My turn first!
Best episode so far 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Many blessings to Windsor and Reef :) what a great episode love it! My therapy for a week.thank you, guys!
its nice to hear Chris again. :) it would be soo cool if i can bring a frag of Jakes coral to France. I have been fortunate to have spoken to him and I practically live 10miles away from where he spent his childwood. One day I will succed
Congratulations Windsor and welcome to the world R.J.A!
Really inspiring how you helped out in a time of need.
Too much to comment! LOL! Great therapy!
Keep Jake's ORIGINAL legacy!
Gardineroseris is not an ugly coral!
Chris has the healthiest/beautiful corals available.
To boost suppressed pH is to make sure it's in the right range, simply!
Love you guys!
Blessings to Windsor and Reef!!!!
Thank you for listening!! ~Remy
thanks for sharing so many stories Chris! another great episode!
Glad you enjoyed it! I can't wait to hear all the stories when visiting the studio again! ~Remy
Many blessings for Windsor and Reef. Thanks to you guys for continuing, really enjoy listening.
Awesome Reef Therapy session. Thanks!
Thanks for listening Tim! ~Remy
Damn! You guy’s are getting all my favorite reefin’ idols! Love it boys, can’t get enough of the podcast🤙
We miss you Mark
Thanks for the love!
This was an absolutely amazing episode of Reef Therapy I love me some Meckley!
My goodness, what an absolutely beautiful & touching episode. Another great tribute to Jake ♥️🪸 Love how intense Chris described the TLC given to Jake’s collection.
@Raj I love the zings #waterchanges 😂 PLEASE add “lifestyle” t-shirts! I just ordered my 4th tank.
Working on some new merch right now!
And you’re definitely a lifestyler with tank #4 😂
I mean, if all of the fish & corals would just behave & get along, I’d only have one. Makes senses, right? 😂 #lifestyle
@@LunaReef whatever we have to tell ourselves to justify the lifestyle! 😂
@@LunaReef suuuuuuuuuure 🤣
Awesome session guys, I enjoy listening while I work on the tanks!
I’d love to see you get it to grow that fast chris lol
I have alot that are good growers but that one’s painfully slow.
HAPPY REEFING!!
Would love to give it a try, and I would be happy to bank some corals we farm with you as well. Hit me up when you are ready
Thanks for sharing that piece with the world! In a couple years it'll spread across the hobby so we can all have a frag to grow! ~Remy
Congratulations Windsor!
🎉
SESSION 69 . . . . oh yeah and we get KALK daddy Chris, this gonna be a good one lol 😂 Cheers Remy, Chris, and walstreet guy.
LOL! As always, thanks for watching and listening!
😂
Great show again. Is there any way I can get in contact with Chris at ACI? I have a coral that looks similar to what he is describing as the manilla spy, but it was sold to me as an anacropora. I would like to get his input.
Of course! Feel free to message ACI Aquaculture on their IG page! ~Remy
Congrats Windsor.
The branching galaxea is insane - would love one - hope they get to Europe
@Remy Is the Turbinaria the same colony from Jake’s 12/2020 article? I picked up frag a few months ago and the guy at the LFS said I always buy the “weird stuff”, lol. The green shimmer on the scrolls and purple polyps are beautiful. I’m gonna go buy the remaining frags before the locals hear this episode 😂
Yes! He's written about it a couple times. Turbinaria heronensis. When I saw it in real life my head kinda turned like a dog. Such a cool looking coral! ~Remy
Agreed. I actually did go scoop up what they had locally. If you’d like, I can share when they start doing their scroll thang 😄
Na zeissi! May he live long and happy (in greek) and all the best to the mother.
Raj, could you share some of those MRC projects/builds somewhere? Even if not through Reef Builders? I’m building an equipment room in my basement and would love some “industrial inspiration”
Yes!
back in the eighties we used wet/dry's. actually I still use a wet dry on my 45 bow front
Chris Meckley looks like Chris Martin from Coldplay. Are you guys related?
I am just like Chris. No water changes unless necessary
Do you dose elements or use a calcium reactor to replace spent elements?
@@RB-Raj wasup Raj! Yea absolutely I dose all for reef , nitrate , and phos. I need more fish in my 6.5 which is why I dose the nitrate and phos. But the tank has been so stable and amazing dosing 1.5 ml of all for reef daily with 0 water changes. I will only water change of there is something wrong. So far all my SPS are doing amazing. If I do a water change the corals start to look like crap and the Dino’s come back. So weird so I said hell with it lol. Been 6 months with 0 water changes and a stable 8.5 alk 0.05 phos and 7-10 nitrate. My colors and polyp extension can’t get any better than it is right now !
@@Botzz28 I would fail so hard with a 6.5g!
@@RB-Raj lmao why! I been in the hobby for 7-8 years now it’s not that bad. Honestly this tank is coming out insane. The trick is to test a lot since it’s such a small volume of water and things can change quick. I’m only trying to put in high end pieces since there isn’t much real estate. You should try it out lol. Is reef builders going to reefapalooza NY this weekend ?
@@Botzz28 see, that’s the problem: too much work required. Large tanks don’t fluctuate as much, so they’re simpler and better for my lazy ass! 😂
It is kinda interesting when native English speakers pronounce scientific names. As in my understanding scientific names consist mostly of Latin words and to some extent Greek words and some names in other languages it would most likely be closest to "correct" to use some of those websites that pronounce words in Italian? 😊 Pronounciation is quite different from English. 😉
We do our best! Maybe we should enroll in some courses! ~Remy
What did Remy’s salinity go up to when he left his ato off?
I love listening to Mr. Meckley, "everything has a name now, but no one knows the species"... yep
How do people get into the coral importing business?
It usually starts in a garage or basement and gets bigger and bigger as relationships and clientele grow. Gotta have the proper permits though. ~Remy
Awesome episode, recording sucked feel like I miss a lot info from chris
How you can trust what Chris is selling from one to month to another is beyond me. He changes his mind on what advice he gives out like his underwear.....
Thanks guys. Im not a fan of - elements, then having to + them later. Makes zero sense to me. Ten years from now this gear and processes will be outdated most likely. The Algae scrubber companies should pair up with the trace element companies. It sounds like an equipment racket sometimes in this hobby.
We will take that bet! They should be industry standard rather than inefficient and outdated refugiums still being pushed today.
@@clearwaterscrubbers7589 Bahahaha the algae robbers have joined the chat with their turf robber, anyone want a small plastic box with a cheap light on it for $900USD? 65 year old technology abandoned by all commercial entities that know what they are doing. Algae scrubbers and refugium's work well, turf scrubbers are a gimmick at best and fill pumps full of junk......
Such a good session! Even better listening to it after the Aquatic Expo and able to sign the book and poster for Reef. 🪸💙🪸
Very cool! ~Remy
