The Forgotten Lands, Hidden Hot Springs and Wild Horses. Destination Adventure

- Sometimes the greatest adventures are the ones without a plan. Of course I leave with a rough plan, or at the very least a destination, but a slot of completely free time in between leads to the option to jump on any opportunity presented along the way. This week, that paid off perfectly. We are heading into the Chilcotin, to complete a route that we attempted last year, but couldn't complete due to a washout. From Williams Lake, there are many loop routes within the Chilcotin, each passing though some absolutely gorgeous territory and history. Most of my life, I imagined the Chilcotin to be little more than grassland, but the terrain is incredibly divers, and the wildlife is abundant. This trip brought to me some amazing experiences with wild and free range horses, old homesteads, friendly locals and of course one amazing view after the next.
It is important to educate yourself on the route you plan in the grasslands, because camp spots are limited due to the slow regrowth of the terrain. I was welcomed into each community, and had nice conversations with each person I had the pleasure to talk with, but respecting the land is incredibly important.
It is important to understand and respect culture as well. I had the pleasure of visiting some incredibly beautiful hot springs on this trip, but these locations are often of historically cultural significance. And for that reason, permission is required to access. I am very fortunate to have gotten the opportunity to enjoy so many miles of beautiful country in this trip, and I truly hope you all enjoy it with me.

I don't know if youtube has awards for video production but you absolutely deserve to win some. Such a beautiful "backyard" you get to travel and explore.
Thank you.
Definitely agree
"A little bit of lubrication never hurts when you're dealing with an old gal like this" What a way to start a video!
Love your stuff, Dustin! You're a hidden gem of UA-cam.
Agree. Im more of a 2 stroke oil in the tank kind of guy
I had a 98 12 valve, great truck! Now have a 15 24 valve, love the power and torque! Love the Dodge Ram Cummins diesels!
Thanks for sharing your Chilcotin adventure…..Love my home province.
I has a Burmese 2.75 piston triangular with 12 1/2 valve tubular pushrod slant 7 with 2 speed forward 5 speed reverse with neutral between each clutch push. Before ya pilot it ya better give a shit cuz otherwise you'll have T-Bone steak for lunch tomorrow. Don't forget to check the air pressure in your shoes. Lockjaw is like a beach.
I knew some truckers who when they changed the fuel filters they would fill the new ones up with atf. They would put the new on, start the motor and floor it. Smoked like hell for about 5 minutes or so and then cleared up. They said it was a good way to clean the injectors.
Thank you, I have been lost in my anxiety since my doctor's appointment for a cancer check-up. It has me a bit nervous Positive distraction and a beautiful adventure, please. 💖 🙏💝
I'll be thinking bout ya and hoping your cancer free.
don't sweat it you got this.. here's for hoping that you are not only free but also that your cancer free
I hope you have some amazing support and love and care. F*ck Cancer! Fight fight fight.
🙏🏼Praying for you.
Wild horses baby, wild horses
Dustin, you are my First Choice on UA-cam . Your Intelligence, language skills and amazing attention to detail are phenomenal. I’ve learned so much from your videos and I’m always looking forward to seeing your productions . They’re mesmerizing and your Music choices are perfect for all ages. Yes, it’s a grandma here, LOVING this!
Very much appreciated, thank you. 😊
Its a rainy saturday morning here in TX, so that means playing musical chairs with the rain and letting animals in and out for potty breaks all day. But it also means another great coffe time with Dustin. I absolutely loved this video Dustin. The horses, music, scenery, and of course your great humor. I know for myself i cant thank you enough for doing these. They truly do mean so much, to so many.
Thank you for enjoying 😊
Yeah I found this dude when I was deep diving 12 valve Cummins before I bought my 12 valve daully a couple weeks ago. I’m watching UA-cam today too while it’s raing in Austin and my 12 valve is parked in the driveway covered with a tarp and the engine is torn apart fixing the Killer Dowel Pin haha…. my girlfriend is pissed about the garage being full of diesel radiators and intercoolers haha
@designfabrication512 you must go back and watch all of Dustin, top 3 channels for sure. I have a 2015 Jeep Patriot Sport and a 1987 Chevy G20 but must be honest the build series videos had me glued. I learned so much, probably won't use most of it but I loved it all just the same. Enjoy your build, and howdy from Dallas.
The dedication to the shot is real.
🍻
That horse running down the hill was just showing you the true meaning of "horse power"! Thanks for this awesome start to the summer season.
