✅ Fixing a Quarter Panel with a Use of SPOTTER

  • In this video I will show you a step by step process of how I metalwork a damaged quarter panel back into it's original location with some basic tools and a use of a spotter. With a use of a laser I'll figure out how far the the meal needs to be pulled back out. This is by far the easiest and fastest way that I've found thus far to tackle a repair such as this one.

      My Son and I did one according to his instructions for a school Science project and placed well! Fix has two versions. The first is the most simplest. Try it that way and hit the weld button for a manual operation with a quick zap, that will get the job done! Good luck, Phillip Hall

      Having a shop sure is nice, I am currently in Florida for about a week where wife and I are looking at different areas to possibly relocate to. The place that I would be buying would have to have quite a bit more property then I currently own and preferably already have a shop on site or at least have a good spot for me to put the shop in... Hopefully it pans out!

      @@fix206 Hopefully you find a good property that suits your needs and you can relocate to a warmer climate and get rid of the snow. We moved here to Queensland about 30 years ago from New South Wales for a warmer climate, but the winters here are still a bit too cool for my liking (rarely below 35F at night with days rarely below 60F max, but way, way better than where we came from. We have five acres here, mostly bush (woods) and we have about an acre near the middle where we built our house and big shed, etc. Setting up my small shop at the moment and I realized that I need a wood shop as well for my woodwork stuff, so it looks like another shop is on the cards to build once I finish this shop. Then I need to extend the big shed for my car painting shop. It all takes time!!

    Once you get your metal pulled as close to the measurements as possible, have you thought about using a contour gauge to replicate the proper contours off the other quarter panel to get the damaged sections as close to original shape as possible? What are your thoughts on this tool?

    • @fix206
      @fix206  Рік тому +2

      Once I tightened all of the metal up, for the most part everything went back to original shape so there was no need for contour gauge

      I have painted in freezing temperatures before with good results. Usually my main thing that I check for is that it's not going to rain or snow and also no windy or breezy conditions. Go lighter on material as you're laying them down so you don't run 'em.
