I love watching the crowd and the soldiers getting into it
I was at the front in a crowd of 1.6M & a great time was had by all. Of course my family had reported me missing when i managed to get home 8 months later. Lol
I'm sure it took at least 2 months just to get back to your car after this show!
@@MatandChelsReact Nah, someone had stolen it.😆
You were lucky - I spent 3 years in a Siberian salt mine after the gig !!!
@@brandydynamite5877 Hello Mr "HARUNA" Lovebites. Jeez was it you who stole my car then? Lol
@@GaryHolloway-810 it seems like it😂😂
From this very same concert, Creeping Death is even better. Just imagine 1,6mil Russians chanting DIE!
We'll have to check that out. That number blows us away!
Don't have to, shout still reverberates in Gdansk n Berlin
With Jason!!
i guess im randomly asking but does anybody know of a trick to get back into an Instagram account..?
I was dumb lost my account password. I appreciate any assistance you can offer me!
@Wesley Jesiah Instablaster ;)
Creeping Death and Harvester of sorrow from same Concert are a must..
Привет из МОСКВЫ!!! I wish they were at yesterdays rally !!!Metallica the fire !!! СПАСИБОО! Концерт был бесплатный, на него сходило почти 10000000 ! Мне было 16 лет меня родители не пустили...это было нечто, МОСКВА на ушах стояла!
1.6 million people at that show, also they start every show with the tune at the beginning if you didn’t know. If you haven’t seen it Pantera - Domination from the same show Is great also.
Honestly, other than Walk, we don't know Pantera...
You should really really check it out, its one of the most headbangable songs of all time and dimebag darrel is hands down one of the best guitarists of all time
Also, my top 3 Metallica would be Ride the Lighting, King Nothing, and For Whom the Bell Tolls
Crazy as it may seem I was a fan of Damageplan but never got into Pantera. Also after recording I thought about it and have to say my 3rd is Creeping Death over Battery.
@@MatandChelsReact my dad got me into them when i was young, I think if you revisited them now you would be surprised... domination, floods, cemetery gates for examine
I was 13 when this concert took place... and I was 9 when "Never Gonna Give You Up" came out. I love gettin rick-rolled ! lmao. Cool reaction !
Metallica - Creeping Death and Pantera - Domination from this same concert is a must for you guys! You can also check Metallica - Battery (live in Seattle 1989) for one of the most iconic metal performances ever. BTW great reaction guys and keep them reactions coming our way! xD
Yes
When I see this I'm reminded that at that time.. these guys were in their late 20's. Can you image walking out to that crowd... the adrenaline rush would be overwhelming. Then, they pulled it off with a flawless performance.. this might be the best version of this song ever done because they were so pumped but the managed to maintain their cohesion and deliver.
Awesome guys
they stopped counting at 1.6 million. some say people are still just getting home from this
😂
I was there and I am turning 51 now. we were west to the main reverd installation. The ground was shaking like all the time when Pantera played. Like I am not kidding, literal earthquake!!!!!! should be easy 1.5 million people that day
Ehehhe fun video, the full circle got me laughing way more than it sould. I gotta say that both of you react very well when put on the spot :)
As the video goes, I can´t belive you never saw this legendary piece of music history! I really thought that was your April´s Fool prank! They estimate 1 million to 1.3 million people, that´s just insane and never to be repeated again. Try the amazing "Creeping Death" from this same concert, definitely on my top 3 Metallica songs along with Master and Battery. Great video.
Jason was such a credit to Metallica. Followed them since mid 80s here in Ireland. I miss his backing vocals which were epic. To live is to die is my recommendation. My fav instrumental of theirs and is a tribute to bass player Cliff Burton. R.I.P.
You should check out Metallica - Blackened live in Seattle 1989.
The Rick-roll part almost killed me. Nice one. 🤣 Good reaction guys .
