I used the waterfall style for years . About a year ago I switched to the up flow style . Both are very effective but in my experience the up flow produced more algae .Plus it's pretty much silent as compared to the splashing of the waterfall style .Good video for those looking to build one though .
Sure it’s the middle chamber where one might have a refugium. My sump is on the smaller side so I basically have it placed in front of my protein skimmer. I hope that helps!
Interesting! I have seen zero effect from this. I do have a 90 gallon tank so it might not feel the effects of this. Have you heard of other tanks having this issue?
@@Tankbruh1 no i haven't im just curious. i do have an order placed same company higher rated one. i'll stop by for sure if it rusts to let you know. i do have a 120g system. i have a similar type that i've been using for water change for over an year. tonite i'm gonna open it up and see if it rusted. :D its a vivosun or something like that
Great work, you might find that the algae can take about a month to really start covering the mesh completely. First 2 weeks you will see almost nothing. Be patient it will grow!
Here is the one month review ua-cam.com/video/dUyZIZhm-_E/v-deo.html the algae scrubber still runs and produces after a year. I don’t run it every day any more as I got my nutrients under better control.

Super interesting! I’m going to need to take a look at that.
Nice, looking forward to the follow up.
UselessReefer ayyy thank you!
@@Tankbruh1 How did you connect the pump?
UselessReefer the pump had an attachment for a 1/2” pipe. So I glued it into the PVC. It fit in there perfect.
congrats on the 500 bud. keep up the good work 👍
Great content. Thanks!
Puff Daddy Reef thanks for support!
Can you explain what section of your sump that is in? Is that your return chamber?

@@Tankbruh1 how is your water level so low that you fit your scrubber in it so well? Usually those chambers have a higher water level.
i contacted kedsun to see if they recommend this pump for saltwater. they don't did you see copper leech?

Richard Portelli good advice! I filmed this about a week ago and you are right. I have some surface growth but nothing heavy yet.
Most of these youtube things can’t be validated. Where is the final product after a year later? Link me.
