She passed 5 years ago at the age of 10. Let me start by saying I am not a dog trainer. I really have no clue how to train a dog. I talk to them a lot with the expectation that they understand me. In time they understand complex sentences. Here is the real kicker: Nicki started to understand me telepathically! I noticed she was was responding to things that I was thinking about. For instance, I would be thinking about taking Niki for a ride in the car. She would get really excited and start making circles by the door. So I thought that I would test it. She was sitting on my lap. I thought, “Niki do you love me?” She looked at me with those big expressive eyes and licked my arm. 🥰. I did this one by accident. I was thinking about what would I fix for breakfast. I thought I would make ham and eggs, Niki’s favorite. I Sat there 15 more minutes watching the news. Suddenly, she was at my feet and started barking at me. She rarely does this unless she wants to go to bed. I stood up and she herded me into the kitchen. Then she started making circles by the stove. She wanted me to make the ham and eggs that I was thinking of. She always gets a healthy portion of it. So I have tried this with other animals. They understand our thoughts better than you would think. Actually, I am quite sure that this is how animals communicate with each other. I wonder if there have been studies about that. I have a Morkie now. Just like Niki, Dixie understands me when I talk with her. I haven’t tried to communicate telepathically to her yet. I guess I should test it. Debbie

THIS NEEDS TO GO TO ELON MUSK. Put nuerolink into a dog's brain and some how make it able to select objects irl or maybe some kind of overlay of phrases it can see and choose from, and have it speak thru a device. ( extra money for different types of voices )
Bunny, it almost looks like you’re in my old apartment. If you pull back that far right curtain just a touch, it should be Alcatraz. Cool. Peace, cutie.
It's interesting that when the dog 'says' "scritches go", the owner reinforces the interpreted message verbally and using gestures. The dog then comes to her for scritches, almost as if prompted by her. I wonder what would have happened if the owner instead acted like "scritches go" was a request for playing with a ball, picking up a ball and gesturing with it, would the dog have reacted, as if prompted to play ball with her? I'm not saying this is definitely what is happening, but you have to be really careful with these things so as to not generously interpret, or accidentally prompt the dog to act consistent with it's supposed communication, then use it's behaviour in response to that prompt as evidence for the supposed communication. I don't want to sound overly pessimistic, I am convinced dogs can easily learn to distinguish hundreds of objects and activities etc. and also to communicate their wishes in relation to these concepts and objects. It's when animals are supposedly creating human-language like sentences and combining words in human typical ways I get very skeptical; it's very easy to over interpret and it has happened before with ape sign language experiments. I would love to be proven wrong in the future. Unfortunately I doubt the scientific rigor of any tik-tok celebrity.
actually they are indeed part of a scientific study. watch the ytube vids. you'll be able to see that she will say ball, and look around for it, or stairs, and look upstairs. she'll even use upstairs when referring to a cat on a counter, because she doesn't have a word for counter yet. i can see how you'd think what you wrote of though, happens too.
I believe both of you are right. I think the verval reinforcement is used to try and link the action of the button press to the result of scritches, ball or anything else. With some animals that goes wrong and they just press a button and the owner eventually 'gives a command' as a response of the button press. With other animals it goes right and they understand that different buttons have different results. At least that's what I believe!
Now, bc of you, there are all these talking dogs, but I love your "set up". You work with a cognitive science dept at a reputable school (I was a graduate biological behavioral neuroscience student at Columbia university, and I know work as a therapist, so I admire the partnership with the scientific method), your house is AMAZING.. Youre adorable, the dog is just so cute... It makes for a charming, substantive "channel"
"By ANY sense"? Really? Maybe not in the LITERAL sense, as in audible words coming out of her mouth, but ANY sense? By that standard, deaf people who communicate with sign language aren't really talking.
@@TieDyeVikkithese are feel good videos demonstrating Pavlov’s classical conditioning. A dogs brain is just not made for complex tasks such as talking.
@@texasalalmoful It's called brain plasticity, and this goes way beyond Pavlov's classic conditioning. We don't know what's possible until we try. And once we see results, we can't just keep saying it's impossible. We've seen too much from Bunny to keep chalking it up to randomness, coincidence, human projection, etc. Now maybe the results of the study will show she's just an exceptional dog, or it's only possible if you start as a puppy like she did (although Billi the cat started at age 11or 12 and she's impressive, but maybe she's just exceptional too), or maybe only certain breeds show promise, etc. But I'd say we have enough preliminary evidence on Bunny (and Billi) to know it's not random. Even you admit it's "simply communication"... well how is that possible if their brains can't handle such things?

