Dude, same. I tried sniping last night and got so frustrated missing every quick scope. That's always been my jam, and I thought I'd suddenly gotten horrible at it.
The way they've handled this game (Warzone/releases) since MW2 is just a long series of absolutely mindblowingly dumb game design decisions. Every change they've made to the game has been to make it closer to WZ1, and it's still *way* worse than the original. For every new thing I learn about this game I essentially just get happier that I quit a long time ago.

Add RNG mechanic that lowers skill ceiling, The community hates it, revert the change admitting it was dumb, do it again in the next game. All CoD has going for it is the gunplay and they are doing everything they can to fuck that up.

@@SP2SP2SP2 Being accurate enough to line up your shot is super easy and in CoD has no downsides. So either the guns have to be less lethal (oneshot only to the head), or they have to be made harder to use. Can't have it both ways with your ez mode cringe cannon.

The sniping mechanics for BO6 are very similar to BO, which was a prime year for dragscoping. Dragscoping fell off after Black Ops when quickscoping became easier in the next game. Why so petty?

It’s like the whole world has been telling them since wz2 to just revert the mechanics back, but they just continue to double down… I’d rather someone abuse slide canceling than deal with the increase muzzle flash, increased visual recoil and idle sway mechanics..
So this makes Target Laser a crouch attachment on nearly all weapons. It boggles the mind why they doubled down on this mechanic. Just to add a weapon attachment to counter it. I wouldn't be surprised if this attachment gets stealth nerf by season 1.
Other weapons have longer time to sway by default and there are underbarrel grips to help with the later sway. This seems to be specifically targeted at the snipers because of the long TTK in BO6. Also BO6 doesn't seem to have "firing stability" and the idle sway carries forward even when firing, as MWIII's idle sway is replaced by firing stability when firing (can't do proper testing as this is from my beta experience). I also think that this mechanic is done development before people had voiced against this mechanic during MWIII. Treyarch has mentioned to improve aiming blob (not sure if it's related to this mechanic) for the S1 update in their launch blog post.
It also gives people going against a sniper a chance, if they don't have the attachment. USually when you see the glint from a sniper, you're already dead without any chance to fight back.

Because the hitbox you _thought_ was in the crosshairs while hardscoped is not what the hit registry is going to deliver. He's right, this is a crutch attach.
I love that. A laser to aim where I'm aiming, a muzzle to see where I'm seeing, a stock so the wobble doesn't make me throw up, a mag so I have bullets, and a barrel so the bullets get to their destination. Crazy "META" and innovation with their attachments. Can't wait for a Perk so I don't sound like an elepha-- oh, no. They already did that didn't they? 😅
I wish they had time to make attachments fun and interesting. Different barrels for different velocitys but different cadence or damage. Same with the others. You know? Trade-offs so guns would have personalities depending on the user. Instead we have 200 guns and 200 attachments to only use the SAME 5 😂 that's clearly better above the rest, or that just literally fix the gun.
I thought they'd do that when they added different ammunitions but they literally make the recoil unusable or the velocity atrocious. They clearly don't play their own game. Add to add.
Each COD is developed by a different lead studio, and not every change in one studio is immediately conveyed to another studio because of the annual COD releases. Studios also have their preferences on making attachments. One studio likes to add plenty of attachment penalties with a micro adjustment system, another studio likes to add some penalties and better and better attachments over time to neutralize the penalty, and the other studio likes to make perk-based attachments and add almost no penalties. You can be disappointed in the annual COD releases and some weird developer choices, but making the same attachment system of having "trade-off" with every COD game when you always wanted to minimize the weapon penalties in general is boring as well imo.

this feature was added originally on bo1, and i believe it was to discourage quickscoping, as you would never scope exactly where you were pointing, so you would need to scope and additionally flick.
Yeah I didn't mind it as much,we just switched to slight hard scopes while still,then continue sprinting like normal or the other method which I liked: drag scoping or counter swaying That's just how we dealt with it in bo1,it's funny to see it exist 14-15 years later

Makes a noticeable difference on the SWAT 556, the one thing that held it back in the beta was that massive sway, that's the kinda gun you need pinpoint accurate and the sway just made that impossible, so i'm glad it's gone

I legit thought somehow I had become trash overnight with my centering which has always been really good. This target laser makes a world of difference on ARs and SMGs as well especially on MnK
Removing it completely would be unrealistic and would make snipers way over powered. No one is skilled enough to do from hip fire to aimed fire with their aim not needing to be adjusted.
I believe the reason for the aim way is to make it harder for people who quickscope, to actually accurately quickscope. Since most snipers are precise and are one shot kill. So more of a balance thing.

Don't know if this is a known thing, but if you hold "focus" button (hold breath) BEFORE ADS-ing, it has a similar affect to this attatchment. Probably not the same, and hard to do on controller in heat of battle, but seemed to work in firing range.

He wasn't sure if that was a bug or intentional to keep quick scopers in check, but considering this laser exists it looks like it's intentional.😑
They're basically soft removing snipers from 6v6. They know they can't actually do that, but they maybe would if they could lol. Like you said, it's 100% deliberate.

does setting your ads timing to gradual help with this? Seems like was less affected with this issue when I switched.. So I been changing this depending on the weapon I use ... Or did I just get used to it and its a false fix that still worked out for me ...
And that's bs, sniping community is one of the biggest group in this game. And they are just killing this community 🤡 With these maps, TTK etc using these snipers is just useless.
There is 100% more visual "noise" that mw3. Trying to shoot that further dummy in the shooting range is a challenge. I also put 3 plates on the 2nd dummy (25mtr) and it took over 40 bullets with the jackal to kill it 😂

This is the same as snipers in black ops 1 everyone complained because the scope was swaying like crazy.
I loved the sniping in Black Ops. I’m enjoying the sniping in BO6 as well. Dragscopping is back & fantastic!

Great info. I don't usually even look at the laser category, as I don't like advertising my position. This one would definitely be worth it though.

I put target laser on every thing. Turns everything into a laser beam matched with something that corrects recoil control
But it adds an incredibly obvious green laser that anyone just has to follow to see where you're hiding. It's a pretty big con

I hope they remove that and give them all a standard 2.8ms delay before aim sway that's a bit nuts and destroys quick scoping without the attachment.
