I wonder how many people actually got your 'brushless' joke? I came here from Steve's channel and I'm amazed you can run a channel just on cleaning things! You do good work though, so hats off. Still can't believe people return stuff like this instead of the new items they were sent.
I would have liked to see you restore the black lettering where you wiped parts of it off and it would have been a good idea to replace all the dirty grease with some new stuff but either way it was an awesome restoration, good job
The little black tab you found on the bottom with screws in it is an optional extra Bluetooth device you can buy that links the tool to your phone for dewalt connect enabling you to either disable the tool or lend to another person on a timer so when the times up it cuts the tool out like a dead switch and the tool won’t work till you go and re-enable it on your app
This was weirdly satisfying to watch. I love that's there are other ppl out there that cleans their tool like this. Nobody else than you know how clean it is on the inside, but you know. Thank you so much for this vid. Keep up the good work. Love from Norway
I was thinking the same. I mean it would be very easy to change the grease when you got it open anyways. And grease is super cheap way to keep you tool working for a long time.
I seen Steve's video's last week, but it's really interesting watching you clean them and talking about it. Never really thought about what the insides of these look like. Thanks Robert!
This was cool. I've never seen inside tools like these before. If Dawn truly works to clean birds after an oil spill, I don't see why it couldn't also work here. Cat content is always welcome😊
I repair tools and that first hammer definitely needed to be cleaned out and that means the gears will need to be done as well. It had to much grease in there, it's only takes just a little grease or the hammer won't hit the anvil the way it should. Also, you should've sprayed contact cleaner into the switch to get the dust out. Cleaning them is a good thing to do but you need to clean everything, gears, hammer and anvil included to insure it stays running at optimum
Taking notes as to clean up my tools. And thank you for the effort to keep the stickers on them. Matters more thank you know when you're trying to troubleshoot a broken tool.
Great video! I like to make a mix of dish soap and a little IPA and water and then put that in a dawn power spray bottle. That seems to knock out a lot of mystery gunk on some new-to-me junk from auctions.
Loki is such a beautiful baby! Edit: While watching you wash the housing, I suddenly got a "Stop or my mom will shoot" vibe. LOL Great job on the tools.
If you are looking to clean dirt and grim off those corners and crevice's, but cotton swabs aren't doing it. Without damaging your plastic tools you can use toothpicks on plastic and metal.
It may look not so “factory” but when i clean my milwaukees up, i use a small wire wheel on a dremel, and put a light brush finish on the exposed metal parts…. Hides the previous scratches and almost looks better IMO, BUT, obviously refurbished…
Every impact ive ever had apart had less grease inside of it… not sure if thats becuase they were more used or just milwaukee having less in there..? That suprised me how much was in there…
The grease (anywhere) is like the oil in a car, if it's black, it should have been replaced already. If it's also gritty, something's wrong or it's not only spent but dirty.
You should have also cleaned the old grease. It looked very used up and burnt. You improved these tools esthetically, but did nothing for the real functionality. If you went so far as to check the grease, might as well change it. Other than that, great video.
Howdy 🙂 I make custom collectibles and I'd love to make you a wand for mixing up your soapy water. No charge, of course, I just like your channel and I'd love to see one of my collectibles being put to good use. I was thinking maybe a Keyblade from Kingdom Hearts? Something cool like that. Let me know what you think 🙂
The moulding dates from the smaller impact driver are from 04-2023 that is much newer than I thought it would be. It looks like it's been abused for years.
Robert, have you considered releasing a playlist of cleanings without music or commentary? As an ASMR version? There’s quite a large community of people who would enjoy that, I think.
I appreciate that kind of content also, and appreciate your feedback. Consider it noted and on the brainstorming whiteboard. I know this isn't what you are saying, but we have a Facebook channel that is essentially the same content minus the music. It does have my dialogue though.
Is there a way you can make your videos with commentary optional? It's clear you record after the project, and the video is much more enjoyable without commentary.
Regreasing impacts in particular can be kind of tricky, too much grease and it won't strike the anvils properly too little and it will wear out much faster. If there doesn't seem to be a need for it, it might just be better to avoid.

Never apologize for a cat meowing. Awesome, video! Always look forward to what items you'll be working on next.
Steve sent me to watch your video. I love how you made these tools look brand new. Great job.
This was the first time I’ve actually seen the inside of a Dewalt drill. Fascinating video!

I thank you, For cleaning the "Things that Steve Has Fixed"! and making them look NEW🤩

Defiantly a yes on the grease replacement. Nice work.
I was thinking the same. I mean it would be very easy to change the grease when you got it open anyways. And grease is super cheap way to keep you tool working for a long time.
i need more of those videos, truly amazing restoration!
Steve's video was a blast! Can't wait for yours!
I am thoroughly impressed, I didn't expect such a good result for both of these. And the kitty is awesome!
I seen Steve's video's last week, but it's really interesting watching you clean them and talking about it. Never really thought about what the insides of these look like. Thanks Robert!

