I like how you used footage of that one woman who kept appearing on game shows under aliases because she wasn’t allowed to be on them for some reason.
Would be funny if she had a Win Record
She appeared on Jeopardy! as Barbara Lowe, and got to stay on the show for five days. They then found out that she used different names and social security numbers to get on these shows, which was a big no-no, so they took away her winnings. Her episodes are to never be rerun again.
@@thaivong6620on the contrary. Her episodes were actually found.
The fact that people can keep track of all the episodes to the point of being able to identify lost ones is astounding.
You should talk about how Judy Garland’s dress from Wizard of Oz was lost for over 80 years
I respect/admire your content and overall enjoyment when discussing this topic
This pretty much reflects your content as whole and rather than Depicting lost media creepy and mysterious, like most channels on this platform tend to do
Your lighthearted and positive videos/approach, is something we need more of in the Lost Media community

@@bryangarcia5599 oh....
My bad
Thanks for the heads up
Let me fix that real quick
@@phoenixv2460 No problem. I'm pretty sure I knew what you meant to say ('enthusiasm'), but others may have been quite perplexed.

I also edited to say "I respect/admire your content and overall enjoyment when discussing this topic"
I hope most people didn't read it by now
However I think it's already too late
Great video! Even though the pilot was found, there still one element from it that remains lost; the theme song. It’s called “Take Ten” by Julann Griffin and it was used during the original run of Jeopardy in the 60s and 70s. You can hear parts of it played at the beginning and end of the pilot. It’s a very catchy tune and I hope that it can resurface someday.
On the pilot, and clips of it that have been copied and surfaced, you can hear a pretty good run of it. It remains my favorite game show theme of all time. A few years ago someone circulated a copy of what might have been taken from the pilot. It was my first time hearing it in probably over 35 years. How many people go over 35 years without hearing a favorite song? And now, within this week, it appears numerous copies have been posted. Thank you to all who posted them. I recorded them onto my phone so I have my own copies even if someone wipes the accounts.
I wonder if Merv Griffin tried to bury Take Ten because his ex-wife wrote it.
I’m glad we got this piece of history uploaded! It’s so interesting to see how far jeopardy has come. I hope the rest can be uploaded somehow.
Funny how the pilot was uploaded by Jeopardy themselves the day before April fools day!
I recently heard about this polit episode of jeopardy and I'm glad it's been found. 😀👍
Lost and found game show episodes are utterly fascinating. The sheer amount of them, dating back to over 50 years ago, and the dedication to archive as much as possible is admirable. And this is just about English speaking media. Foreign game shows lost media would be an even bigger rabbit hole.
As a gameshow fan + expert, I'm gonna say this, every member in the Gameshow Community were pissing themselves and were excited, as well as myself xd
This is why I want these old and hard to find gameshows' early episodes to be aired on TV again
DAMN! This is an impressive find even if it's just a single episode.
Actually the Fleming-Pardo incarnation lasted until 1975. J! was revived in 1978 with Fleming as emcee and John Harlan announcing. That version crashed and burned after five months.
So back in the 60s NBC was notorious for reusing tapes and the first to always go were game shows. So many games shows from this time are basically gone. Most of the episodes that were saved were the first episode.
*HE PROWLED THROUGH THE TRANSYLVANIAN NIGHT*
30 seconds, players. Good luck.
The worst part is no one got it right 😅
Great job with explaining the research!
great video man i don’t even care about jeopardy but lost media is cool
I’m a huge jeopardy fan and I didn’t realize they’d uploaded it only to take it down! I’m hoping I can go find it to watch somewhere🙂
This reminds me of family fortunes here in the uk!
art is an excellent radio man. i spent many nights listening to him on the mighty mox
3:20 THE FUNNIES
I wonder why they only kept it on UA-cam for a short period of time?
Probably afraid of getting DMCA'd.
@@PiroKUSS don't they own the rights?
@@PiroKUSS I doubt it, since it was officially posted on the official Jeopardy UA-cam channel.
@@terrypostle but it owned by the rights holders though
@@RickGamesNow They do lol, didn't watch that part of the video when I said that.
The new Pluto Tv Jeopardy channel has been airing many old episodes of Jeopardy from when Alex hosted the show including some from the 1980s. None are from the 60s and 70s with Art Fleming unfortunately.
I absolutely LOVED Jeopardy back between 2013 and 2014 because it was always so educational!! I'm so glad multiple people saved the pilot episode from being lost again so that I can finally watch it again yay!! I just hope NBC doesn't catch people for uploading it to Google Drive and terminate them for good. Heck I didn't even know there was a pilot episode at all for this show until NBC showed it to the public and also until LSuperSonicQ talked about it in one of his videos as well.
