    Wow sounds like the Edge from the 80’s, wonder if he knew how much he would inspire “worship” music!!! King David had an acoustic instrument no “effects”, and most importantly the anointing, which I have found most Christians sadly don’t know the difference!!!

      Hi @bensoncope1006 Good to hear from you! You're right, sometimes we all can forget why we do something, but it's important to always come back to the heart of worship, whether it's with an instrument or even without. Thanks for your comment and thanks for checking out the video.

      My friends and I went and saw U2 during the Unforgetable Fire tour in Dallas back in the 80s and while singing alone I suddenly felt something I had never felt before at a rock show. My soul connecting with the Lord! During 40 I felt it so hard I walked out in full worship mode and my eyes filled with tears. It was just too beautiful. Decades later I felt the same thing during a worship conference I was atteneding for a church and was like wait a minute. I've heard this before, I felt this before. The Edge! Did he invent moderan worship quitar tone? lol Someone needs to bake a movie about history of worshiop music thorugh the 90's, and 2000's. Good stuff!

    I recently bought a POD GO, so fewer options than the Helix, but also half the price! Besides, I always have an EQ on----since it's a hard-wired slot, and a reverb, that one takes up one of the 4 blocks. I then have 3 open blocks, for which I typically use a Delay, then an Overdrive. I do not use any "distortion" as the church congregation would freak out over some major fuzz tones! haha. The overdrive also acts as a Vol booster. Then I have a choice for the last open block, and sometimes use a Chorus. I have a PRS SE Custom 24, but I mostly use a Fender Tele Hybrid model, with 3 noiseless SC pickups and a 5-way switch, the 2 diagonal ones emulate a Strat. When I do use the PRS I like it's push/pull knob, to go back and forth between SC and HB's. THANKS for your VID! It'd be nice to know which types of pedals you did use for the one ambient sampling.

    Helix has a clean, easy-to-use, computer-based editor that would allow you to visually demonstrate everything you were talking about, with details on values and levels. This would have made this video 100% more useful and informative. You don't even have to worry about diagramming the signal chain yourself, HX Edit literally does it for you. I kept waiting and waiting thinking, surely he's going to show us, at the very least, a screen shot of his signal chain, but no such luck. What was the thinking behind this omission?

    • @WorshipGuitarSkills
      @WorshipGuitarSkills  8 місяців тому

      Hi @double-r4975 Thanks for your comment, it really helps us when we get feedback like this. The overall aim for this video wasn't necessarily to give you guys the exact parameters on the effects we use in the helix, but rather to give an overview of what tone is made up of. We will definitely keep HX edit in mind for the future when we do tone based videos, because as you said, it would make the videos a lot more informative. Thanks for pointing this out and thanks for watching the video!

    Do you know what irritates me so much about videos like this? that you all just talk about generalizations and no specific details on how to get that Worship Tone...Sure it's subjective but at least give a good detailed staring point as it relates to settings and let us figure out the rest.

  • @nobnobnobnob

    There is no such thing as a "Worship Guitar tone". This is beyond ridiculous. If Jesus is alive today, he will smash all your guitars like he did when he drove all merchants away from the temple.

    • @WorshipGuitarSkills
      @WorshipGuitarSkills  Рік тому +18

      Thank you for sharing your perspective.
      Yes, it's true that worship is not limited by specific guitar tones or instruments.
      Instead, worship is an expression of our hearts and connection to God.
      When we talk about "Worship Guitar Tone" on our channel, we refer to a sound that many modern worship musicians have found conducive to creating a reflective atmosphere to lead their congregations in worship.
      As for Jesus, He was addressing the misuse of a sacred space for profit.
      Our use of instruments and specifically guitars based on the focus of our channel, is to facilitate worship and enhance the worship experience.
      We're always striving to honour God and every heart's sincere worship, with or without instruments, is precious.
      The Bible, particularly the Psalms, frequently mentions the use of stringed instruments in the context of praising and worshiping God.

    Dude I don’t even have a tube amp I got the boss katana 100 watts and stressed because I’ve been going to band practice for 12 weeks now and the workshop leader there still says my tone is somewhat dry and a bit muddy and I’m so freaking stressed out man you have no idea. I know you have no idea who I am but if there is any way you could maybe talk about some stuff let me know your email.

    • @matthewtaylor203
      @matthewtaylor203 Рік тому +1

      If it’s dry add more reverb and if it’s muddy reduce the bass

    • @thomaschilds8781
      @thomaschilds8781 Рік тому

      +1 dry could mean it wants more delay or reverb.
      It might also mean your tone is a bit scooped, so try some more upper mids.
      You might also find one of the other channels/gain options cuts through better. If you were using lots of gain, it may be less gain gives clarity.
      Another thought is whether you are using the amps speaker or using a DI / cable to the sound desk. Getting to know the person serving on the desk and the settings they are using could help.
      Apologies if you know this stuff already, but hopefully gives some options to try.

      @@thomaschilds8781 hey man, sorry for the late response! Thanks for your help I appreciate it! I knew most of the stuff already and took some time and I think figured it out, I still don’t know my Dustin peddals supper well because I don’t know how mixed in I will be, so I don’t want to have too much gain because I’m playing rhythm and in our band rhythm guitarists are usually the ones that come out of the sound system clearly, so I don’t want to blast the church away with distiortion, however if I’m more mixed in I should be fine to have my peddal daily medium to medium high. Thanks for the feedback! I really appreciate it!!!!
