Just curious. Given you love compressors, what are your thoughts on compressors without blend knobs? Everyone seems to say yips best to get one with a blend knob- but there are so many threes knob, or even 2 knob compressors available. Just curious about your thoughts regarding the blend knob.
To be honest I don't rely on the blend knob too often and when I do, it is quite subtly. I like them to bring out more pick attack (especially with humbuckers) on compressors with a quick attack rate or an overly high ratio. With a pedal like this and most pedals with a tunable attack knob, I don't really need them as much. The time I really use them is if I want tons of sustain while maintaining pick attack. I crank the ratio, get the threshold low and up the blend to give my transients some punch.
I find when playing single coils I have to play with more effort than humbuckers will this pedal give me that effortless buttery feel I get from playing humbuckers but on single coils?
2:35 and the sweet comp tone funks up nice 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
I didn't know Diamond was from Canada...cool! 🇨🇦😎🎸

Nice demo. I have the bass version of this one and it's a winner.

@@JayLeonardJ Thanks very much for the response. It is much appreciated.
@JayLeonardJ can diamond comp be powered in 12 volts? Thanks
Hi Jay Leonard, which compressor would you buy the Diamond or Cali76? I have a Fender Mex Tele ‘60 and love percussive funk 😁
The Cali76 Might be a great choice for quick attack smooth funk transients. The Diamond is great for bold solos and more subtle compression sounds.
JayLeonardJ Thank you very much! Which configuration of amp, paddles and co. is your go to?
"If you're the compressor guy that doesn't like compressors..." Wait, what?
What are you playing thru ? Did I miss that . Amp , guitar , any other settings ? Reverb etc ?
A Revv D20. Check out the link in the video: this was actually part on a whole series of gear I made about an All-Canadian Guitar Rig :)

You can definitely dial in some blossoming smooth tones with this one!
