- This is my review of the movie, Killers of the Flower Moon, an epic drama directed by Martin Scorsese. The film stars Leonardo DiCaprio and Robert De Niro and focuses on a string of murders that take place within the Osage Nation during the 1920s. In this review, I share my thoughts on the movie and why I think it might not appeal to all viewers but is still brilliant in its execution. How do you have a UA-cam Channel "reviewing" movies with this strong an accent while you're practically mumbling into your microphone in a flat monotone voice?? If you're ever questioning why your sub count doesn't go up - now you have at least 3 reasons.

@@michaelabayomi Yeah but I saw an article you wrote about the 'best metroidvanias' that didn't include Guacamelee! (with a bunch of herd mentality souls-like trash) and decided extending you my respect wasn't necessary.
Look at the positive. None of my criticisms are something you can't develop the skill for - if you just put in the work and 'git gud!'

While I didn’t flat out love this movie, mostly from it being too long in my opinion. This was still a great movie. Loved the performances, especially DiCaprio and Gladstone, and the build up to the investigation (again, even if it took a little too much time to get there). I will not be surprised to see this win Oscars. And I think it certainly deserves to. Great review and video, Michael 👍

Ah man…. no disrespect but I had a really hard time understanding most of what you were saying in this video. Your dialect is very thick and the music you chose is mixed nearly at the same db range as your dialogue. I can only catch a few words at a time. I’d suggest either speaking a little slower, emphasizing key words, or pull your music down a bit so your dialogue punches through more clean. But I can tell you put a lot of thought and effort into this review. Again no disrespect, just a critique.
No prob. And thanks for the feedback. I understand that not everyone would be familiar with my dialect, which is why I always strive to include English subtitles. But you've certainly highlighted a few more things I can try to help bridge the gap even more in future videos.

an above average movie overhyped, I cannot figure out what all the fuss is about. In terms of artistic originality, it's familiar territory, same story in Herzog's hands would have been far superior. De Niro gives a brilliant performance but De Caprio is less than satisfying, partly because of some illicit diversions from the real character,, to make him look more sympathetic for cinematic purposes, and the movie drags on toward a predictable conclusion. In Grann's book we learn of death of hundreds by the whites and the movie plays it, i.e., the genocide, down. Also, in reality, Mollie saved herself by becoming suspicious of her husband, in the movie she is saved by FBI, turning her character a bit silly. I give it a solid B.
A solid B sounds about right to be honest. I never read the book but I'm not surprised to hear that some artistic liberties have been taken for the film adaptation.
I think u can't make a video like this without watching a film this long a dozen times!!!! Im tired of seeing movie reviews on movies like this the same week or month they came out
I see what you're getting at. But while I understand that one could gain a greater appreciation for a movie, or any work of art for that matter, the more times they become exposed to it, the fact is that most people can already tell whether or not they like a movie, and why, from their very first viewing, regardless of length.
Not really interested in seeing anything with Robert De Niro in it. Especially in the theater maybe I’ll watch it when it comes out on one of the streaming services
