    Really good video i loved the practice idea of hitting up a slight incline for your driver abd hitting on a decline with your irons to encourage the right action... i'll get out there and try that!

    Adam's suggestions are so clear and easy to follow which is such a big help. My game has certainly improved in terms of consistency. The scores have improved but I have more work to do before there is a marked difference. Thanks Adam, your lessons are appreciated.

    I thoroughly enjoy drills that can be executed without instruments. These before the tee drills are therefore fantastic! Please make sure to add more "on the course drills" in future videos, I feel it helps me actually continue using the drills.

    First let me say You make it easy to understand what ever you are trying to teach. I am 43 yrs old and am a 22 hcp. Hardest part of my game is 220 to 190 yards and of course putting 10 ft and greater. Bought a Callaway X Hot 5 wood for the 200 yarders but not used to hitting a wood of the ground so no help there. Also got a new White Hot Pro Blade putter and that helped out A lot. Any advice on the 5 wood? You seem like a Talented teacher. I live in Key Largo Fl. And mostly play Redlands golf course which has harder fairways Thank You!

      Regards 5 wood, it's the same motion as other longer clubs. I have fairway wood videos at the UA-cam channel.

    I like this for mid round check up but think you could have even gone deeper...I like to hit driver on the range then immediately pick up a wedge then go back to the driver...you immediately get the feedback of the difference in stance width, difference in how much body vs arms used, and spine tilt. Would like to see this same video with driver and wedge vs 8 iron. Thanks! Chris

    Adam, in the driver setup, as well as his feet being much wider, his toes also appear to be pointing much more outwardly. Does this contribute anything more than just increased stability?

    • @Scratchgolfacademy
      @Scratchgolfacademy  5 років тому

      Steven,
      It's a good observation, but I'd say it adds to his mobility (hip rotation).
      All the best, Adam

    • @stevenkingsley7781
      @stevenkingsley7781 5 років тому

      Totally agree Adam, flaring the legs a little will definitely create a bit more space for the hips to turn in

  • @raymondchastel414
    @raymondchastel414 5 років тому

    To hit the ball on the upswing ,the tee and the ball should be further towards the big left toe .There's a mini sllde in the downswing to get there .With the irons there's no forward move of the body ,it's more a rotary movement

    One of the ways I got down to a single digit handicap years ago was leaving the driver in the bag! The thing that makes me crazy with the driver is there is no consistency to my miss-hits, I can top them, pop them up, massive slice or snap hook, and the swing feels about the same. I am working on keeping my hands ahead of the ball at impact, but do you still do that with a driver or fairway wood? Looks like his hands are right over the top of the ball at impact with the driver.

    • @Scratchgolfacademy
      @Scratchgolfacademy  5 років тому

      Random,
      With the driver the upper body is much more behind ball. Sop, even though there is angle between right arm and shaft, the hands are about even with the ball.

      @@Scratchgolfacademy,
      I know you do this for a living, but still, I can't thank you enough. If I had known all these things you teach so well when I was in my 20's, I might be a golf pro today. Oh well, better late than never. Now that I am in my 50's, my body is more prone to aches and pains and even muscle strains and tendinitis, so that is what is holding me back. Thanks again, and keep those new videos and drill recommendations coming!

    경사면에 몸이 따라 갈것이 아니라
    (경사면에 따라 가면면 몸동작이 부자연 스러울수 있다)
    내몸이 경사면에서 가장 자연스러운 동작을 할수 있게 어드레스 한후에
    연습 스윙을 통해 최저점을 찾고
    그 자리에 공이 놓여지게 몸을 이동 시키면 된다.

      Hey Adam, I've been struggling with ball striking on the course, but do fairly well at the range. I believe the fake turfgrass hides my mis-hits during practice, and then shows its ugly face during play. Do you have any suggestions besides switching facilities for my ball striking? I'd also like to add I've seen all of your ball striking videos and they have significantly improved my game!

    i dont understand the concept of shifting my weight but yet keeping my head behind the ball at impact with the driver. what am i missing?

    • @thesurfstudmuffin
      @thesurfstudmuffin 5 років тому +1

      (Writing this for a right-handed golfer) - If you address the ball like Adam says, your head is naturally behind the ball. During your backswing, shift your weight to the inside of your right foot, so that you don't get out of balance. Then during the downswing, bring your right elbow in by engaging your core (this is the "magic move" in Harvey Penick's Little Red Book) , then follow through. Remember that when you hit a D or 3W off the tee, you are meeting the ball after your swing bottoms out. This may sound weird, but during address, I place my club (D or 3W) at the bottom of the swing, which is usually a few inches behind the ball. This helps me envision that the club needs to rise when I strike the ball. Hope this helps.

      Hard to say without seeing you swing. Maybe hit some irons off a low tee, and work on picking ball off tee without touching the ground.
