ETHEL BABY. I discovered you this week on the midnight-3am part of my 16 hour shift at 911. You helped me stay awake as I fell down a rabbit hole into your world. I am 26 and was raised in Indiana and Ohio and from 19-23 had some fucked up dark moments with men and have since healed a lot but felt like such a freak for everything and all the darkness. I am sober and productive and healed but always bother me that I hide from those shadow parts. I would love to hang out with you I feel like I’m so many ways you are me, you are such a chill sweet girl. I’ve also always had an unexplainable affinity to Nebraska. Thank you for being you. 58:58 i looove that she answered this question, because for the longest time i've felt that sun bleached flies would've been a perfect closing track, because it's ethel coming to terms with what happened to her and forgiving it all, as she says in the song. strangers is my favorite song on the record, but it's so devastating to listen to after sun bleached flies, because it takes you back into the story, and deals with ethel's failure to be loved, and that's why, for me, it's even more gut-wrenching; sun bleached flies is tragic because of general failure in life, but strangers is tragic because of a failure to be loved, which is one of the things ethel always craved the most, hence all of her (mostly toxic) relationships with men, who in the end either abandoned her, abused her or quite literally killed her. sun bleached flies makes me want to sob and sob and sob, but it brings a certain amount of comfort in the end. but strangers is like being stuck in a cage where there's no coming out of, and to me, it will forever be the most heartbreaking song on preacher's daughter.

I think the rod with the curved tip and coil forming the handle is designed to be used with something hot. The coil is there to protect your hand from getting burned. I suspect it was made to ,perhaps, pull a cover plate from a wood stove, or move some coals in a small forge.
10:54 I think it's a manual hole saw- a combination drill/ saw/ wood rasp tool, for when you need to work in the middle of a large sheet of plywood or a wall of planks.
