If you are following me on Instagram you already knew this: during my shift I was asked if I wanted to bring a DDZ to Amsterdam to make up for a shortage there. I never say no to that! This time there was time to walk to the train with you and to show the interior of this most comfortable train of the NS. Enjoy!
Als jullie mij op Instagram volgen wisten jullie het al: tijdens mijn dienst werd mij gevraagd of ik een DDZ naar Amsterdam wilde brengen om daar een manco aan te vullen. Daar zeg ik nooit nee tegen! Deze keer was er tijd om samen met jullie naar de trein te lopen en om het interieur te laten zien van deze meest comfortabele trein van de NS. Veel kijkplezier!

Hahahaha!!! Je wilde bijna weer laten zien hoe je de trein opstart.
tja inderdaad ! je ziet op UA-cam : een auto starten , een fiets , een vliegtuig in de cabine een vliegtuig starten ( opstijgen en landen ) in de cabine ! maar een trein .... is geheim !
Het gekke is, het is zelfs niet geheim.
Een stukje roestrijden is altijd mooi!

Thank you for the tour through the DDX. I can see how the upstairs and downstairs have different flavors, quiet upstairs and social downstairs. That is a nice train even if it is a little odd looking and uses a steering wheel as an accelerator pedal.

Getting from one end to the other end in those trains is a workout in en off itself :P but hands down the best trains NS has. followed by the ICM (42** series offcourse.. freaking garbagecans) and i`d have to say the SGM.

Mooi intro, van voor naar achter en van achter naar voor in de trein. Is dit standaardprocedure om te doen voordat je vertrekt?
En weer een mooie rit, lekker doorgereden want je hoefde bij geen enkel station te wachten. Alleen voor dat sein voor Weesp omdat de trein vanuit Almere voorrang had.

Hello, do you have what i would call a "depot", a station where you start and end up your journey every day ? Or do you sometimes sleep in a NS hotel in a far city from your Home ? I know they're doing that in Germany and France, but not in Switzerland tho, so i'm wondering :)
As Driver you have a station where you start and finish. No matter what you will finish paid workdays at your start location. Even if that means they have to give you a cab
@@i.m.385 Ah, you are not allowed to dead-head on the train even if that makes sense? That's the rules as I understand them here in the states.

@@i.m.385 As I have understood it from Google it means you're allowed to return to your starting point as a non-paying passenger on the companies own trains, if you don't drive your train back at the end of your shift, or take a cab paid by the rail transport company.
Sometimes we see a white flashing "X" usually (I guess) before a station. I found a definition which says, "Limit the speed so that for the next signal "No. 279 White "X" or a light signal, emitting red light, can be stopped. Applies only to drivers of trains intended for the carriage of goods and of trains designated by the relevant railway undertaking." Does that mean prepare to stop at next red signal? Wouldn't that be true anyway? Why is a white X necessary? Thank you. Soms zien we een witte knipperende "X", meestal (denk ik) voor een station. Ik vond een definitie die zegt: "Beperk de snelheid zodat voor het volgende sein" Nee. 279 Witte "X" of een lichtsignaal dat rood licht uitzendt, kan worden gestopt. Geldt alleen voor machinisten van treinen die bestemd zijn voor het vervoer van goederen en van treinen die zijn aangewezen door de betreffende spoorwegonderneming. This is to prevent long and heavy trains to have to stop on the slope out of the tunnel when another train is in front of it. So if you see this cross, the train in front of you has not cleared the tunnel yet.
Can't believe how cheap this journey is. Just had a look and for a first class ticket, and it's £15.23. For the equivalent journey from where I live in the UK to central London, first class is over £50!
Is that for the same distance (50km/31miles)?
@@ericvenneker I think it's about 40 - 50 miles from my town to London Liverpool Street, takes about the same time 40-50 minutes depending on stops.

@@ericvenneker Upland (near me roughly speaking) to LA Union Station, about 55 km as the rails wiggle is (currently) $7.50. Prices are down due to Xi's Disease. That trip to London sounds obscene by comparison.

Net als in de goede oude tijd op Train Drivers POV. Jammer dat het niet meer "mag".. misschien als je een keer een museum trein mag rijden, buiten de NS om. Zou dat dan wel kunnen??🤔

Het zal wel een goeie zijn. Maar jammer genoeg denk ik dat oude trein stellen zoals de mat 64 of ander oud trein stelletjes. Niet meer op het spoor mogen!
Vragen:
1. Is buitenom lopen niet sneller van de ene naar de andere kant? 😂
2. In hoeverre zijn machinisten opgeleid om technische storingen op te lossen?
3. Wat is de langste rit in de dienstregeling qua tijd en km?
Sneller maar koude, natter, gevaarlijker. Per materieel krijgen we elke drie jaar herinstructie waar het oplossen van storingen uitvebreid aan bod komt. Tijdens de dienst worden we ondersteund door de technische dienst.

Ja ik snap ook niet wat dat in de trein doet. De wapenstok zien we ook liever niet in de trein..
Mooie rondgang,houd je jong.ziet er mooi uit van binnen.
Heb tussen de middag ProRail aan de foon gehad,het koplos spoor is vanaf de overweg naar die 2 flats verwijderd.we hebben heerlijk een half uurtje zitten kletsen vanaf 16:30 uur.gezellig dametje.ze kon Maria ook van de telefoon dienst.
Dat meen je niet, haha! Weg droom.. ;-)
