.
Just an observation, but, in the title you say this is the fastest way. Can you explain how this is please as in the video you say to soak the cartridges for 6 hours! Yet on other videos and what I have done myself using syringes you can refill a cartridge in mins and without having to soak the cartridges and still acheive the same result but a hell of a lot faster!

يا اخي لقد نفذ الخبر الاسود واول مرة عبئة بالابرة نجحت اما الان لا تنجح مع اني قمت بفتحهم مثلك ووجدتها مملؤة بالخبر لكن الخط غير واضح ارجو منك المساعدة
فتحات الخرطوش ( النوزلات ) مسدودة بالتاكيد ، يجب عليك ان تزيد فترة النقع والتنظيف وفي حال لم تنجح الطريقة هذا يعني ان نوزلات الخرطوشة تالفة ويجب استبدال الخرطوشة .

واذا كنت ترغب باغلاق الخرطوش يمكنك ذلك بكل سهولة بواسطة مادة لاصقة .
