My boyfriend and I have been sick the last couple of weeks so we haven’t been grocery shopping and are just living off of the food in our home. Lots of frozen veg, lentils and pasta but I have really been enjoying trying to be creative with food. I know that a lot of the inspiration comes from following our creativity in your recipe?! This video was seriously just a happy sight today! Along with all the self isolation stuff, we had an earthquake in Utah this morning. It wasn't huge, but we are set to have a massive one at some point so it's triggers a lot of anxiety in me when we have even a smaller one. Having your video pop up when I went to eat lunch instantly calmed me. Thanks Lauren!

I usually modify your recipes quite a lot because of where I live (I'm more limited as far as vegan specific items, tho there is a vegan cheese made here in Japan that puts the ones from the USA to shame), but the concepts are amazing and I've gotten great ideas from these style videos!

I credit Recipe?! videos for fully weaning me off of my "training wheels" so to say in the kitchen. I rarely cook with recipes (baking is a different story though) and use the tips and tricks from hot for food as inspiration! Now it is a matter of building up more flavor knowledge as related to cuisines I am less familiar with. This was such a joy to watch and I love the hack of using sauerkraut brine! I save all of the brine in my fridge and I think my dressings were just lacking sweetness and creaminess, so the dijon and maple syrup are going to have to make an appearance in my dressings!
Excellent recipe and a great video to watch during self isolation. Keep safe and well Lauren and everyone. Hopefully the Coronavirus madness will end soon and the scientific community finds a vaccine or treatment.
Just breathe....so much truth to that statement. I actually set alarms on my iPad every 2 hours throughout the day so that I can remind myself to breathe deeply for about 5 minutes. We need to be prepared, but must also be level headed. I just got back from the health food store where I had talked to one of the employees and she wasn’t panicked about the virus as much as she was worried about future hurricanes. We live near the beach. But it just goes to show how irrational we as a society have become. Thanks for showing up with comfort food at just the right time when we all need it. I would rather watch this than the news.

We have to be responsible about the virus but not entirely FREAKED if we are healthy and don't have compromised immune systems. Anyway this was meant to be a pause from news... I don't watch it and get my info from people I know who are watching it haha they LOVE talking about it anyway

My family has been making these amazing hazelnut cookies since... forever... Basically, you make a meringue and add ground hazelnuts to make a dough thick enough to scoop with a cookie scoop and it keeps its shape. Sprinkle with granulated sugar and press once with a fork. Bake. I have been meaning to try it with aquafaba to see if I can veganize it. Try it out, Lauren!
ya sounds similar to how I make the cake for the hazelnut torte with aqua faba. I guess the ratios would be different! I will try ... if I have chickpea or bean brine !
Just a little tip, you put the dirty pizza box on the counter, and then opened the pizza and put the pizza on the counter. Next time wipe down your grocery items or don’t put boxes on the counter. Cardboard can hold viruses for days, as well as plastic and other materials.
well the heat of the oven and cast iron would have killed anything on the pizza. I'm so not a germaphobe to be honest so its hard for me to think all of that through in the moment 😬