Rick roll - Metallica - Rick Roll ......what more does one want for a Friday evening (here in the UK at least).....reactions brilliant as always.....thanks :-) :-)
1.6 millions and they still counting until today 😅
(It was a free live made on an airfield)
1.6 million is the number of people officially at that show ..not at one specific time
creeping death at this same concert is insane too, you should check that out next
Dammit! Rick rolled, say it ain’t so🤣🤣
Whaaaat? Never gonna give...LOL That just made my day thx :)
We have become full circle......LOL....Made my day. Thx guys :)
I saw Macatica live in 1986. With Burt. Bout month or 2 before he died...
What a crowd.... By the way u wear a nice shirt bro
A friend of mine has the laserdisc with the full concert. im so f***ing jealous!!!!
Battery was the first Metallica song I heard! I was hooked after that!
Was lucky to be there. Great memories...
My favorite top 3 "Welcome Home Sanitarium ", "Seek and Destroy ", and "Orion."
As a late-in-life fan I saw some kind of monster. Saint anger is the result of all of that pain and therapy and fighting ....and healing. It needed to be done.
The helicopters were used to keep the crowd from overheating. All 1.6 million fans. The towers in the crowd are speaker towers. I'm getting old lol
This is one of those concerts I would go back in time to see :) 🤘 Pantera did amazing at this show too!
hell yes
Pantera - Domination from that same concert! F*ucking insane
Simply GOAT!
Creeping death from the same concert
...and Harvester of sorrow and Fade to black 🤘
1.6 million people!!
I must say what a great reaction, but the people who have said the crowd was 1 million got it wrong there were actually 1.6 million ( 1.600.000 ) at the gig that day . the biggest crowd EVER at any concert to date and apparently it was FREE !!!!
Type in Google Jean Michel Jarre 1997 Moscow. There were 3.5 million and it was just him. In 1991 there was more than one Metallica. There was a festival and many worthy teams came.
Jason is an icon of metallica
I totally agree.
Check out “Creeping Death” from this same concert. It’s even better
I saw them live with avenge sevenfold it was awesome
You had me😂😂😂😂
These are the boys our mama's warned us about and we couldn't wait to get out hands on!!!!🤘🎵🎼🎶🎤🎸🎧🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
1.6 Million people....and this is only 3rd on the all time list of crowds at an open air concert. #1 is Rod Stewart at Copacabana Beach in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil with a crowd of 3.5 Million in 1994. #2 was Jean Michel Jarre in 1997 also in Russia, like that Metallica show, with 3.5 Million.
Actually, they don't know how many people. They stopped officially counting at 500,000 and estimated 1.6 million but the concert drew up to 2.8 million so the actual number is unknown. Some people say this portion of the concert was only 500,000 but I think they mean the official count, others say it was well over 2M. All I know is the people at the back were well over 2 miles away... boggling.
Rick Astley had me on the floor already! ^^
😀
Master of Puppets 2019 Manchester England. Performed in pouring rain.
This is epik!!.. 😅 😎 🤘 🤘 ❤️
1.5 MILLION AT TOSHINO AIRFIELD IN MOSCOW.
Тушино, был на поле, стоял слева от сцены.
Metallica enter sandman
There's a video of James talking about it on the Joe Rogan podcast
You should check “disposable heroes “ from Mexico City!!!!
Oh, you know... Metallica, AC/DC, The Black Crowes, Pantera, and 1.6 million of their closest friends. Oh, and a good number of very nervous-looking soldiers. 🤘😎🤘
News reds band is called echo brain
At 5:00, a day walking vampire.
The rick-roll got me pretty good, not gonna lie! XD
Funny fact, I did not like Metallica and every other classic metal stuff when I started out, but now I really appreciate the heck out of them. Also Enter Sandman is a classic, but my goto will always be "For Whom The Bell Tolls" because of the frickin awesome intro and the bells.
😂😂😂 For Whom The Bell Tolls is epic!
