The Question has amazing solo comics and his role on Justice League Unlimited convinced me to actually read his comics. Jeffrey Combs is such a fine actor and he did an amazing job as voice actor for The Question. As far as I am concerned, his voice acting did for Question what Kevin Conroy's did for Batman. Both made their characters memorable.
Hey, I write a comic thread on Mario Mansion.com. I covered Vic Sage before, but am getting ready to dip back into the character. Check it out if you want. I am currently mostly focusing on Green Arrow 2, but they are linked. And also looking at all DC martial artists. Something Arris didn’t mention was how Hub City was based on STL, where I am more or less from. Hub City is considered worse than Gotham.
I always thought Jeffrey Combs was the perfect voice for the Question. Also for the redrawn version of Scarecrow, but that's because he's really good at playing slimy villains.
I love the justice league unlimited version of The Question. I hope the comics drop the Rene Montoya version and the metaphysical angles and story line. The hub city anchor and objectivism with a detective's intellect that rivals Batmans. The question's conspiratorial skepticism and different way to see who is the one pulling the strings along with his objectiveness make him a fresh personality and an interesting read. I love him and my Son and I are 2 people that find him to be their favorite.
@@mprattyh3 yeah, and they certainly did an excellent job of pissing me off to the max with Clark's flashback scenes in the first few minutes of the movie..
If you're wondering why Vic Sage and Huntress were romantic in Justice League Unlimited, I would suggest reading Batman/Huntress: Cry for Blood. While this is more of a Huntress story line, Vic feelings towards Huntress also serves as a reminder of what he use to be and why she needs saving as well. Focus and Resourcefulness towards life and crime.

I've wanted to make a Jim Gordon tv show for a while now, set after Batman's first kill. They don't talk anymore and so Jim hires The Question as a P.I. for a job. This speech that Batman has with The Question in this video is PERFECT for this show. Just ties in greatly, showing how much he regrets the action he took.
I like how Bullock figured out that Rene was the new question. He had been eyeing her can for so many years while they served on GCPD that he recognized her even with the different clothes.

I really grew to love Montoya as a character after reading Gotham Central and 52. DC was able to translate her from a minor character created for a cartoon into a complex, strong, and proudly gay police officer and superhero. While I will always prefer Vic Sage’s Question because I grew up with JLU and read my Dad’s copies of his old solo series (They’re very good!), I do think she is a worthy successor. I hate how Vic is underused even though he’s alive in the Rebirth. If DC does make a Question movie or TV series I hope they have both versions in it to please both sides of the fandom, don’t kill off Vic like they did in the comics, and give the duo a relationship like Sherlock and Watson or Mulder and Scully.