Loki wants tweats, because he’s such a good boy!!!
Thanks for sharing your kitty. Not everyone is a cat person. I am and it warmed my heart!

Idea for next video: giving the cat a bath.
Yes i would change the grease just for fun, but *you* are the boss here ^^
also make sure to look up what type of grease to use in specific machines, sometimes its not an all grease is same type of thing
This is pure therapy, thanks a lot for the video 😊
Would have probably used a grease oil based paint marker to fill restore some of the branding and letters.
Came for the restoration. Stayed for the kitty
This was cool. I've never seen inside tools like these before.

I found simple green (somewhat diluted) in an ultrasonic cleaner will clean up tool shells with very little effort or elbow grease. :)
You must clean the gear box area of grease as thoroughly as possible and add the appropriate grease back in or use spray grease
Steve brought me here😊
Cool, I saw the video from Tronix fix and stumbled across this one later on
You did an excellent job, they look great!
Awesome restoration 👍😁
Amazing work getting all that mystery guck off!
You do amazing cleaning videos.thank you for this channel 🎉
Nicely Done. Kitty is adorable as well :)
Great video! Steve sent me and I’m happy to sub to you, keep up the good work ❤
Oven degreaser works great for cleaning power tools
Super satisfying 🧘🏽♂️
Loki is such a beautiful baby!
Edit: While watching you wash the housing, I suddenly got a "Stop or my mom will shoot" vibe. LOL Great job on the tools.
I love watch you and steve's channels!
Loki is precious! 😻
Those looked almost new I should send you my set
haha I bet you didn't imagine restoring impact drivers when you and Steve started talking about this channel XD
They look GOOD! Great video, thanks Rob!
Thanks! Also, appreciate your engagement with the chat during the livestream.
Wow they look like new great job
Such a beautiful kitty
why not get a ultrasonic cleaner, for bbigger parts and for electronics aswell?
very impressing cleaning. thanks for sharing.

They use Dawn on the animals when there is oil spills it does wonders.
Toy Polloi (fixer of vintage toys) uses lighter fluid to remove stickers and sticks them back on with Pritt Stick. May save you time.
I commented before I saw all of the video- spray adhesive works better.

Just came over from Steve's channel. I will subscribe for the kitty alone :)
Machines like to be cleaned, they love you for it!
Grease Lightning! ⚡️
nice kitty
I wonder how putting the plastic shells in an ultrasonic cleaner with a water degreaser mixture would go ??
Dawn dish soap is the worlds best de greaser any type of grease I have ever had to get rid of.
The grease (anywhere) is like the oil in a car, if it's black, it should have been replaced already. If it's also gritty, something's wrong or it's not only spent but dirty.
Kitty meowing is a must have...
Super Clean is your friend on petroleum grime.
You should have also cleaned the old grease. It looked very used up and burnt. You improved these tools esthetically, but did nothing for the real functionality. If you went so far as to check the grease, might as well change it. Other than that, great video.

I didn't notice that! Good eye. And yeah, surprising for being so relatively new!
Yay! Kitty intermission!
I see your joining Steve into power tools 😂😂😂
Next time try Awesome cleaner is good for smokers yellowing and grease.
Nice work!
I love your cat!!
I love IPA❤
From tronicsfix?
Like for the cat.
Powertools cleaning and a cat what more can you ask for :)
Try Dawn power wash it really great and powerful
Kitty cameo!
The white stuff on the one driver was definitely caulk

Nuevo por el canal jaja referido por tronixfix jaja saludos

It looks a lot cleaner, but why not re-grease the impact mechanism?
Didn't need it
Regreasing impacts in particular can be kind of tricky, too much grease and it won't strike the anvils properly too little and it will wear out much faster. If there doesn't seem to be a need for it, it might just be better to avoid.
Neat.
Is the Gorilla spray adhesive samme as contact cement?
Is it just me, or were you hiding the side that had all the crap on it after you cleaned it. I only saw one side of each after cleaning.
Good eye. It was not intentional, and both sides are clean. Just how it happened to come through the editing process.
Couldve just told the man theres no point in cleaning tools that are just going to end up as dirty or worse than they were once there sold 😂😂😂😂
if you want to cut grease usually people would use petrol or kerosine
Yawn...

The tools are cleaned but still look pretty thrashed.
Keep the cat in the room with you while you're working more often, please. He is always welcome.
Im not being funny or anything but you keep repeating ‘inside of’ when ‘inside’ is fine on its own. I think it’s an American thing. 😂
What bs is this? These dirty? Is the owner a dentist?
