Does look pretty on Arran. Loved the look of the mountain walk. Castle and grounds looked gorgeous. Nice site. Did well spotting the seal. Food’s always nicer outside. Lovely views. That bay with the castle ❤️. Distillery and shop looked fabulous. Nice immersive museum. Aw Roxy 🐶. Arran looked gorgeous as you left on the ferry. Nice trip👍😊🧙‍♂️

Thank you. When you catch it right there’s something magical about Arran, I first went in 2019 following in the footsteps of my aunt and uncle (I had planned to take my aunt I’m around 2015 but sadly it never was to be) as I was fascinated to see why they loved it so much and wasn’t disappointed, it was where the final inspiration for getting a campervan came from too which ultimately led to me ordering one - the video doesn’t do it justice and the weather was a bit variable. But catch it right and it’s something really special and shows it’s magic.
All the best, David & Rachel 👍

A lovely video and very informative. I see we drove in opposite directions around the island. I can’t believe we were just a few pitches from each other for a while at Seal Shore. Thanks for a beautiful share. ATB Sue 😊👍🏻

Thank you - when we went in the car back in 2019 which was our first visit we drove around anti-clockwise - not sure why we went that way this time 😃
Yes, was a shame as it would have been great to say hello, hopefully catch you somewhere else in the future 👍. Nice site Seal Shore isn’t it and we found Arran had a nice feel to it.
Hope you have a good rest of the week, All the best, David & Rachel 👍

Nice to see the west side of the island as we couldn't get to it because they'd closed the road for maintainence!
    Lovely campsite.
That crossing back to the mainland looked very choppy!!!!!
    Cheers

Thank you for your comments Ju. The west side of the island is beautiful and feels a bit more rural.
The campsite is lovely and would highly recommend it. 💕
The ferry crossing was a little choppy but luckily it was only for about 5 mins as we were getting to shore 😳

Love the isle of arran it is so pretty there many happy memories over there and on the clyde coast as victoria and i got married in alloway home of robert burns so is special to us
they say arran is scotland in miniature being a mix of highland and lowland! i love brodick and also lochranza and always worth stopping for a dram at the whisky distillery we like their arran gold which is like baileys
looks like you had a fantastic time! best wishes to you all

Thank you, appreciated and it’s great it brought back memories. I must try some Arran Gold next time we visit - thanks for the tip!
There is something magical about Arran that you can’t normally capture on film, I can understand why they would say Scotland in miniature as it has some of everything doesn’t it,
Have a lovely weekend, all the best, David & Rachel ❤️

Never been to Arran looks lovely though David & Rachel. The site looked good as well, did you see many off grid locations for a stop over. Cheers K.

Hi Karlos, there were lots of off grid locations to go to, especially on the west hand side of the island with the most fabulous views. It’s a lovely place and would highly recommend. All the best, David & Rachel 👍

Some great scenery and great footage of your visit and also brilliant drone shots. Always nice to see Roxy have a paddle and a dig 🤣. The journey back looked choppy from the window but looked fine inside. Thanks

Thanks Tim, it was pretty choppy but only for 5 mins as we went into Ardrossen Harbour, they said they were retracting the stabilisers and it would be a bit more choppy - pleased it wasn’t the whole journey. Some of the dogs got upset in the pet area when it went bouncy (Roxy was fine though). Thanks again, all the best, David & Rachel 👍

Well done David and Rachel, I’ve been up and down the the Clyde estuary but never been on Arran, it looks a lovely spot and great that you can come back to the mainland to Ardrosson and no so far off A74 if you are travelling South. There are plenty of places to visit and did you try any Arran cheese? It’s delicious with a hand made oatcake👍 Cheers Mike🥃🥃

      Hi Mike
The oatcake is delicious with the cheese isn’t it - well reminded 😀 we found it very relaxing and welcoming (In how it felt) and would certainly go back and recommend if that’s the sort of thing you like.
Thank you, have a lovely weekend,
All the best, David & Rachel 👍

What a great Vlog. The drive from Brodick was spectacular. I have to say that the aerial shots are wonderful and David you do a first rate job editing all of your vlogs. #visitarran should be partnering with you. I think you both did such a great job on showing what the island has to offer. I’d like to suggest you visit the Outer Hebrides - Lewis and Harris, they are stunning……ssssshhh tho don’t tell everyone😉

ImI love Arran it’s so beautiful. Don’t tell David but I agree with you about his editing. He always puts lots of effort in to make them the best they can be and he is a zillion times better than I would ever be! (Rachel)
I will look up Lewis and Harris too - there is a problem with Scotland though. It’s just so beautiful with so much to see and do we would need to retire to allow time to do it justice 🤞

Great blog guys, firstly may I ask how much per night was the campsite , secondly may ask if a camp fire allowed if its off the ground, liked and subscribed.

    • @LeisureBit
      @LeisureBit  Рік тому +1

Thank you - most appreciated - if I remember right we paid £25/night for the pitch which included electricity.
It’s a lovely island and campsite! I’m not sure ref fires, I think you could have a bbq if raised off the ground but not sure about fires might be worth checking with them.
Thanks again, all the very best, David & Rachel 👍

Nice video, thank you. I slowed the driving down to half speed but your speech was at half speed too. Did you no circumnaviate the whole island?

    • @LeisureBit
      @LeisureBit  Рік тому

Thanks for the comment - ironically I was going to do a separate video of a drive around the island but didn’t think many people would watch (at normal speed)
All the best, David & Rachel 👍
