  • What has happened to Claire and Clive’s Easi-fit e-bike kits website, the site says under maintenance ?
    Their UA-cam channel is still up but no videos or contact details available ?
    The Facebook page has gone !
    This is not the way to run a business , for anyone who has recently bought one they will have no after sales service.
    Which is a shocker as they advertised a 30 day money back policy on their website .
    I have searched online and at Companies house you do find the owner of the company and they are still showing as active , although their latest accounts are due ?
    Tip - It’s not under the business name if you do run a search.

    ** I contacted the e-bike kit supplier directly and they have told me that Easi-bike kit have “Ceased Trading” **

    So I would suggest you contact LVBU directly at help@lvbu.tech if you are having issues with your kit, I’m sure they will try and help out.

    It's a real shame, I have the same kit and took mine on a long bike tour yesterday of over 90km and up and down hills. Had it set in 'Climb' mode so it only assists me up the hills. Great bit of kit.

    • @lukerider
      @lukerider 11 місяців тому

      @@davesolobiker5601 Yes, to be honest an ebike's range is very subjective. It all depends on how much you use the electrical assist. You could ride with it switched off for 20 miles and then use the assist for another 30 miles, your range is effectively '50 miles'. They are very clever bits of kit that can be used heavily or used lightly and therefore you can get some huge variation in 'range' capability.

    Nice one Dave! I too bought the kit from Clive 2 or 3 years ago with a spare battery and have had hours of endless fun riding around South Oxfordshire and being able to tackle the steep Chiltern hills. I think there has been a massive development in the past 3 years and post Covid the E bike technology has come on leaps and bounds and we were at the forefront of it and (Clive bless him) got swept along and I imagine was eventually overwhelmed with demand and couldn’t keep up. Should have gone on “Dragons Den” and got Deborah to invest 😂😂.
    I still use my bike successfully on a daily basis including the temperamental cut out but I think also, like many products coming out of China, the final quality checks weren’t in place so it was a lottery you got everything working to a standard. I look forward to watching your adventures and reviews of your new machine, all the best Keep up the peddling 🚲 Rog, South Oxfordshire..

    Hi Dave ... thanks for this video ... yes they must have stopped trading and as you say if Clive had posted something to inform us all then people like me, you and many others wouldn't have felt so bitter ... I have enjoyed using my kit but have had problems with the blue tooth connection and the app (because of the hap hazard connection I've never used it). As I previously mentioned to you on another of your vids I had a wheel 'shudder' one time and luckily when the app was working I did a 'wheel reset' and it sorted it out. However because all I am getting now is 'please connect your vehicle first' message (any idea how to do that?) when I open it up I can't access it at all. I've decided to treat myself and go full blown e-bike and I'm expecting delivery tomorrow. It's a fat tyre bike and weighs a ton but a mate of mine owns one and I tried it yesterday. It's UK legal so that's good news but I must be honest it's like riding a motorbike! The pedal assist kicks in immediately and going up really steep hills is a doddle so weight aside I'm looking forward to owing a 'beast'. The problem I have now is that do I sell my current bike (GT Avalanche Comp) as a converted E-bike or do I take it back to a pedal bike. If I do sell as a conversion I will have to inform any potential buyer about the app problem and if they encounter a wheel shudder they won't be able to correct it. I have a mate calling over to help me put the new bike together and he's a computer whizz so we are going to see if we can get the app to work. I downloaded a new app which wasn't Easi-Fit but it's exactly the same and I noticed in this video the logo of the new (but same) app is on one of your boxes (battery by the looks of it) and this was not the app that I had when I first purchased the bike it was Easi-Fit's app. Anyway whatever has happened Clive was very helpful at first and the last communication I had with him was a good few months back when I purchased two tyres as my regular tyres wouldn't fit ( another problem that people complained about were the wheel sizes not being exactly the right size and some people were getting blow outs which was dangerous). Apologies for the long post but I just want people to be aware of the problems I've had with the kit. Thanks once again and happy cycling! ... Phil.

      I hope the new bike does the trick and you have many happy miles on it, regarding the wheel size I changed my rim after hearing about the blowouts. You don’t want a front wheel blowing at speed !
      I think a lot of these apps are all the same just under different names but clearly don’t rectify your issues .
      hope your mate has better luck with your old kit and app atb Dave

    Hi Dave. Only just found out that Easifit have gone. Annoyingly I had filmed another video giving an update on how it was going and describing the new kit it is at the editing stage but I don't think it's worth completing it now. I have to admit I am not surprised that this has happened, I always felt they were out of their depth so to speak especially so when My wife's tyre blew of those undersized rims, they did not understand how dangerous a front wheel failure could be or how they could be held responsible if someone was injured due to the dodgy wheel throwing a rider off.

    • @davesolobiker5601
      @davesolobiker5601  8 місяців тому +1

      Yeah it’s a shame but this kit had potential but only if they could sort problems like the rim sizing . After seeing your video I replaced my rim for the correct size , a front wheel blow out at speed would be catastrophic !!
      I’ve sold the kit on as I have a bought a dedicated e-bike.

    Hi Dave .. I just want your opinion on something if that's ok ... I put the Easi-Fit kit on my Gt Avalanche Comp 2018 model and because I now have an ebike I need to sell it... my mate called today and he managed to get the app working again but not long after he left it failed again ... so the problem I have is should I take off the kit and sell my GT as a pedal bike or leave the kit on and sell as a conversion kit that has problems? ... I will obviously put in my advert about the app but that may put people off ... if I try and sell the kit or as as 'spares' do you think it would sell? ... everything works fine apart from the bloody app and the useless bluetooth connection ... or should I just cut my losses and sell the bike as a pedal bike and dump the kit? ... Just want to know your opinion that's all thanks.

      They arent very good up steep hills, a lack of torque and if you drop below 5mph is basically doesnt do anything. Youll notice it really works well at mid to high spinning speeds of the wheel. A middrive ebike doesnt suffer this issue hence why they are preffered. I like my kit but im wanting something more for the steep hills on my commute.