Are we not going to discuss that drone shot through the power lines? 😱 COME ON, MAN!!! 😳 That was next-level!!!! 🫡
Am I an idiot in not understanding how he drives and flys all at the same time and doesn't run it into everything?
@@d_rock_t No doubt! It must be some form of Canadian wizardry.
Up until a few years ago, before I found your channel, I thought I'd explored the Cariboo and Chilcotin fairly extensively. You quickly dissuaded me of that thought, showing me parts of my Province I never dreamed of seeing. And you carry on...Thank you, thank you, thank you.
Me too . Did not know of that 'warm spring ' . It looked very peaceful and kinda spiritual. Glad to be on the road with you. Thx.
British Columbia, the envy of the whole world!
Anyone else follow along these adventures on Google earth whilst watching? Or am I just dull like that?😆
The best show on any network I’m positive after watching all your videos your fate wasn’t on a cruise ship
Superb start to the new season! I loved seeing the horses, wild or otherwise, the cows, the hint of Booboo - glad the bear did not catch you with your pants down, and the sights most if us will never see. That hotspring/spring ... Simply beautiful. Thank you, Dustin. I am excited for another season with Destination Adventure.
Saturday morning my cup of coffee & DA...what could be better😊
You never disappoint Dustin!!! It makes me really happy to see your notifications pop up!! I appreciate your hard work putting all this together.
If anything, your honest! and teaching people what integrity and honor looks like.
That’s very nice, thank you.
Awesome vid I wish I could travel to places like Thea’s I’m in Australia so i can’t go until I’m older but for now I’m going to explore my own places thanks for inspiring me.
Thanks Dustin, I'm sitting on my couch and I'm positive there are ticks crawling all over me. Haven't seen them yet, but I feel them!!!!
Yet another masterpiece, thank you Dustin.
😊
Epic adventure as always Dustin! You have a knack for consistently leaving me in awe with the your talent and your passion for adventure! Thank you for letting us tag along!❤
Thank you very much. 😊
Dustin thank you for showing me places that I will never get to see. So beautifully done videos, entertaining and the views are out of this world. Can't wait each week for another video from you! Thanks again!
I super appreciate the peek at the map. Puts the destination in the adventure.
You are an amazing artist, Dustin. Phenomenal images, all the way through. I appreciate your hard work.
Thank you very much 😊
Thanks for another wonderful video just amazing!!
Wow, great photography….you have some real serious camera talent. It’s much appreciated. Hope the money guys discover you.
@ 15:21 that sand bar to the right is where we camp everytime we are through that area . Its a great beach to unwind before heading up into Churn Creek area. Love the content bro , hope to see you up there sometime !
I like your music choices as much as your videos...
The horses are thinking that drone is the biggest mosquito they ever seen! LOL
Or the biggest horse-fly...
Ive been following you for close to a year now and you just keep getting better!! My cousin lives in B.C. He's a dual citizenship kind of fella. LOL!! Maybe some day you'll run into him and his wife.
Keep up the great work!!
As always videography ten out of ten. Watching from Panama City Florida,USA. 🇺🇸🦅
Thank you
Thanks for a beautiful ride to start the season Dustin ! Cheers 👊😎👍
OMG! That bridge would freak me out!🤢
Another awesome video. Thank You so very much for sharing this with me
Love the clip juat before the hill climb 6:50 " Pulling a Mick " hanging out the window, cracked me up . Another amazing few days in the wilderness Canadia awesome.
Getting back into the routine of waking up before 8 o’clock eastern time
It's when legends rise 😊
Here in Ontario we face the same tick problem. I have found that spraying my outdoor clothes in Permithrin ( spelling may be wrong) sold here at the Army Surplus Store works fantastic and its good for several washes. Keep up the great videos.
Can you get that in Canada? Or order it online?
@@kathyreap3491 I buy it on Ontario. Its. In a spay can, I am not sure they would ship.
@@kathyreap3491 The stuff in the stores is the same as they sell in any farm kind of store. Farm stores tend to have better prices. Works a charm on ticks and skeeters. If you have a cat don't let them mess with it though.
Careful with that spray. If you have cats, keep them away.
Stuff is fatal for them. Otherwise, it's definitely a good solution for bug prevention.
Thanks for sharing your backyard with us.😊
Such stunning scenery and animals. Thanks so much for taking us with you on your adventures 👍
Your show is fantastic. I've said it before and I'll say it again. Your show is so well shot and edited that it surpasses most of what is on television and youtube. I'm shocked that you don't have 2 million subs! Love the show. I hope to run into you out on the road. Thank you.