Maybe lost “supernatural” content, that community has a really dedicated base. I’m also sure long running animated shows like South Park or Family guy have lost content
I wonder why they only had it available for a limited time. They must have known that uploading it to YT would have it be preserved forever by someone, so why not keep it up themselves? Strange
I'd consider all of "Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego" lost at this point, not to mention "Square One Television"
Well one thing's for sure about Jeopardy I still remembered it we aren't fleming. What art Fleming did it when the screen popped open he would say the answer is but in the newer version of Jeopardy you don't hear the answer is you just basically go right through it. And I cannot believe that Jeopardy has been around for 58 years and in another 2 years it'll celebrate at 60 years as a franchise.
As a british person i have to say , good for you america you found lost media for your gameshow that you like . Good job :)
Hey Mike, will you do more game show lost media
wow the 4000th episode was the exact day i was born! how cool
Yes.
Bro that's insane
hey I was wondering if you could do an episode about old lost tv shows or movies from the 20s or 30s
I was so happy when i saw this on lmw
It's shame Alex didn't get to work with Don Pardo
The long lost pilot!
I wonder how many game show episodes are gone I feel like they all come and go and episodes are never seen again
Jesus Christ 58 years man that's like food that lives for 58 years but never being found!!!
I’ve been looking for the complete episode, shown in the clip starting at 0:29. I believe it was from a primetime episode and might’ve been a tournament of champions. Do you or anyone else have this?
I'm British so I've never heard of jeopardy but this is really interesting!
RIP Alex Trebek.
woah cool!!
Epic
It was found on my birthday! (March 30th)
Sooooo where is it now? Did a quick search on UA-cam expecting to easily find the full thing but with no luck
Here it is.
archive.org/details/jeopardys-unaired-pilot-1964_202204
Lost Media Wiki has a copy of it
A real lost media now is those comments that get deleted but UA-cam still shows that they where there at some point
Wake up babe, new all things lost
But seriously, I’m surprised they didn’t put it behind some “collectors edition” or something. 50 years of holdout just to put it on UA-cam? Alright, I guess.
this is NOT jeopardy's first episode. the first episode is actually from 1964, this one was from the 1983 pilot.
edit: misleading thumbnail showing the 1983 pilot version of jeopardy, this one shows the first 1964 version.
oH hi thEre
I think you meant 'disenchanted' not 'disenfranchised'
Yes! Or 'disillusioned.' I really enjoy this channel, but there's almost always a mis-pronounced or mis-used word somewhere in the videos.
I saw this early
Why did you use the 1984 pilot in the thumbnail?
Will we get Lost Media of Marvel?
1:55 - wait, why was it wrong?
Yeah I don't get it either, seems like an acceptable answer to me, definitely can't think of a better one off the top of my head
Dang I was scouring the comments to see if someone knew the right "question" for this answer lol
The old fashioned word for "an immoral pleasure seeker" is a Rake. Such as in the series of paintings by William Hogarth ("A Rake's Progress"). Historically, Giacomo Casanova could be considered a rake. The word can also be used as an adjective, "rakish".
@@JadisAmalthea ty, that was my second guess
_annnnnnnnnd it's deleted._
Nice.
Now find "Dobra Cena"
Hi
i miss alex so much 😭 i never knew this show had any lost media
Do total fruit island
Do car lost media
It's Illegal to rig a game show? Nobody told Rupaul's Drag Race
Is there any racist content that went missing (my favorite being the black and white minstrel show)
This is really silly, I made a reddit community for myself for lost media, didnt check before hand, and have named it the same as your channel. Im super sorry! Can I hand it over to you?
Would have messaged you directly but no idea how to
Ayy
Who cares about game shows? I thought they only showed those on tv in case someone wanted to punish thier kids.
Every show has a market

To me, the REAL host of Jeopardy will always be Art Fleming. Never liked Alex Trebek. But Art Fleming was THE MAN!
"Art Fleming gave the answers.. Oh, but I couldn't get the questions right, I , I.. I lost on Jeopardy, baby!"
- Weird Al Yankovic's "I Lost on Jeopardy"
Sorry but I never heard of him before
Mr. Hild: I concur. I often said before Trebek's passing that, no matter how many years Trebek would host the show, Art Fleming would ALWAYS be THE host of Jeopardy!
Still a boring game show.
Not of any relevance to anyone outside of your country.
Considering many countries had their own versions of Jeopardy, I'd say it's relevant (or at least of interest) to whole bunch of people of different nationalities. Besides, lost media afficionados tend to (in my experience) find all lost media worthy of notice, regardless of origin.
That's almost as ignorant as saying the Ford Model T isn't relevant to automobile history just because at the time they were pretty much only sold in the states
Or like saying The Beach Boys are an irrelevant band because they were American
