Its both. I'm sure that chinese people know about people from different parts of the world. Because they've put themselves in most corners of the world. Why would she ask such a question 🤔. There is no excuse for this. Times have changed so much. If I had said why is your eyes like that it would be called asian hate. I am no more visibly different than they are. The world is different. All kinds of people exist in it. With the social media don't tell me that she has never seen a dark skin person before. Slave mentality. White skin is beautiful and if you're dark skin then you must be dirty because you don't bath. She probably wasn't trying to he rude but by now she should know how to be respectful to other cultures as this young lady wasn't. When people do this they need to be put in their place by means of education. She should've schooled her and I wouldn't bother with the makeup. They've been doing this for a long time. And now there's talking about asian hate. But what about their hate. I know this wasn't about hate. Just saying.

No, China is actually pretty diverse, they have large land, different ethnic groups have been on the land since ancient times. The skin colour and feature also more varied than other east asian countries. You might confuse them with Korea where the land is small, basically only have 99 % of korean ethnicity and was very closed off until recent years. So their comments here were just plain rude, there are other beauty shops who would treat her better. But when blackface is still constantly being shown in The Spring Festival Gala, which is like the biggest event in China shown by the State TV broadcast throughout China and across the world even as recent as last year, I think it would take a looooong time for racial insensitive comments to go away from the land so it s fine to call them out constantly and vehemently.

As a Chinese person I would like to say that I'm so so sorry about that girls behavior. Even though I'm Chinese myself, I tend to be afraid of Chinese people, because (some) Chinese people tend to be a bit blunt and straightforward to the point it's kind of rude. So its hard to hide how hurt you are sometimes. (You did a great job staying calm and strong when she said such rude things by the way. I however was not that resilient 😔) One day I just went to visit my grandparents in China and they had a friend over. And the moment their friend looked at me. They said why does your granddaughter have such big eyebags? She looks so tired. And then the conversation carried on like nothing happened. And the moment the guy left the house I burst into tears. So, for anyone reading this I hope you remember to stay strong if you are being treated this way, and stand up for yourself! Don't let people mistreat you! And if your saying rude things without a care, please remember to think about how your words can affect others. Thank you for reading my comment! ❤️ Stay strong guys :)

I experienced this several times when I lived in China. Questions are insensitive but I do believe it stems from ignorance and curiosity most of the time. However, that shower comment, no. She was being rude. To imply that someone has poor hygiene is considered rude. She said that because she doesn’t see this black women as human on the same level that she is. To imply that someone is black because they don’t clean themselves. Cleaning in necessary for all humans. Our cleaning rituals vary from culture to culture, but we all must clean ourselves to remain healthy. We all clean unless we lack access and/or choose not to for some reason.
When people ask why your hair is so long? How can your hair be so beautiful? Same thing. You are human and hair growth is a human function. That’s why. Therefore, we’re all capable of growing hair UNLESS there is some type of abnormality or circumstance.

The client was black and the MUA artist didn't know darker skinned people use or maybe even in general that there was foundation to match darker shades of skin. I'm pretty sure that fits the definition of ignorance so I'm not sure of the point you're trying to make. I was just saying in general sometimes you get hit with knowledge that you didn't even know was a part of the world and it can be weird and jarring. We've even made a trend I out of it "I was today years old when I learned..." It happens everyday but it's just about exposure, and growing up with the internet you would think we would be exposed to everything but research in and of itself is still a skill. You have to know what you're looking for, how to find it, and how to determine its validity.

Seeing a person of darker color and ethnicity would be shocking to them since they've never encountered them. As a Chinese person, the off cam makeup attendant was straight up rude. Might not be ill intended, but very rude. The excuse of China being a very homogenous country with few foreigners in the comment section isn't a valid excuse.
As like OP said, there's a lot of dark skinned Chinese people in China, which are even more present in southern China. Furthermore, it's not like black people doesn't on Chinese social media or that black celebrities doesn't exist in China. And it's not like Chinese people don't know asking people if they are taking shower or not bc of their skin color is rude or not. No excuse at all, from any angle.
I'm glad MUA said to that person, "don't talk nonsense. We're not the same race. They're black, we're yellow." or that the makeup attendant shouldn't ask this rude question in the first place.
I'm also amazed how OP handled it so gently with so much patience. I was even more amazed by OP taking her time to talk abt science to that makeup attendant.

I'm asian, but I feel so offended by that statement. It's not same with the model photo you want, but I think it's pretty good. And you have a good skin there.

It was hard to watch, I think they are totally racist or ignorant either way ......not a good experience or customer service and the make up is not professional. Looks like something your friend does to help you get ready for a date

The ignorance was intentional. As a black woman, I've also encountered plenty of these backhanded comments before. It's crazy how they act like Chinese people are fair skinned when most are the same skin tone and even darker than black people.

A bit off to me yet salute to Busola she handled it out great. Love her patience and understandinggggg

Omg their reactions made me feel so sad 🥺how is not possible they don't know that people have different skin colors, I feel like they should know that by now ..and when the girl said that thing about shower and the makeupartist asked if she should add white foundation I was like ..wtf is wrong with these people😳😳
You're so mentally strong for not getting pissed at them because they were so rude and you did not deserve to be treated like that.
Anyway you look beautiful as always!🤗 I really enjoy watching your videos 😍

I don’t care what anyone else! The makeup attendant appeared to look older based on her side profile so there is no way in hell she’s got to that age at-least not knowing of different ethnicities and shades of people, even if she hasn’t seen one in person I’m sure she knows they exist! I had to stop watching after the ignorant comments continued! Especially the “ is your skin that black because you don’t shower”! That was it for me! So dam dumb ! Like seriously! I’m done 🤦🏻‍♀️😂😂 I’m 28 young lady and you’re way better than I could ever be because I couldn’t of sat there! I’m African American but I’m really really pale skinned, a lot of people assume I’m Hispanic both my parents or black I’m just light🤦🏻‍♀️! You’re beautiful and I just found your channel yesterday and I love you already!

I think the makeup artists still followed East Asian conventional makeup methods and didn't use the right colours (where did the black eyeshadow go? 🤣🤣 ), but I your beautiful face structure and natural beauty brought it together and still made it pretty!!!❤️❤️
I really think warm colours like copper and golden shimmer would've suited the eyeshadow, plus a dark or nude lipstick, those combos would really bring a glow and warmth and complement your skin tone and minus the under eye colour because as I know I usually put it on my under eye because I have more east Asian eye shape and this is usually used to pronounce but since you have quite beautifully pronounced eyes, you wouldn't need it.
I really loved the brows tho!! It looked good nonetheless!!! ❤️❤️

Yeah, I saw that too... she went with a cool palette when she should have gone with a warm palette. The silver was pretty but gold would have been stunning. Ultimately, the artist did a good job, but if it was done on someone that was ugly the outcome would have been very different.