I appreciate that, thank you. I’ll get there some day 😊
Adventure Time!!!!!!!!!
You started talking about ticks and I saw the the black earing and thought...OMG there is one on yer ear!! LOL!
When you were first going to get in the spring your bike was on the ground!
Great video, love hearing the ol’ 12 valve chugging a long
Thank you!! Absolutely stunning views! ❤❤❤❤
Stellar video Dustin! Beautiful camera work and editing as always. Loved the shots of the Fraser river. You ever heard of Dan Hurd? He has a rockhounding channel Dan Hurd prospecting and does a lot of things in and around the Fraser. He has some mining claims and might be able to get you on the track of some new spots to check out.
Dustin, your stuff is inspiring! Not to mention super relaxing. Thanks for bringing us along for the adventures! I really also like the local music content and shout outs to the artists at the end of every video. They usually find there way into my Spotify rotation!
Thanks again Dustin for another awesome trip.
You literally stop and smell the roses, be it wildflowers or cattle it’s just fresh crisp air.
Awesome trip Dustin! Beautiful country. So glad whatever you heard in the woods didn't give you any trouble. Take care!
Yes!! Another beautiful day of getting to live vicariously through Dustin! Wow, love the wild horses encounter. And thanks for exploring the spring, that was a cool find. If you ever travel to Michigan's Upper Peninsula, a must- see is our Big Spring, Kitch-iti-kipi, in Manistique. Its not as serene and peaceful, as is so loved here, but you would love it. Thanks Dustin, safe travels.❤
Dude I love your selections of songs. I have looked several up and now a fan of the Dirty Guv’nahs👍🏼👍🏼
Thanks again for sharing Canada with us, great "roadside" attractions to spice up the wondrous views, lakes, river, bridge... videography is top notch keeping my attention every second! Hilarious dip in the warm springs - makes me miss the hot springs along the rocky mountains growing up in Utah and Idaho. WILD horsies too ;>) they're such curious beauties.
thanks for taking us along with you ,, enjoy watch all that you show us ,, bc is a very great place to go around and look at things ... keep them coming
I spent many years in the Cariboo and Chilcotin region. Camping and fishing and exploring. Personal bad memories tainted the rugged, amazing beauty and history of this area. After traveling with Destination Adventure, I now for the first time after 20 years want to return to this amazing part of the Province. Thank you Dustin for sharing your amazing creative talent, you change peoples lives. Spilled box of chocolates 💕
Well my heart skipped a beat at the 3:43 mark when the drone went between 2 wires. Nice flying! Then a double take as you were getting into the spring, swimsuit almost skin color so well almost looked like you were going in commando LOL.
Hey, thank you Dustin for taking all of us on your adventure. You are fortunate to have a backyard in Chilcotin. Few people have been to your part of the world. It's not jus RAD, its AWESOME.
Very cool little hot spring. Thanks,it was a very beautiful ride enjoyed.
As someone who can't go on these epic adventures, thank you for bringing your backyard into my home. Much love and safe travels from Atlanta, Georgia!
Very happy to share 😊
Dustin that hot spring was EPIC! Imagine that you are one of the few people, that will ever experience it. Perfect little hot spring that you only read about normally. Keep on keeping on amigo!
Much harder to find than expected too.
@@Destination_Adventure Lewis and Clark would be proud ;D
No towel…you know who it was…your buddy! You know, the guy that drinks your beer!
Another great adventure, Dustin. Thanks for taking us along for the ride. You have a beautiful Country. From an old girl in Australia.
That would be awesome riding with horses Deadly such a surreal experiance ;)
🔊🖥🔊🎶
3'44" drone flies between power lines. Already impressed. Will watch the rest when I've come down from that buzz.
This was such a beautiful adventure! I'm so jealous! You're living my dream & that's something amazing you'll forever hold on to. Your videos are always a big "go to" for me. The music makes it even better. Thank you for sharing❤
Thank you
Excellent orchestration of scenic views, music and commentary! I especially love the drone chaser shots of the rig. Another hidden gem with the warm spring, too.
This video makes me miss home. Used to live out west and I co own property in the big bar area. Used to drive only backroads from riske creek to my cabin. I miss those views of the Fraser River ❤
Amazing once again Dustin, looking forward to the next one 👍👍
❤❤❤❤absolutely the best UA-cam out of BC
Always enjoy the back yard….😊
"Not much of a heights guy" he sez , you coulda fooled me ! All those crazy cliff hangar and ridge roads you do ? Thanks for another great video as always...