@@MatandChelsReact Sepcially in the beginning of the netflix movie "Triple Frontier". :D
Please watch Deep Purple Child in Time live 1970...105 mil views...amazing!
that was one of the biggest concerts right after the cold war russian wanted to know more about the western music so they asked some of the US bands to come and the crowd had 1.6 million people to see Metallica, Black Crows, AC DC and Panterra in it and when metallica speaks of it they always said it would be one of the greatest memories they ever had if there wasnt i believe 56 deaths and somewhere like over 200 rapes at that concert and stats like that was the major reason why they close down concerts like woodstock please let me know what you think
lmao Happy April Fools lol
виталика 🕺🤓👍
I liked st anger as well
I was enjoying Rick and his song
Mecatica is my favorite cat band.
1.5 million people

The Thing That Should Not Be
Welcome Home (Sanatorium)
Great picks!
Jason Newsted was in an 80's band Flotsam and Jetsam, pure Thrash
1.6 million russians going nuts on Metallica.
That's insane!
Monsters Of Rock in Moscow 1991 live at the Tushino Airfield, 1.6 Million people before they stopped counting. For 7 hours Civilians defended the the chance for freedom against a military coup armed with Tanks and KGB Special Forces. The loss in Civilian lives was high. In thanks one of the USSR's last acts was to give their people what they wanted. A concert of western music. What they got was one of the greatest in history. 4 Bands, one hell of a show ( Metallic, Pantera, The Black Crows, and AC/DC ). You should do a reaction to the intro/Metallica "Enter Sandman" for 7:15 to 15:15 of this link.- ua-cam.com/video/QvWUtSN0Mgc/v-deo.html Can't find a vid with only the Lars/Kirk interview but Very important to understand why this will Never happen again. Also the riots/on with the show link.- ua-cam.com/video/MW9gS69bRGY/v-deo.html One of my fav live vids of Metallica - For Whom The Bell Tolls Live Seattle 1989 HD - ua-cam.com/video/Zi021mb0AtI/v-deo.html Use headphones!
1.6 Million people before they stopped counting
is just a rumor
RickRolled! to the Max! would've listened to that whole song, tho.
1.5000000 людей супер
St anger was totally my shit when it came out
as a fan i agree with my other brothers same concert creeping death is much much better and seek and destroy
The Soviet Union was Dead. The hard liners launched a coup against Gorbachev... It Failed... So Gorby asked if Russia/USSR could have a concert for the younger generation. AMERICAN ROCK AND ROLL. One could say Rock and Roll stopped the Soviets...
😲
My daughter was rickrolled after me
😂
"Mikael Akerfeldt and his girl react to metal"
#please #react to #Metallica #dyerseve and #Disposibleheroes live in #mexico #2009
Man I miss Jason
Jason couldn't carry Cliff's guitar case
At least 50 people died, many by the Soviet military.
Ok that Rick roll was actually pretty good but it had no effect on me I like the song lol
He said puppet master 😭
I didn’t even catch I said that! Yeah, I had Thy Art Is Murder on the brain at the time. Master of Puppets is what I meant to say. What can you do though? 😂
@@MatandChelsReact haha no hate bro! That was a great reaction! What a crowed I’ve always wanted to meet someone who was there :)
I can only imagine how insane that was!
The Seattle gigs have better production
Hey, you two should react to The Doomstar Requiem. It’s a 45 minute death metal opera from Dethklok. I guess a reaction highlight reel would work best because it’s so long. But it’s so epic and definitely Brendon Small’s masterpiece. It has a 40 piece orchestra conducted by Bear MacCreary and features appearances from Corpsegrinder, Jack Black, Malcolm MacDowell, Mark Hamill. All guitars by Brendon Small, all drums by Gene Hoglan, produced and mixed by Ulrich Wild. It’s so damn good and literally changed my life. Not figuratively, literally.
What a great song. Metallica wasn't bad either, of course. 😁
😄
SIN JASON NO HAY METALLICA !!!.... bueno, no es asi haha, pero jason fue parte importante .
LMAO
😁
St. Anger isn't that bad.... never did understand why its hated so much
I’ve never understood it either.
Newsted's stuff is called lame.
It disheartening that 1991 and Moscow meant nothing to you. It’s one of the biggest liberation eras in history. 😐
Mat was 6 and Chels was 2 so…. But I’m sure everyone remembers important world events at those ages, right? 😆
