      I dont know if they have the same thing in the US as Canada, but you can now get a shot once a month instead of going in everyday for subs. It is way better not having to worry about getting to the clinic every day and being around other users so constantly.

    Hi. First off I've never been in your position but many of my friends are in recovery. My best friend was on the sub for years then got some painkillers after surgery and relapsed one weekend. He came to us on a monday to head back to rehab. When he got out that time it was a huge difference. He accredits it all to getting off the sub. He said that it really helped his self-esteem and overall view of life. His whole view changed. Keep your chin up. Don't stress about the job. There's a ton of them out there. I just had a crazy realization as an addict you said spent $300/day right and as an addict by god you would get that $300 come hell or high water.
    But as a sober person I wonder why it’s so hard like I feel broke soo often. I guess as an addict we did a lot more questionable shit to get the money.
    But if I just spent that same effort and had that same “heart” for lack of a better word to get that money legally there’s no reason I should ever go through money struggled again.
    Just kind of a little vent and realization I just had.
    I know money isn’t everything but it does make life alot easier when you know bills are going to be paid and are able to do things with loved ones and not worry.

    • @danielsinrecovery

      exactly bro. and essentially that's exactly what im trying to do right now as a matter of fact. Im hustling hard rn. just like I would back in the day. and I can say confidently if you put in the same effort to do it in recovery you legit can legally pull the same type of numbers, it might not be super consistent but at least enough to keep up if that makes sense. but yea man, just gotta spin that energy into positive forms of income!!!

      I had that realization a while back too, I would go to extreme lengths to come up with $200 every day to make sure I’m not miserable. Kind of like you said, a lot of it was questionable. But I had it more times than not. I realize now it was more of me being scared of feeling so bad. And I’m the same way, complaining about getting my monthly script, but I realize I legit would spend more in a day sometimes.

    Just wanted to let you know that tapering off the subs is way easier than I expected. I was on 8mg/day for almost 2 years, and my doc had me start tapering super slowly, literally only 4mg per month.
    So each month I got two 2mg pills less in my refill, and now I’m almost down to 2mg/day. I didn’t notice anything from the taper until recently, and it’s been very minor. If you start on a very slow taper, you won’t notice it for a super long time.
    I was getting 112 pills per month, now I’m at 30 and it’s been WAY easier than I expected. I feel you on not wanting to start during a stressful period, but if you taper slowly, it won’t be a factor for a long time. I promise you.
    Good luck and thanks for your great content as usual

    You can always still see the subs in a person. My belief is if you can't do it in 1 prescription or less then you cant do it quite yet. The first part of the script is easy street then you as the person who wants to be free of the shit must not gradually but progressively taper yourself off.. Good work on your progress man. My advice on the job situation is that if you feel like you were targeted of wrongly terminated I would look into hiring a lawyer or finding on that you only have to pay if you win and sue them MF's. Get that Bankroll.

    Bro if you not against it, go to a psychiatrist/doc to see if you have ADHD/add, it seriously help my opioid cravings/sobriety, if u don’t know stimulant relaease your natural endorphins like exercise but I believe to a much higher extent as I can almost feel the endorphins(they can’t cross your bbb so endorphins can get you high) but they def help pain, arms, legs /whole body feels good when I take my medication and it doesn’t fog you mind like opioids. Natural endorphins r the goat. Btw if you do get diagnosed, vyvanse is the best option as it has the least side effects/least anxiety inducing side effects and more confidence and focus enchantment

    That is so funny bc when I first started taking subs, I was paying in cash and I felt the exact same way. Good god this shit is fucking expensive but then when I stopped to think about it, I was taking the 30 mg oxy and I would take anywhere between 6 to 10 per day so I was spending between $150-$250 every single day so in reality it really wasn’t that expensive but now my insurance covers it so I don’t pay a dime for them. I usually take 8 mg in the morning and then I tried to remember to take it early enough because it does give me a boost of energy so I try to take my second dose by 6 o’clock but sometimes I do forget but I never forget the morning dose.

    • @joannmannarino8898
      @joannmannarino8898 4 місяці тому

      Oh and one other thing. Hats off to you for handling the job loss so eloquently. It would be a good (or we addicts think good) excuse to pick up and relapse. I recently started working with (sponsoring) someone very new in recovery - her DOC was alcohol and she’s only been off of it for about 3 weeks and she recently lost her job bc they smelled alcohol on her as she had been drinking. She recently got a new job which was not what she thought it was at all and she hates it and wants to quit (mind u she’d only been working there 2 days). She told me that if she continues to work there, she’s going to be miserable and will probably pick up a drink but if she quits her husband is going to be pissed off at her and she’s probably gonna pick up a drink. I told her number one priority do not pick up that first drink. I then said you’ve only been there two days and you might not like it but look at it as a temporary situation and continue to look for a better job sometimes when we first get clean and sober, we do have to humble ourselves, but the bottom line is if she drinks nothing is going to get better. It’s only going to get much worse. If she doesn’t pick up a drink, things will improve. Hopefully I got through to her anyway I’m proud of you, good job!!!

    • @danielsinrecovery
      @danielsinrecovery  4 місяці тому

      yea exactly and its crazy the amount we spend back then and now its like a fraction of it and yea its like wtf haha, but no, just gotta turn that energy around so that you can keep that same motion but legally!

There's no way id be where Im at currently if I was still hitting any type of like street source.
