  • Today we show how to cook amazing sea scallops on the Blackstone griddle! This easy recipe is so quick and delicious! We know you'll want to add this amazing sea scallops cook on the Blackstone griddle to your regular griddle cooks!
    Cooking Sea Scallops:
    Fresh Sea Scallops (we had .67 lbs)
    4 tbs butter
    2 cloves garlic - minced
    3 tbs olive oil
    3 tsp salt (to taste)
    2 tsp pepper (to taste)
    1/4 cup parsley
    Bring griddle to approx. 490-500 degrees. Once to temp, lay oil on the griddle top. When you see a wisp of white smoke, griddle is ready! Season one side of the scallops with salt and pepper. Lay seasoned side down on the griddle (scallops should sizzle immediately). Place each scallop down. Once down, begin flipping where you started (ensuring the first side is seared, and golden brown/dark brown). Continue the process until all scallops are flipped. Continue to cook 1-2 minutes and pull from the heat. Let rest for 3 minutes, serve and enjoy! (*Our scallops cooked for 3 minutes on the first side, and 2 minutes on the second side).
    As always, we love hanging out, laughing, and enjoying life! Take a time out from life and laugh with us, because when you're with the WALTWINS, you're family!

    I did scallops tonight like you guys did. Yes two minutes per side. Pulled them off and covered then with foil to keep warm. In the mean time (or prior to cooking the scallops) I cooked a pot of linguini. Then I sautéed garlic, scallions and thyme in olive oil and butter added a cup of wine. Reduced. Added chicken broth then lemon zest, lemon juice and basil. Put the pasta in the pan and topped with scallops. Great dinner. You guys really inspire me and love your channel.

      WALTWINS I will give credit where credit is due. Got this recipe off of Food Network. It’s called Seared Sea Scallops with Linguini in a Herb and Wine Sauce. But works well with the Blackstone, just some minor modifications.

    Great sear on those scallops❣️ I didn't like scallops until I had some that were cooked properly. I picture them served with roasted yukon gold potatoes and bacon wrapped asparagus... I'm hungry🤣

    Tiny, small, medium, or large, I love me some scallops. I just made some not too long ago with a lemon garlic butter sauce, smashed gold potatoes with roasted shallots and asparagus. I used my cast iron to get the nice crust on there, but man would the Blackstone work wonders! I am thinking next time with some Garlic Herb Linguine! They looks delicious bros: truly gave my salivary glands a workout. Griddle on!

    We literally have run out of room on our patio for any more cook tops. We have a smoker and grill on either end of our patio. We can't get a Blackstone, but I feel like of I put my cast iron griddle on the grill I can get "almost" the same effect here and do some scallops on the grill.
    On another note, who gives a thumbs down on any video? Obviously, a person who has never invested the time or energy of what it takes to make even a mediocre video. So several thumbs up from me. Love your videos guys, keep up the fantastic work!!! I appreciate them.

    • @waltwins
      @waltwins  3 роки тому +2

      Yes! If you can get the grill hot enough, you should totally be able to do that with the griddle! And thank you so much for the kind words, honestly, I’ve given feedback to UA-cam (as a creator) about the thumbs down. Neither Facebook or Instagram have dislike buttons, and it’s always discouraging. We get it that it’s not for everyone, but we simply move on if we don’t like something. You are awesome! Take care!🤗🤗

    Great video as usual! I basically bought a Blackstone because my family love scallops so much. I couldn't find a cast iron skillet large enough to accommodate the larger size scallops we enjoy because the temp decreases so much when we flip them. On a large skillet, the initial sear was great but when we flipped them it didn't have the high temp necessary to sear the other side. So on the Blackstone, I kind of cheat because I sous vide the scallops first, then just sear them. I get the whole surface hot, then when I turn them over, I make sure to use a different part of the surface to get that nice sear on both sides. Finish with a white wine, butter, and lemon juice reduction...wow. I'm always learning from you guys and just thought I would share my method. Thanks for the video!

    • @waltwins

    Do you guys prefer cooking on the griddle better than cooking on a BBQ.

    • @waltwins
      @waltwins  3 роки тому +1

      Thank you so much for watching - we do! The grill is awesome, and great for many foods, but we find there are a thousand more things we can do on the griddle, including most of those cooks we’d toss on the grill, and we enjoy just as much!

    I have heard the term wet and dry scallops. Wet scallops are soaked in water and other things where dry aren't. Is the process of cooking wet scallops different than cooking dry scallops. Were the ones you cooked wet or dry?

    How do you clean the griddle when you're done?

    • @waltwins
      @waltwins  3 роки тому +1

      Thank you so much for watching! We have a cleaning video that shows the process, but I let it start to cool, and if there is food stuck on, I use water (with the griddle hot enough that it steams, pulling stuck on food). I then wipe it down, put oil on it, and wipe the oil. The oil seems to pick up any extra gunk. I repeat this process (with the oil) a few times until it’s nearly clear. Then I lay one more thin coat of oil down and wipe, leaving the thin coat on to protect the surface. Hope this helps! Take care!🤙🤙

      Thank you so much for watching! This is the General brand we picked up at Lowe’s, however, we recently acquired the Blackstone temp gun/thermometer that we absolutely love at Walmart!🤙🤙
