  • The Suez Canal, a vital artery of global trade, is facing an unprecedented crisis. Once responsible for moving $1 trillion worth of goods annually, this historic waterway now battles missile strikes, plummeting revenues, and rerouted ships. As the canal struggles to maintain its dominance, ambitious alternatives like Israel’s Ben-Gurion Canal, Iraq’s New Silk Road, and Russia’s Northern Sea Route are racing to take its place.
In this video, we dive deep into the crises threatening the Suez Canal, its rich history, and the bold megaprojects competing to reshape the future of global trade. Can the Suez fight back, or are we witnessing the rise of a new trade route king?

If the Suez Canal can’t keep up, which of these alternatives do you think has the best shot at taking over-Ben-Gurion Canal, Northern Sea Route, Iraq’s New Silk Road, or something else?

No route is taking over! The global trades are increasing so much that all can have a share of the cake.

An unanticipated possibility because of short sightedness.
Manufacturing relocation around the world because of economic circumstances.
With modern technology about to displace cheap labor around the world with highly efficient cheap automation, robotics and AI, the only thing that will need transport is raw natural resources. The UNITED STATES actually has a huge abundance and South America is close behind in such resources.
The vast majority of international trade may soon come to a screeching uh, slow down.
Countries like China who have become highly dependent on exports are in trouble. Those dependent on imports will soon find relief as most can become self sufficient.

The 22 miles at the south end of the canal which allows only one way traffic at a time is a major bottle neck. Widening this section would speed ship transits.

Well aware that the Statue of Liberty was originally and Egyptian icon.
Which explains the Robes garb instead of a cowboy shirt and bluejeans.👁👁

The Ben Gurion canal would not solve the Houthi problem.
And any slution including offloading containers, transporting them via rail and loading them on ships again is inefficient,
Just consider the capacity of the biggest container ships today, about 25.000 TEU.
That would require 500 trains with 50 cars to transport the load of 1!! ship

Carrying the legacy of a genocide, including countless buildings blown up in the path of the future Ben Gurion Canal, it would carry a gruesome heritage that would follow it to the end of its days. Not only that, but the history of the land of the birth of Jesus is really more important for Christians, given the options for the canal.

Has anyone thought that our global weather might have changed because of the canal

    • @zbeasty

Has anyone thought that global weather changes regardless of what we do? There have been 5 ice ages in the last 500,000 years, well before current, allegedly human induced, warming. Yes humans have sped up the cycle since the industrial revolution but there is nothing we can do to stop it.

The last few years the planet's average temperature has been higher than it has ever been in human history.
I wonder what political axe you have to try to claim otherwise, especially when you should be aware that everyone will know that your claim is nonsense.