Another Saturday morning on Van Isl and coffee with Dustin 😊
Thanks Dustin, a beautiful little trip. British Columbia is just stunning, who could ever tire of that scenery? Beautifully shot too x
Nice Dustin!! Love sneaky hot spring side trips.
This really checks all the boxes for what you do best, production, soundtrack, so good! Thanks for sharing!
💝💝💝💝 From Angele: Your video production is out of this world! What lovely shots! My husband and I both enjoyed this story with its images......and of course, your humour. Thank you for sharing!!! 💝💝💝💝
Thank you very much. 😊
Absolutely love to follow your adventures...seriously. I'm glad you mention the name of places etc as I check and follow on the map to see where you are :) Nothing like travelling light while you do all the "work" ;) See you on the next one.
Wow so beautiful out there. Looks so peaceful... Great video Dustin. I could live there. And the music is awesome.
Your videos are the best and your sense of humour always makes me laugh, thank you for sharing your adventures 😊
I appreciate that, thank you. 😊
Great video. It was a trip down memory lane for me, haven't been out that way since the early seventies. We didn't have drones in those days, seeing yours in action is a great addition. I look forward to your videos, keep 'm comin'!! Appreciate your work putting the videos together. Cheers
Fabulous!!! All I can say thank you Dustin!!
Dustin every video just blows me away tat much better. you are so creative. I can imagine how getting this type of footage takes time. Thank you for sharing with us how you see the world.
Thank you 😊
Absolutely loved your definition of a bridle. Noticed you’re getting a little thin on top, welcome to my world. We love you Dustin! Take care.
Halter , but close enough.
@@lhollybow sorry, never had horses growing up just pigs, chickens and cattle. My father said all horses do is eat. Wouldn’t let us have one.
Naahhh! That red pull switch on your shifter is non else but a Mad Max switch to engage your engine Blower!
Woah Woah there bud....the red button isn't and ejection seat?! Well damn, must be an emergency burrito knob😂❤. Thanks for taking us along mate
Hubby and we’re howling at you paddling in the hot spring! Love your work Dustin, long time watcher from Sarina qld Australia 🙌🏼
I keep my chain saw small, mix bottles for one shotters for my 12 valve. If you don’t have ATF handy, mix oil works really well also. Sure quiets that injection pump and it does seem to boost the cetane level as well.
Nicely done, as always Dustin. Thanks for bringing us along.
Risky business flying that drone through thouse lines twice! ( just rip it buds) 😮 pro pilot or what! It's the little things 😂 great video as always!
Dustin, the modern Chilcotan cowboy.
It shows what a great mechanic you and your dad are. It was a beautiful spot. I was looking for bears. 🐻
Pretty cool to see the horses like that.
Your photography and camera work is so beautiful!!!.. Thank you!
I appreciate that, thank you.
Thats the best part of our beautiful province Dustin all the hiddem gems out in the bush. Taking my kid on our 1st backcountry trip tomorrow hoping he enjoys it 🤘
On the road again!!.... thanks Dustin for another awesome trip!!
you have a beautiful Country.
greetsz from holland...max...
Great video, I always tell my friends that you’re the only adventure person that ever makes me laugh. And a small thing- thank you for looking into the camera lens, so many UA-camrs look at the screen and watch themselves as opposed to engage the audience.
🍻
Ahh yes, my Saturday morning is complete! I love reading all the comments from all you other lovlies enjoying your morning coffee and a little DA 🤙
Dustin I had a thought about your comment regarding the stairs of the old farmhouse that access the top floor, could it be that during winter the snow depth could make using the ground floor entrance a challenge so they built a secondary entrance to the top floor? Anyway, thanks fo another great vid!
Thanks for journey into the back
country! That hot springs was very
"eye opening !"to say the least!😅
Cheers,Sandy&Andy
Some absolutely beautiful drone work in this one Dustin, and nice flying through the power lines 3:40. Another epic episode 😊
Very cool hotspring! That seems so exotic, nothing like that here.
Deadly tunes on this one! 🤙🤙🤙 Man that spring looks beautiful. Hopefully get to visit one day!
I wish I had saw your reply about the moho sooner. But I wouldn't have been able to afford it anyway. Thanks for the reply. Love all the video as always. Thanks Dustin.
I've been away for awhile, happy to see that there is still room for me in the Dodge. Thanks for the new adventure and the ride.
