    Very cool, quick and handy little build. I like that it is wood too. I may do that myself. Thanks for the idea.

      Hi Lee. Sure thing and thank you. Yes if is a real easy build, of course the false floor adds a bit, but that's optional.

    Nice basket! Is that bike for doing small errands and going to work and such?

      @BruceChastain  5 років тому +2

      Yep that's right, although I did do a 83km ride with it yesterday evening.

    Great idea with the hidden compartment.
    But I find the IKEA Knagglig boxes are rather heavy for their size. Especially the heavy duty double studs are overkill.
    I have one of these much lighter wooden boxes from Hornbach mounted on the front of an old stiff fork MTB in randonneur style:

    I love how you can just throw anything in the box and just go

      Thanks cheesy! And yes it is pretty heavy for a small box, but the whole bike is already heavy anyway.

    I thought the same seeing the baskets yesterday :D
    does not it rattle?
    why not front rack? :D

    • @BruceChastain
      @BruceChastain  5 років тому +2

      the basket itself doesn't rattle, but yes the stuff I put in the hidden area does, I'm trying to solve that now with some cloth. And I just like rear baskets better, at least I think I do. Although I've recently added a front basket to another one of my bikes and it's pretty nice.
