      @Anthony Kelly yes I bought one it’s fine on back wheel, but it won’t fit on my ebike rim as it’s too thick !yep same here 😂 apart from that it’s fine

    I have had this kit for two years now. It's still going strong. Looks like Easifit are now no longer trading. FB, website have gone!..Also there's a few bad reviews on line

    I saw the video @Scrimperuk posted of fitting one of these kits to his wife's bike. Although he had problems with a rim ,it seemed a decent kit so I bought one.
    Firstly let me say Clive and Claire are very helpful but in the end I wasn't able to fit the kit as the motor in the wheel was stopping the axle fitting into the drop out of the fork. It's an old mountain bike with a solid fork that has very thick legs so it's a bit different to most bikes.
    Easifit bikes arranged collection and refunded the money very quickly.
    I was very disappointed that it didn't fit my bike but I think I was just unlucky.

      Yes I agree Clive and Clare are very helpful indeed , it sounds like you have been unlucky with the wheel not fitting . it’s a great kit for turning your bike into an e-bike reasonably cheap.

    Hi Dave, Glad you got the new rim fitted ok, you can be confident now that you won't have any problems with the loose fitting tyres. We have had the same rim in use on the easifit kit since Sept 2021 and it has been perfect. You mention you don't use the bluetooth controllers? are you using the phone or just the throttle to control the motor? John.

    • @davesolobiker5601
      @davesolobiker5601 2 роки тому +1

      Thanks John , yes all good so far and the tyre now fits as it should and not a loose fit . I just work it from iPhone as it saves clutter on the bars . I just set it to around 50/60% pedal assist as it’s on a mtb with big tyres on . I just pedal and go lol atb Dave

      My wife uses the Bluetooth control but does find the buttons awkward with glove on. Yesterday we did 32 hilly miles half with a head wind and she still had 3 bars left in the battery. A lot of the time its only on 10 or 20%.

    I wasn't satisfied with having to spread the forks to fit the wheel. The issue I had was the bike I converted used the old IS fitting for the brake calipers and the caliper fouled the spokes. (No sideways adjustment available) Light bulb moment I converted to a 203 mm disc using a Shimano brake adapter. This moves the caliper out further away from the spokes and means the forks aren't spread. Job done. The other thing I wasn't keen on was the motor running on momentarily after stopping pedalling. This I've resolved by attaching a Bluetooth cadence sensor available from Ultra ebikes which is essentially the same kit just branded differently. Their kit uses the same software too. The difference is subtle but the ride is less on/off.

      Glad you got the brake and fork issue sorted , luckily my canonndale had disks so it was just a few washers to give enough space from the disk bolts clearance to the hub motor.
      Never really noticed the motor running on after stopping pedalling , seems you are on the ball and have that sorted . So hopefully all is good now . 🚴🏻‍♂️👍

    Hi, great video, can I use the throttle to pull away just start off say for a hill start or at a traffic light then continue with pedalling once I’m moving 👍

    • @davesolobiker5601

      @@davesolobiker5601, Many thanks for the reply that's great a gentle start is all I need from a stop just a couple of seconds on the throttle then I can continue with pedal assist, my brother has a Yose rear wheel kit on his bike and it works well on throttle for hill starts

    • @davesolobiker5601
      @davesolobiker5601 2 роки тому

      Thanks , the range depends on variables like weather , how hilly , weight etc but on average I get around 30/35 miles . I just have it set to manual pedal assist around 50/60% higher if really windy, but this eats the battery as you would expect . atb Dave

    I've just got one of these kits. I had the motor turned off and was spinning the front wheel a little to see where it was catching on mudguard, when the motor fired up and nearly trapped my finger in a spoke. I rang the company and the lady said the motor will still fire up even though it is switched at the controller! Can this be right?

    • @davesolobiker5601
      @davesolobiker5601 2 роки тому

      wow that was a close call was it completely turned off ie the red button on the battery to off ? if so that can’t be right surely

    • @ChrisJohnson-pd4hh
      @ChrisJohnson-pd4hh 2 роки тому +1

      @@davesolobiker5601 Yes it was completely off. The new kits don't have that red button, but a recessed button you switch on and off with a pin like thing. You don't have to switch the battery off each time you park up. Easifit say just leave it on. The point is it was switched off at the controller. When I turned the controller on, the power level was at zero, e.g. no assist level. I turned the controller on and off a couple of times, then with it switched off spun the wheel and it didn't fire up. This is how it should be. Clive at Easifit suggested I may have switched the controller off with the assist level on, and somehow the battery was remembering it's last instruction. He suggested that, on switching off, I bring the power level down to zero and then turn off. This seems to work but I won't know for sure until I have tried it a few times. Luckily the kit is well within the 30 day return period if the problem persists. Also I am not keen on the way it responds, or should I say doesn't, when I stop pedalling. The motor keeps running on unless you touch the brakes. Easifit don't seem to have an answer to this. I think relying on a wireless connection is not that reliable at all.

    • @davesolobiker5601
      @davesolobiker5601 2 роки тому

      ah I see , doesn’t seem like a good idea removing the red button . It seems the new kit is not for the better then , as I have no issues apart from the odd cut out from the motor when cycling along on the old kit.