Then she started making circles by the stove. She wanted me to make the ham and eggs that I was thinking of. She always gets a healthy portion of it.
So I have tried this with other animals. They understand our thoughts better than you would think. Actually, I am quite sure that this is how animals communicate with each other. I wonder if there have been studies about that.
I have a Morkie now. Just like Niki, Dixie understands me when I talk with her. I haven’t tried to communicate telepathically to her yet. I guess I should test it.
Debbie
I had a cat who was very good at understanding what I was saying. Never tried the telepathy, but upon hearing that cats only meow to communicate with humans, it makes sense. I know yr talk about dogs, but I think cats and dogs have similar intelligence.
Woah...
All animals communicate telepathically. Humans can learn to do it as well, although this button stuff is also awesoeme. But look up animal communicator videos. Telepathy is real.
@@grunt7684 I know. Isn’t it great!
@@grunt7684 absolutely! I thought I would check it out on a chicken. I was at a outdoor party. They had free range chickens. The little kids started chasing one trying to catch it. The poor chick was totally freaked out! It was screeching and flying around. I said quietly under my breath, “Come to me chicken. I will save you.” A few minutes later, I found the chicken seeking shelter under my chair! Yep, even chickens!
Poodles are geniuses.
That is amazing 👍👍👍👍👍
She is so sweet🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
Well she's got poodle in her blood so who's surprised that bunny talks alot. Of. Course dogs can say almost anything. Can't your kid?
Amazing
this is so cute!!!
wow! 5.7 mil followers
Dean Koontz must be so excited
This is so wonderful
Got one for my girlfriend because she says we need to talk more.
So far she only uses the "money"' "money" bottom.
Haha woman bad funny
Bunny needs a button so she can get a beenie, but not lime green.
So amazing and cute!
My dog can sign language.
It is such a cute looking dog ☺️
0:50 ooooooo you like sriracha!~~~
That's unbelievable
WOW THAT'S SOOO COOL
U R DOING VERY IMPORTANT WORK! I feel that in the future most animals will have this at their disposal. Very cool!!!
Are there smaller buttons for kittens and rabbits?
Mommy smart. I want a smart mommy too.
Buttons: ear, nose, mouth tail She has Hurt?
THIS NEEDS TO GO TO ELON MUSK. Put nuerolink into a dog's brain and some how make it able to select objects irl or maybe some kind of overlay of phrases it can see and choose from, and have it speak thru a device. ( extra money for different types of voices )
How do you teach bunny a word like stranger?
Bunny, it almost looks like you’re in my old apartment. If you pull back that far right curtain just a touch, it should be Alcatraz. Cool. Peace, cutie.
Amazing!!
Amazing!
Hi Bunny
Associate notes to words, repeat until a reaction, then 10% for the big guy 😉
Awesome
What is a "sheepadoodle"?
I wanna see dolphins or seals using the same method.
It makes for a charming, substantive "channel"
is that really a dog cuz im startin to think its a guy in a dog costume
This is nuts
I suggest a f...off button. Try it when dogs are together ; not on their own.❤
IS this scary or cool.......???
where can I get one of those for my doggo?
Bunny uses a system from FluentPet, if you want to pick some up.
Audio much better.

@@ItsMeMissV369 they aren't in SoCal. You're welcome.
@@Khaleesi_Of_Kittens you already answered and I said thank you 😄

Hello has anyone else had these fluent pet buttons with pre recorded obscenities and creepy messages? Me and a few others have.
If the dog can talk? Why couldn’t we teach it to do math or read?
💜
first :D
Its lovely that she can use the buttons but dogs are not an experiment
Hello has anyone else had these fluent pet buttons with pre recorded obscenities and creepy messages? Me and a few others have.
That's more like research. Or a curiosity. She isn't being mistreated, if you fear that.
Ugh adds and more adds
This is not talking by any sense, this is simply communication.
Simply, right. 😂
