In today's episode we are joining our amazing hosts Joshua and his mother Adolfina from Soul Travelling, one of Goa's foremost tour and traveling companies, to indulge in some food experiences from serenity and drop dead surroundings of North Goa's Sinquerim village and the Aguaga Bay.
Our journey began from the Lower Aguada Fort where we met Joshua whose warm smiles and enthusiasm excited us for a wonderful day ahead. He gave us a brief tour of this wonderful fort that makes way for some stunning view of the vast stretch of blue ocean and sky around. Due to such an amazing location and its grand structure, Fort Aguada is one of Goa's popular attractions.
After soaking in the beauty of this part of the Aguada Bay Joshua, without revealing much, we took us to a quaint house in the locality for breakfast. Here we met Mrs. Adolfina who welcomed us and led us to the eating area which was set up on the verandah of the house. To our surprise we came to know that Adolfina was Joshua's mother and it was their house.
With greenery all around, this place was wonderfully serene and calm. Soon we sat down for the humble veg breakfast that Adolfina had prepared for us. There were appam, mushroom xacuti and coconut chutney. The xacuti had such different layers of flavours coming from the coconut and whole spices. While eating, Adolfina shared some interesting historical anecdotes about her family that had also been captured in Gregory Peck and Roger Moore starter Hollywood movie The Sea Wolves.
After finishing the meal we took a siesta and headed to Aguada Bay for a boat ride and angling. Joshua showed us how to use the fishing rod and Adolfina treated us to kokum sharbat and some bangda recheado. It was quite a thrilling experience.
When we returned to the bank, it was time for lunch and Adolfina and Joshua led us to another beautiful ancestral homestay in the neighbourhood where the meal was planned. It was another adorable quaint houses in the locality that deserved a visit. After taking a tour of the property we settled down for very simple yet quintessential lunch. Adolfina had prepared pork vindaloo and katriache pao for us the former is the most sough after Goan dish. The pork was tangy, spicy and sharp and full of flavours. We thoroughly enjoyed it with the pao that soaked up all the greasy curry.
With such dynamic and gracious hosts as company, this tour was both enriching and fascinating.

Hi Abhinav, this is Rakshit and I lived in Goa for 10 years then my family moved to Bhopal. I still have all my childhood memories alive. I really loved this episode and specially Adolfina. Loved the way she explained you everything about Goan culture. Learn some Konkani. All the best
Outsiders speak better Konkani than the locals itself I've came across many 👍

