I just bought 2 of these on clearance at Lowes for $79.00 each. I bought 2 because it only comes with 1 4 amp battery. An extra battery was $140.00. It's cheaper to buy a second one.

I just picked up one at Lowe’s for 119 and I’m super excited to use it! It’s best of both worlds all in one tool
If you decide you like it alot you should check your local Lowe's again. They just marked this model down to $50 on clearance. I just picked one up. The website showed it was $79 but it was lower in store.

This BOSCH is a beast
The freak is hands down the best impact I've got or had for that matter, lugs no problem, framing , no problem. Wood screws, no problem, in fact ive not had it fell me yet
Do you know what the two hole collet is for? I have two freaks and one has the holes and the other doesn’t. Pin locks I’m guessing?

true, I upgraded to CORE 4Ah batteries and my Freak 2 sounds meaner. It can remove my lugnuts with both batteries but no doubt it got its torque bumped a bit

Do you know why the collet has two holes?
I have a few Bosh tools and battery packs (all the same interface) and I missed this driver like I was missing breathing :-) Just got one and I am IN LOVE! I have no idea why I waited this long to buy one and it was 99 bucks at Lowes! I'm sure there are other brands/models out there comparable to this impact driver but this is one beast of a driver and I can't find enough holes to drill and enough screws to drive in :-) The standard 1/4 bit socket and the 1/2 inch anvil all in one package, is pure genius! A winner for sure!
Milwaukee is much stronger and faster

I used mine the other day to take lug nuts off an F-250 that had been sitting for about 2 years. Love this impact
Watching that paddle bit going through the 4x4 i kept waiting for it to stop and for the drill to start smoking. There was a time that, even with electric drills, we wouldnt even try to go through a 4 x 4 with a paddle bit
They sell these on Amazon for 85 bucks! Just picked me up one. Can't wait to get to the junkyard when it gets here

I’m actually working on my car right now... just changed the oil used impact to remove oil pan bolt and I’m working on removing the bumber right now with the drill on low torque setting... using t25, 8mm and 10mm bolts to get that bumper and old headlamp off...

I just got a two tool pack of this and a brushless hammer drill at Lowe's. It came with the charger and two 4.0 batteries for $150. It was cheaper than the kit that had the same tools and two 2.0's.
yup, that's the one I've got @ home and it works superb. The hammer drill is no slouch either.

@@MasteringMayhem yes I bought it. Very happy with them one is the 1/2 inch drill and other is the new version freak. Came with 2 4 ah batts and charger with large duffle bag. I have a bunch of other cordless tools but I'm going all Bosch now.

It currently sits on 3300 in-lbs (275 ft-lbs) of breakaway torque with the 1/2 and will break most lugnuts loose. This tool is actually intended for construction use. putting scaffolding together as such.... and the lanyard makes sure that you don't drop in on anyone below you. at lowes currently for 99$. they also have a top of the line Connect Version, with bluetooth capabilities and 3 speed selector and on and off switch for the light. you can just have the light off, during the day to save some battery. the buetooth capability ( small chip you have to buy for $20, which goes into the handle) will allow you to set the timer on the light, to up to 60 seconds and you can enable or disable soft start ( slow progressive start), track usage and view data about the tool,... like i said, this thing is inteded mainly for construction use, scaffolding and putting together struts and c channels. they also have the gdr version which is just 1/4 hex impact driver without the 1/2 socket. same speed but less ipm at 4000 compared to 4200, little less vibration and a bit smoother. great video btw.
great info right there. I have the connected version and always thought the nut busting (break away) torque was the same 1800 in-lbs because I couldn't find any info about it, then I thought maybe BOSCH underrated the tool.
But good to know and it makes lots of sense as I recently rotated the tires on my half ton truck and my FREAK 2 wouldn't even break a sweat

I have this. Awesome tool. Wish the light was not where they put it. The 1/4" hex has locked up on me before and it took some percussive matinence to get the bit out.

Man, I just bought my brand new freak last week. Today I have a chance to replace my tire. However, I can’t open it. I have to reuse my old $50 12v cord wrench to open my tire. I have to return it tomorrow.

I got the two tool kit Bosch GXL18V-233B25 it's exactly the same as your impact driver mine except it comes with a two 4.0 ah core batteries compact drill driver hammer drill
It's awesome igot one from amazon about 3 manth 119$ sale with 4 amp core battery btw the pit is very good

@@MasteringMayhem I decided to get the bosch one issue I had that it was very tight to insert the 1/4 socket on the impact not sure if it needed to be worn out but that's something bosch need to look at
@@heyheysaturday2492 It could be the brand of bit sometimes. I have DeWALT, Bosch, HART, etc. some bits fit right, some fit just fine.

A little nervous about buying this because I've been reading that some people have a collet issue where the bit stays stuck inside. Have you had this issue?
I haven’t had that issue, with the adapters or bits that I’ve used yet.

You need a 4A battery 2A does not cut it
2 amps vs 9 amps is not fair..rigid is more faster but try to make it equal amps next time
Where the heck is your speed Selector and light buttons? It’s usually on the base of the tool by the light
Its the little cheaper version of the GDX 18V 200c. Name is GDX 18V 200.
I call this the FREAK 2 Light, although it actually has the same torque, RPMs and IPM as the full fledged FREAK 2.
This one is GDX18V-1800B12
The one you're talking about with the speed selector and BT slot is GDX18V-1800C (C stands for connected).
There's about $50 price difference which makes the former one a deal.
Source: I used to have the light one, then upgraded to the full fledged one for about the same price.
That thing looks like a POWER RANGER GUN. 😂 There is doubt that bosch makes, a good product in this area.
This was a smart move by Bosch. Offering this impact so cheap let's most people buy it then possibly most likely will purchase there other tools.

I wish these power tool companies would make their battery chargers 100-240volt, like our phone chargers! I’d like to take some of my 18v and 20v tools abroad, and be able to charge the batteries in a foreign country, but can’t, without using an inverter!