Anubhav is so lucky to have these unique experiences.
Anubhav is a real stoic, just notice his reaction (or complete lack of it) when the lady is telling him about her family history... Awesome foodie though, thoroughly enjoy watching your travelogues.
I am lucky that I am proud goan
This pork will taste more yummy with rice for sure 🤤
That’s two awesome videos in a row from DFW. Life’s good when I see so much selflessness, humility and some lips smacking food of course
Surprisingly my mother! Surprisingly! :) :)
Very nice video showing local food . Love your videos Anubhav.
I am from Assam, but I have to say Goan food is ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
I love the lady in black T-shirt she's so humble and sweet 😊😊
I had been to Goa several times, but only in search of parties, nature, leasure and friends hangout but never saw anything such to experience. Every episode of Goa in your channel is completely new to the youtube community. My next visit will be to complete the things what you have done.
Anubhav, an awesome video. You got probably the best host so far. So much of history telling in the classic storytelling style. The shopping in the end was the icing on the cake. Love you buddy.
Hello Mr. Anubhav I really enjoy watching ur Goan series and thank you for promoting our Goa's food & culture. You always respect each n every culture & tradition.
My god, the lady has complete information
And loved the way she explained in detailed
A very enjoyable video.
There were so many lovely surprises in store....
Mr. Joshua 's introduction to Sinquerim was very interesting to listen to.
Then he took DFW to a beautiful
sequestered house set in lush surroundings..
Who would have suspected that Adolfina who graciously received her guest, served him a breakfast to remember always, and who slowly revealed the history of the house , the circumstances which brought a certain German officer to Sinquerim , who fell in love with a lovely local lady , had 6 children, and one of whom was this lovely hostess. Adolfina.!!!!
Later Adolfina and Joshua took the trouble to take their guest angling. On the boat, she treated him to crisp mackerel and lovely kokum juice thoughtfully
pre -packed by her.
At every point, be it sharing snippets about the food or local lore she proved herself to be an exceptional hostess.
.
The day did not end with that. More enjoyment followed.
Not only did she serve DFW a delicious Pork vindalloo for lunch which was cooked to perfection and eaten with Sannas but she also shared with him the recipe, which makes Vindaloo a much sought after dish.
This video is refreshingly different from the same predictable format that other videos follow.
Joshua and Mrs Aldona need to be specially congratulated for the effort they have put in to make this trip memorable
not only for DFW but for all the viewers.
Thank you ❤
Typical goan house and goan food ..Great ..Sir u rock...U listen to people so nicely ...Just have a nice personality
Wonderful. Before eating the pork we should pray to the lord for his blessings 🙌
Adolfina doing great 👍👍👍
Bahut hi shaandaar i🇮🇳 Jai Bharat vande maataram
Lovely explanation by the lady.... but i HAVE NOT EVER SEEN Anurag so conscious, so silent and so courteous 😹😹😹😹😹😹😹 incredible India
Awestruck Anubhav 😊
The word Vindaloo comes from Portuguese language, which is Vind + alho means Vinegar and Garlic.
I stayed in Sinquerim in 2019. Really a very peaceful place to stay compared to many other places in Goa. This brought back a lot of memories
Our goemkars are truly the world's best host and loving people and we goan called are jolly we always welcome the guest with all big open heart
What an awesome lifestyle in Goa ...... and the pork dish must have been stunning .
Nice 👍🏽 Vlog
Is this first time i see a pork curry dish....i just love the dish. Thank u for sharing.
Anubhav, this was a delightful episode. And I was moved by your graciousness in which you participated in the prayer before the meal. ....exemplary👍🙏
Our Goa is very simple with lovely loving people
Adolfina.. would suggest that you organize food n cultural tours of your beautiful village..I'd be the first to sign up😊
Beautiful video. Hospitality and eagerness to make the history of Goa known is absolutely awesome 👏. As for the food really authentic recipes. Yummy 😋
I live in rural France and as my parents are from Margao, I found it wonderful. Sadly most Goans arent aware of their historical roots. We are definitely an international race, with Mexican, (why chillies were first introduced to India), Africans from Mozambique and Angola, Chinese from Macau and if course Portuguese. This info is so important as there is much discrimination in Goa as in the world..history writers we now know have lied to us all.
Ps we do have one of the most amazing cuisine in the world lol!
I'm a Goan but I'm a 💯 proud Indian before Goan 👍
international race ,r u kidding ? goa has more hindu population(above 60%) than any other religion and most catholics are converted by portuguese.think b4 u speak.
@@sagaronline265 this is not about religion... Its culture they adopted
@@yesssboss2219 u think goan culture is all about portuguese.
@@sagaronline265 who said that?? Its mixed ..... Hindu muslim Christian have thier own cultures in India .... I can answer ur questions if u want to hear ...
This is a great episode....food, scenic beauty, history and myths

Most welcome in chhatisgarh
Sir you are the best food vlogger
Fantastic coverage ☺️
8:05 me being a Hindu Goan I disagree. They do use ginger garlic but they do no use Vinegar.
Why is there no contact of the host? Would have loved to have a meal at this place
The origin of the name/dish is Portuguese and is written = Vinha d'Alhos. The name used in Goa is Pork Vindalho and not Vindaloo.
Did you catch any fish? I recently saw 'The Sea Wolves'. Nice movie.
i am feeling that iam in gova
Nice story mam
